This was a 2-day splurge, on our 25-year anniversary, 3-week tour of New Zealand and it was everything we hoped for. Private, intimate, peaceful and luxurious. You have to know that everything about this resort is sublime. We kept noticing new details each day and loved all the custom woodwork. There is something special about knowing you are nestled high...

Absolutely fantastic!!! Scores 10 out of 5 at least in our opinion! We were welcomed on arrival, shown around, and shown to our tree house. Wow - what an experience! Lovely room, with views of the mountains and the olive grove, with the sea in the distance. Classical music playing when we opened the door. Complimentary bottle of wine in...

Because a mistake of the resort booking system, we could not sleep in a tree top the 1st night (they offered the diner to our group of 6 to forgive...) bur then we went up in the tree top rooms. Very original, rustic but beautiful and large room and bath room. We took 2 diners there and the food was...

This is the second stop on our family vacation to the South Island and what a choice indeed. We are staying in a two sorry luxury tree-house which the brochures definitely undersold. It is Eco designed and all the luxurious touches are under-stated but add to the overall experience. Even the thought that has been our into the comfort of...

We spent 1 night in one of the family top tree with our 7 years old son. It was so good that we though our stay was definitely too short. Everything was strictly perfect. From the magnificent view on the sea on one side of the room and the mountains on the other side, the architecture of the house, the...

We loved the tree houses, which were beautifully appointed with log burning fires and stunning views. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was overly fussy and with a limited menu we found the evening meals a bit of an ordeal. Just sometimes when your travelling wonderful ingredients cooked simply make the best evenings. Sadly for us the...

We have stayed in many lovely hotels throughout the world. Hapuku Lodge is one of our all time favorites! We stayed several days and wished we could have stayed longer - stunning views, beautifully appointed rooms and well thought out details. The Koru woo/possum/silk cover on the bed is amazing and may be purchased in the gift shop. The food...

We stayed overnight in Kaikoura in our journeys through the South Island solely to stay at the tree house in Hapuku Lodge -- it was worth it! Lovely property, great room, perfect in all of the details. The food was wonderful, and the hosts were friendly and always ready to assist. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so we were...

We stayed in one of the tree houses and they are stunning. One of the best rooms we have ever stayed in, with fantastic views, fireplace in the room and a deck for looking into the very dark night sky. The on site management team bent over backwards to give us the best service possible and the food was absolutely...
