My wife and I (a mature couple with a liking for luxury) stayed two nights at Lemon Tree lodge in February whilst touring the South island. My advice to anyone seriously considering a stay here is "book early to avoid disappointment" as you really do want to be in one of the sea facing rooms to get the best result!...

Le mon tree lodge was a great find very welcoming, good location and lots of really nice touches. Breakfast delivered to your deck/patio was a plus for us. Suggest sea view might be worth asking for although our garden view was great.

We were disappointed with our stay at this small B and B - we were in a 'garden room' which is part of the garage block. While there were some nice arty touches and there was plenty of space the furnishings were quite basic. The garden is lovely but we found the service somewhat indifferent and impersonal. Spent our first 2 nights of our trip at Lemon Tree Lodge. Our Swiss host were fantastic plus they cooked up an excellent breakfast. We stayed in the back "garage" rooms which were very comfortable. Unfortunately the front rooms with the brilliant views were taken but this is where I would stay next time as the views are stunning.

We had a room that had a terrace overlooking the sea, the room itself felt like a beach hut, shabby chic in style. You can walk into town from here but if you want to go to the headland where the seals are you need to drive. The grounds are well tended with lots of lovely flowers.

We spend a couple of days in this accomodation. Nice view over the sea, room was very good. Comfotable bed. Bathroom was excellent. We had a walk in closet. Braekfast was also good. Pity it was served in the room. Al ittle bit unpersonal. You don`t have much opportunity to meet other guest and the owners. A little bit too...

We recently stayed here for just one night and what a shame....... should have been longer!! The rooms were immaculate and well appointed, the veranda over looking the bay was 180 degrees of delight. The chosen breakfast was brought to you on the veranda and it was just idyllic. Lovely Swiss couple who own it were great.

We stayed for one night at Lemon Tree and were very pleased with our choice. We received a lovely welcome and good recommendations for our evening meal. Our Dolphin swimming trip was unfortunately cancelled due to poor weather but our hosts were able to recommend a couple of scenic walks around the Peninsula which were a worthwhile and welcomed replacement...

Very clean, artistic equipped rooms with sea view. Big terrace surrounded by flowers and grass. It was great to rest and eat breakfasts there. Excellent breakfasts served in rooms. That was only place on our NZ route where was coffee machine with coffee packs provided by hosts. Very friendly Swiss couple managing this B&B. Good functioning WiFi.

Kaikoura bit of a cowboy town, but the views from our fantastic room & verandah at Lemon Tree fabulous. 2 nights would have been better. Great welcome & good recommendation for evening meal. Whale Watching a must...but we didn't see any...up very early, 05:30...got a good refund though...
