This would be our third stay. We will return! Lucky to get a superior queen. The bed is comfortable, have such a dream sleep. Shower’s pressure is fantastic and I do love the colours. Love the new look verandah and gate. Fabulous hosts, very helpful and friendly. Curtains need to be fixed, the runners are stiff and could not close the curtains.

Booked at last minute, owners were lovely and room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits etc and free netflix too! Even had a wee fenced porch at front, I assume for toddlers because it was a family room. Parking was directly outside the room.

We have been staying with 6 to 8 friends at this motel every year we come to the annual Show & Shine car show, it never disappoints with its clean well equipped rooms with all necessary items supplied. The well equipped out door lounge kitchen area, equipped with TV, fridge, barbecue and plenty of seating is a welcome facility for all visitors. The very friendly owner operators, are very knowledgeable about all the local attractions. If you are looking for a quality budget motel in Portland, we can fully recommend the Retro you won’t be disappointed.

We arrived on a cold Friday afternoon, we were greeted at reception by Peter and after check in directed to our unit. We cannot speak highly enough of the clean amenities that awaited us. It was obvious from the moment we entered the care and love Tina and Peter and staff have for Retro Motel experience. An inviting Queen bed with white crisp linen set the tone throughout where the bathroom was well presented in retro style. We highly recommend a stay and look forward to our next visit. Warren H

Clean & tidy room, mattress was so comfortable. Shower was so good. Kitchen area for making your own breakfast. Not far from the main streets. Pom was so easy to deal with. This was our second time and we will definitely return.

Tina and Peter could not have been more enjoyable to deal with. After messing up our time of arrival (forgot about the SA->VIC timezone change), when we called to let them know they were happy to still be available for our check in. Clean rooms that were nice and dark during the night, comfy bed, netflix, and quiet. Could not have asked for more. Highly recommend.

Always awesome staying at the retro. Not far from drag strip. Always a friendly greeting. Great prices. Has a great bbq area to use as well. Rooms are always tidy. Love the small detail of having a windscreen cleaner set up to use after a long drive.

This is a great little motel in Portland. The beds are super comfy! Its a nice 20min stroll to central Portland where you can find some great restaurants and pubs. The motel also has a awesome bbq/common area which we didnt use but looked awesome! Will be sure to stay next time we are in the area!
