I had a very comfortable stay here in April 2014. I was travelling alone, arrived and departed by train, and the spacious motel room would have accommodated four comfortably. The walk from the station took about 15 minutes and I appreciated being offered a lift by the motel owners when I checked out. Kaikoura is a true, small seaside town... More

Had a great nights stay here in April. Spotlessly clean unit and the bed was very comfortable - they even brought a BBQ over for us to use. Owner was really welcoming, and we were not bothered by any noise. An added bonus was the New World next door.

We had booked a few months ago for a few days away from another recent bouts of earthquakes. The unit was roomy enough, but our one ,no 12 got no sun at any stage of the day. The carpet was very stained and looked quite grubby. Free wifi was random on/ off... Walls very thin and we could here neighbours... More

We stayed a night here on our way up to Nelson. We had three cabins (three couples). The owner at who was at reception was lovely and helpful. Our cabins were ready when we arrived. We were given a choice of light or full cream fresh milk and also a wi-fi code ( there is a limit on wi-fi downloads),... More

Had a room near the railway track, the trains do run though the night albeit on a reduced service every few hours. Our room was about 100 meters from the track and the trains are very noisy. The room was tired and WiFi reception (Zenbu) was poor with a 200MB limit!!!!

The cottage was in severe need of a make over. The interiour was worn and dirty. The bedroom was tiny. The bathroom was a joke. Directly behind our cottage ran a heavy trafic railroad, which made it impossible to sleep for more than an hour at the time. Only positive note was the very friendly owners.

Staff very friendly. Accommodation was nice and roomy. We had 3 beds, a double and two singles, even though there were only two of us. Kitchen well equipped. Nice and pleasant to be able to sit outside. In a good location.

Nothing special but clean and comfortable for an overnight stay in Kaikoura. Nicely decorated room. Bathroom space small but works well enough. Plenty of car parking and good guest laundry. Excellent hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

We stayed here over Christmas and it was okay. It didn't seem as clean as some of the other places we stayed throughout NZ. The kitchen is communal and it didn't seem like it was well taken care of. We weren't that comfortable using the communal kitchen or what we had in the room. Location was alright. We spent the... More

If you are just looking for somewhere to stop off this motel will serve your needs. It was very clean and tidy and had everything I needed but it is dated and the price was high for what you got but then Kaikoura in summer seems to be a licence to print money. The motel is very close to the... More
