We had a large room that was very comfortable. The construction of the place means the rooms are quiet and the temperature is just right. The bed was very comfortable and it's only a short walk to find a decent meal. The management have obviously put a lot of thought into their place.
That's not an exaggeration! - we overrnighted in Pt Augusta on our way to Pt Lincoln, picked a reasonably priced motel at random and got incredibly lucky! The place looks nothing from the road and the courtyard is obviously a work in progress, but the room was fabulous! Vey spacious, clean and equipped with the most comfortable (king size) bed we've ever experienced in a motel, together with a large sofa, TV on a swivel wall mount so you could watch from the bed or the sofa and a basic kitchenette with microwave. I loved the rammed earth walls and the large timber deck at the rear. The shower cubicle is large and the shower provides plenty of hot water at a great pressure. The walls are very thick, so you hear nothing from the rooms either side (except for the inconsiderate guest in the room next door to us, who talked loudly and at length on her mobile phone outside on her deck at 11 o'clock at night and 0730 in the morning - but them's the breaks and not the fault of the motel!). We stayed in a 4-star hotel in Pt Lincoln and I have to say that the room at the Crossroads Ecomotel was better! It is situated right on the Eyre Highway (truck route), but the noise in the units not facing the road (most of them) was minimal. The owner/manager was very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely stay again next time we're in Pt Augusta.…
Stayed overnight for a stop over, we had a pet friendly room with a little courtyard which was perfect for our pup. The room itself was spacious and well presented. The room was fitted with a king bed and was very comfortable The staff were also very friendly and accommodating Overall we had a very nice stay here and would definitely recommend it
Excellent nights sleep at The Crossroads Ecomotel, the accommodation was warm, inviting, clean and extremely modern. Great stopover for anyone travelling north or south. A very warm welcome from our host, to parking directly outside motel room. Actually it was a suite with full kitchen facilities as well.
Have stayed in Port Augusta twice before and what a shame we didn't know about this place until now! Booked it because it looked really good in the photos, and it's even better in person. Don't let the exterior put you off. Unbelievably good value, a beautiful modern and comfortable room for under $140 a night. We had room 11 and the decor was really tasteful - the rammed earth walls were gorgeous and the room just had a nice, relaxing feel to it. Amazingly comfortable pillows and king bed, lovely leather sofa, big TV, good wifi, kitchenette with microwave, bathroom with fantastic shower, private outdoor patio area (was too cold to use it, but would be great in warmer weather), and good block-out curtains. It was also very quiet despite being on the highway, 24-hour Coles Express across the road, and free parking at your room door. The man at reception was friendly. We've stayed at places not as good as this that cost four times as much. Can't fault this one and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Port Augusta if we are ever there again.…
I have stayed in several Hotels in Port Augusta and this one is the best by far. Its quiet, very clean, comfortable and they offer all the amenities you need. I won't be even looking anywhere else from now on, straight to Crossroads. Don't be fooled by the outside, my husband wanted to back out and keep going. But we were very tired after a long drive and I said I'm not going anywhere and once we opened the door, it was lovely. It was a great price too.
What a surprise the eco motel was. Driving in it looked like any other cheap motel but once inside the room it had the Wow factor. The rammed earth walls were stunning visually. The room was well furnished, the bed extremely comfortable, shower hot with excellent water pressure and a lounge for tv watching perfect. The private deck with chairs and table was an added bonus. The thick walls and double glazing really minimised the noise of passing road trains Reception was very efficient, the girl welcoming and provided good advice on where to eat locally.
We spent our days bushwalking in the hot summer sun so the showers in this motel were much appreciated. Plenty of hot water with excellent pressure. We paid extra for a king size bed room which per other reviews meant we’d be away from the main road, but that wasn’t the case. We were in room 5 which was at the front. You can definitely still hear the road trains despite the rammed earth, double glazing and air con noise. The noise didn’t disturb us though, if anything there is something quintessentially Australian about seeing the road trains and counting their trailers! A 24hr Coles express is right across the road which is handy too. Very happy with our stay here.
This was the second night of a 6 day road trip across the Nullabor and this room was amazing. I felt guilty staying in it with my pets as it was so lovely. So modern, well presented and a fenced back patio which would almost have been perfect for my cat if one little section was a bit more secured - but for a dog it was simply perfect. There were some restrictions for the pets which could be tricky depending on your pet - like, no pet in the bathroom, which is commonly a good place to put an animal bed or litter tray,. But easy to manage for me and it was in such a good location I was able to pick up a few groceries just down the road.
10/10 on everything. Although 7 years old this motel has a new feel to it. It's modern design and furnishings are welcoming and comfortable. Bathroom is showroom standard and has quality linen and amenities. Friendly and helpful check in from Alan, thank you. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.
