My husband and I stayed there for a couple of nights during our self driven tour through New Zealand. During our tour, we also stayed other luxury accommodations (The George in Christchurch and Bay of Many Coves in Marlborough Sound) in New Zealand. We ended up in a huge suite in the main lodge as all the tree houses were... More

What a wonderful, relaxing and charming get away near the busy town of Kiakoura, where you can go whale or dolphin watching. We stayed in a tree house here - pure luxury in stunning surroundings. With the distant snow capped mountains and nearby fields of deer and rabbits on one side and the sea in the distance across lovely scenery... More

We booked a tree house as a special get-away for 2 nights during a recent trip to Christchurch. The room was charming and all the first class amenities and innovative design that we were hoping for. The shower was out over the trees with a view of the olive orchard. The spa bath was wall to wall glass. There was... More

We would give this place a higher rating if the room rate was more realistic or the level of service and amenities significantly higher. The hotel is located essentially on the side of highway/main road into the Kaikoura area. The grounds around the hotel are very well maintained and provide interest. The room was a very nice size with an... More

Overall I was very content with our stay at Hapuku Lodge but a few items were sticking points for me. Food here is very good but comparing to some other high end lodges we stayed at that also had their own chefs I felt Hapuku was just shy of them. Service is attentive but we now come to my main... Hapuku was such a treat! Having been to Kidnappers Cove and Huka Lodge we were not expecting this to be of such a standard......but it was. The tree house room we had was absolutely beautiful. See view in one direction and mountains the other. Very comfortable bed and huge bath. Free beer and local wine in the room topped it... More

Although the weather didn't really play ball, Hapuku Lodge was stunning. The food was amazing and I loved all the open fires. The view of the ocean and the mountains was amazing and I even got treated to a rainbow!

I recently had the fortune to dine at Hapuku Lodge. This lodge comes with great reviews and so I looked forward to dining there as a treat. My friend and I were not disappointed. From the minute we arrived we were greeted and ushered to our table and pampered for the the ensuing 3 hours. The restaurant provided us with... More

We have just spent 3 nights at this fantastic lodge. The place was absolutely beautiful. The food and drink selection was spot on for the location. Being able to wake up in the morning with a fire going and being able to look to the left and see the snow covered mountains and to look right and see the ocean,... More

Had a relaxing stay here in our lofty room. The room was comfortable and well set out with views on both sides. There were deer and mountains on one side and the sea was in the distance on the other. The room had a TV and a fridge with a cold beer and it was only a short walk to... More
