First impressions weren't the best, the place and sorrounding area was deserted however was welcomed by a pleasant man (duty manager I think) who showed us around. Once people came in to the bar and the other guests started to arrive the atmosphere really picked up and we ended up having a lovely stay. Free pool was good as we...

We got to the parking lot of this "hotel" and couldn't even bring ourselves to get out of the car. We prepaid and still decided that it was better to lose out on the cost and get another hotel room than stay here. Extremely run down, landscaping overgrown, dirt "parking lot", garage overflowing with junk right next to the rooms....

Country pub with free pool table and dodgy wifi but you pay for what you get. If you need somewhere reasonaly cheap and just a place to lay your head then this is an ok option. It has a kitchen for guests to cook their meals, but didnt have any option for buying a cooked meal on the premises. I...

We were staying close by on a wet evening in Rapahoe when we needed somewhere to have a meal. We drove towards Graymouth and quite by chance came across the sign to Dunollie Castle Hotel. We can not speak highly enough of the welcome or standard of food that we ate. It was Asian cuisine but all cooked fresh order....

A little gem tucked away 1 km west off state highway 73 between Rapahoe and Runanga north of Greymouth by about ten minutes. It is nestled under some low hills with plenty of surrounding greenery and has a nice deck for outdoor seating and is tastefully furnished inside. Chose from a good menu of Chinese dishes and was not disappointed...

As a kiwi myself a little bit disappointed because this wasn't NZ hospitality quite at its best. My friend and self had a drink but did not get the relaxation desired as the man at the bar was listening to us and projected his opinions about everything. The food was fresh and well cooked but one of us got a...

This was the most interesting stay of our whole holiday! The locals are very "interesting" indeed! The owner is helpful which is good. It's a 30 min drive to Greymouth and Punakaiki. The accommodation is old very fashioned, there was a sink in our room, but you had to share the bathroom and showers which are down the corridor. You...
