We stayed here for one night in order to go whale watching but our trip was cancelled due to bad weather. Our room was fine, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Centre of town for restaurants etc is just down hill past the church by a walkway. We have a Border Terrier called Jack so it was...

We arrived well after check in time due to error by travel agent. All local restaurants closed. They found us food & drink which they need not have done. View from bedroom window next morning was amazing. Breakfasts excellent. Free mini bar as well.

Thanks so much for your review. We could not have our guests going hungry (its not the kiwi way) and were happy to provide a sandwich.

Love it, very accommodating, friendly hosts both Quentin and Jane. Nothing like good rivalry with Kiwis against the Aussies and of course what comes up is the Rugby. Great place to stay, central, and such a lovely touch.

We just love that Kiwi / Aussi banter. All in good fun of course, we just love our neighbours! Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks a lot for the review.

Arrived a little late due to incident on the road. Excellent hosts and a very well appointed room. Breakfast in the morning was very good and they do what I think is best in a b&b is sit everyone on a long ta Le which encourages conversation. Short walk downhill for dinner.

Got a reduced rate late booking, no view from the room but who needs it? No more than 20 feet from our room was a patio with just as good a view. Jane and Quentin are amazing hosts, booked our dinner reservations for us while we were out having fun. Also their including breakfast was phenomenal. Room is on the...

A lovely B & B with a very friendly couple in Quentin and Jane running it. Nothing too much trouble. Free drinks a lovely touch, excellent breakfasts. Our only problem was that we had a downstairs room which frankly should not be used for guests. It was by far the smallest room we stayed in during 3 weeks of NZ...

We are happy you appreciated our free beer and wine and enjoyed our breakfasts. We are sorry you were unhappy staying in the Seahorse room. It is described on our website as a "Ground floor standard room" and we also state that it does not have a view. We will make sure that when we update our website that we...

My husband and I are +65 and touring New Zealand using the public trains and buses so we need to be mindful of the location of our accommodation. Nikau Lodge was right on. Quitin offered to pick us up and drop us off at the train, perfect. The have well equipped rooms and the fridge was full of goodies for...

Warm welcome, beautiful room, excellent breakfast. What could I add? Thank you very much. Quentin gave us good indications for a charming walk along the cliff, and a complete review of all restaurants in Kaikoura: we appreciated.

After our journey from Christchurch to Kaikoura we checked into Nikau Lodge. Our hosts were most welcoming and made us feel at home . Our room was very spacious with a fantastic bathroom, but the most outstanding feature was the view from our room, Wow ! House and gardens were very lovely. Our breakfasts were fabulous and eaten around a...

Warm welcome from Quentin, who was very helpful, pointing us in the right direction to the best restaurants and features of the area. The B&B is on a hill on the edge of the town with a great view of the town and the Pacific Ocean. Breakfast freshly cooked by Quentin and Jane was delicious.
