Polly and Trevor are most affable and expert hosts at this purpose-built modern villa. Superbly situated with views over the bay and only a few minutes drive from the centre of town, the accommodation lacks nothing. Spacious rooms, all with spectacular views, comprehensively equipped and furnished complete with two easy chairs, tv, fridge with complimentary drinks etc, easy access wi-Fi...

This is our third stay at Wonderful Miharotia House Kaikoura..the first 2 were in 2009 and this one just last week, Sept. 2013. Not only are the house and rooms beautifully appointed..with a view to the snowcapped mountains overlooking the turquoise sea and emerald green farmland, but the warmth and hospitality of our hosts Polly and Trevor made the difference...

Our trip to Kaikoura was a bit disappointing. Our reason for the visit was to do a whale watching trip and it was cancelled at the last minute because the whales refused to play ball! And Kaikoura, although in a most beautiful setting, is lacking in character and charm to want to hang around. We stayed overnight here prior to...

This was one of those New Zealand lodges that has everything. A charming and welcoming host and hostess, Trevor and Polly, a large and beautifully equipped and furnished bedroom. There was free wifi and a personally cooked breakfast. The breakfast was in fact special in that the menu was different from the usual. Instead of the usual fry-up I had...

We spent 2 nights enjoying the hospitality of Polly and Trevor in their purpose built accomodation, sitting above the town some 15 minutes walk away ( on the way down and a little longer on the way back up!). The accomodation is very comfortable, we stayed in a large room with reclining armchairs in a lounge area, and a seating...

Miharotia is a high-quality B&B in a fairly upmarket, quiet suburb of Kaikoura about 20 minutes walk or so from the shops and restaurants in the town centre. It is a strikingly modern building, both outside and in. Our downstairs room was spacious and comfortable, with a sitting area at one end of the bedroom comprising TV, coffee table and...

A very enjoyable stay at Miharotia thanks Polly and Trevor. A great base for us for whale watching, swimming with dolphins and hiking. We really appreciated Polly offering us a very late and much needed breakfast after our dolphin swim. Her food hit the spot. Good company round the breakfast table, we liked the fact that Trevor was comfortable just...

We enjoyed our time at the Miharotia House. The hosts were very pleasant, and the breakfast was excellent. It was our first night of a two week trip in New Zealand so it was not until later when compared to other lodging that we came to the realization that it was overpriced for what you got. The rooms are nice...

Situated high above the town on a quiet road with great views. Very spacious accommodation . Hosts Trevor and Polly could not have been more friendly or helpful. Great breakfast. Trevor used to be an abalone diver and is very interesting to talk to. Well located for doing the peninsula walk--- 3 hrs approx.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our 18-day circuit of the South Island. Penny and Trevor certainly set a high standard - unobtrusive but very friendly long-term residents who made us welcome and were always ready to share their knowledge or simply to have a chat. The room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable, the scenery was...
