Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Centrally located Motor inn within walking distance of the pier and some fantastic restaurants and cafes.
Great pool with spa.
Rooms are old but very clean, a good size and quiet.
Having said this I will not be stopping here again.
The front windows do not have a latch which means you can slide them open from outside to reach in and unlock the door. A simple fix which has been pointed out by others. Whilst I acknowledge that this property is budget in nature, security should be the number one concern for the operators.
The other issue is neighbours smoking outside your room. Whilst you cannot smoke in the rooms, many are forced to their front doors and sit outside for many cigarettes . Given the close nature of the rooms, the smoke is sucked into the neighbouring rooms. Not a property to stay if you don’t like others exhaled cigarette smoke.
Price is not everything.

Reception excellent. Close to coffee, snacks, ice cream, fish & chips, Urangan pier, whale watching, Fraser Island ferry, car rental, walks, restaurants, take always. Room 26: Clean room but old. There were some maintenance issues. No microwave with our deal. No laundry facilities, as something was broken, & if you don’t have your car, it’s a long walk to the laundromat. It is also a long walk to a supermarket if you want to cut your costs by buying real food. But overall, a good cheap spot for overnighting.

Clean room and bathroom. Clean and comfy bed but the thick pillow was not suitable for me.
Great location, opposite the beach, very close to the shops, cafes and the jetty/pier.
Stayed 2 nights with 3 other couples/friends in other rooms.
One reason we chose this accommodation was the swimming pool – but it was NOT in service on the days we were there.
There were stairs on either side of but only one was in use. The stairs area was very dark at night – no light. A big hazard especially when it’s raining.
We had to put something on our doors to stop it from constantly rattling with the wind (2 rooms upstairs).
Customer service/receptionist could be better.
Wifi did not work for us throughout our stay.
No designated {uncovered} parking per room.

Although good location owners (or managers) whoever they were treated like a backpackers with no consideration for guests.
Had a lot of friends staying there and partying on right opposite paying guests rooms Very loud with no attempt to ask them to quieten down and have other guests in mind.
Irresponsible but owners or management

This hotel would not refund or provide credit for our booked stay on 5th July even though we cannot travel from NSW because of covid restrictions. Even though booked through Booking.com, they blamed one another for their rigid no refund policy. Colluding essentially.

It was a nice affordable place to what I needed, I only needed a place to stay for the night as I was taking the ferry to Fraser Island the next morning.
We arrived very late at night, and a late check-in was arranged without any problem. We left early morning when the reception was still closed but was able to just drop the keys at a checkout box.
Parking just in front of the room.
There's a nice bakery just next to the building, great coffee and good bread, a good place for breakfast before taking the ferry.

We booked in advance but at the last minute so most places were booked out. The room had a couple of beds, a shower/bathroom which was extremely slippery when wet. On day 2 we asked for the carpet to be vacuumed because the dust was extreme ,and the bed heads dusted because the dust was laughable. The house keeper was lovely even though it was extremely busy. As the week went on we took care of ourselves by getting rid of rubbish, asking for towels etc because we read that they don’t service rooms regularly.Fridge is freezing up. Power points scarce and read the small print. We got what we paid for.

A very well located motel however getting tired and needs an update. Fittings hanging from the wall, shower door just hanging in, wifi was non existent unless next door to the office, would have appreciated some plates and cutlery. We unfortunately experienced some inconsiderate guests who wanted to drink and loudly debate various topics in the car park late into the night.
Car parking should be allocated.

Stayed here over the long weekend. The only postive thing I can say about Urangan Motor Inn is that its in a great location (close to the pier and places to eat.
Entered the room and it stunk. No idea what caused the smell. Stauns all over the carpet and it just had a grotty feel to it. No cutlery except 2 teaspoons. My partner and I had to take a trip to Big W to get cleaning products. Mentioned to reception about stains etc, she came and had a look and gave us a can of Glen 20!. Pretty sure the vacuum cleaners dont get used. Moved the bed and pretty sure under it hadnt had a vacuum for I dont know how long.
Really dont reccommend this place at all!

The receptionist was charming but the room had old stale food in the fridge and a really disgustingly filthy toilet.
We were given a new room and again stale food in fridge. Toilet not quite as bad but still obvious signs of prior use.
On complaining we were offered a free room but we felt our health was at risk and we decided to leave
