Only stayed here one night on route to the top of South Island. Did the whale watch ( you need to pre book) which is close by. Beautiful setting and gardens passionately maintained by the owners. Rooms are lovely with fantastic views of the bay - watch the dolphins whilst you eat excellent breakfast delivered to your room. Everything close...

Lemon Tree Lodge is a beautiful place to stay. We loved the decor, terrace overlooking the sea, attractive gardens and quirky art work around the grounds. Breakfast was good with ample choice, coffee maker of good quality, bathroom stylish and bed comfortable.

When you step into the grounds, you find yourself in a surprising, gorgeous oasis lovingly crafted by the owners. We stayed in accommodation on the street side of the block (though heard not traffic noises at all), overlooking the communal garden area, which was very tranquil. We found our rooms to be clean, modern and well equipped. Ivor was a...

This place is located ideally: really close to town centre of Kaikoura where it all happens, but at the same time quiet and with a great ocean view while it's a bit higher located than all the fuzz. We had a really comfy ocean view room which is located in front of a nice garden. There's a jacuzzi for the...

Very accommodating and sweet hosts. Very short walk to the main downtown area, the place itself sits above the downtown area and has gorgeous ocean views. Very comfortable rooms and good homemade breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Had 2 nights at Lemon Tree, just felt so much welcome. Nice big room with separate siting area, a nice balcony with a great view over the sea. One morning we woke up to hundreds of dolphins playing in the bay. We also took the whale watching trip, it was ok, a bit to crowded for my taste, but well...

My husband and I stayed at the Lemon Tree for 2 nights in March on our big birthday trip to NZ. Rosemarie & Ivo were excellent hosts, our sea view room was beautifully furnished and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was a lovely touch delivered to our room by Ivo. Sadly we were unable to go whale watching due...

My wife and I (a mature couple with a liking for luxury) stayed two nights at Lemon Tree lodge in February whilst touring the South island. My advice to anyone seriously considering a stay here is "book early to avoid disappointment" as you really do want to be in one of the sea facing rooms to get the best result!...

Le mon tree lodge was a great find very welcoming, good location and lots of really nice touches. Breakfast delivered to your deck/patio was a plus for us. Suggest sea view might be worth asking for although our garden view was great.
