Had a pretty miserable experience there; room was right off the highway and extremely noisy from street traffic; could not sleep at all. Owner Bernie is a nice enough chap and helpful with info on the sights to see and his restaurant was fair to good and the beach is close by but the motel (not hotel) room was old,...

Although we didn't stay in the rooms we ate and socialized in the bar. Our roast meals were very mundane and I would not want to experience that level of poor food again in a hurry. The vegetables were bland and the meat was so dry, this was not a cheap meal either. Just one more thing when the bar...

Fine dining with value for money in the most comfortable of atmospheres shared with the pleasantly of staff. The Beef and Reef cooked and prepared by Olivia was to die for, soooo good. Can't wait to return again.

I booked this hotel mainly on the strength of its positive reviews here on TripAdvisor, and I am glad to say that my expectations were exceeded. The Paroa Hotel has been in operation under the same family's ownership for over 63 years and over three generations, and you can tell because it's run with a loving care and attention that...

Stayed here last minute as unfortunately my wife was in Greymouth hospital. Alan and his team were so helpful and accommodating, fantastic. I stayed in a motel room which was finished to a very high standard, the complex also includes a great restaurant and bar. Really sorry we couldn't have stayed longer.

We stayed overnight on our way from Invercargill to Picton. Friendliest staff and hosts, rooms comfortable with the comfy-est bed. Meals tasty, great menu choices in a friendly environment. If there's any constructive feedback it's that showers a bit pokey and room a little stuffy. All good though, sliders onto a small deck allowed good air flow. We'd definitely come...

They just redid the rooms and they are awesome. Light switches where you want them, lots of electrical outlets, fast wifi, sizable TVs, and a short walk to the beach. You know that feeling when you get to a family owned place and everything feels friendly and well thought out? This is the place. The shower head is awesome. Weird...

I made a last minute booking to stay here after driving over Arthur's Pass towards the end of the day I checked in about 15 minutes after the booking was made. This is a family run hotel. I got to meet the father and son. They were both delightful to deal with. The warmth and level of care they showed...

Spent 1 night here. The checkin was smooth. The hotel also has a massive bar and restaurant. The reception is also a bottle shop.. the room and bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a reburish.. we had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The food was above average. The bacon at breaky was nice and crispy (Loved...
