Sadly Greymouth was pretty rainy and grey on our visit here, but this hostel was nice and warm and accommodating. The room was nice, warm, spacious and clean (our sheets smelled great) and the kitchen facilities were nice. The free wifi codes were a bonus too. The staff were helpful and friendly, more than happy to help us out with...

Exactly what a backpackers should be. We had a really wonderful time at this hostel thanks to the extremely helpful friendly owners. We got picked up from the train station and taken to the hostel and also Russell helped us with some paperwork we needed for our travels. All the facilities you could wish for are at this hostel, the...

We stayed there for one night 2 months ago as we were biking the south island. We went through the different backpackers in town, and this one was the best! Very colourful and pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are great and make you feel like you are travelling the world. There is a nice garden along the river and you can...

There's not much to do in Greymouth, it's more a stop before Paparoa or Nelson but this hostel well worth staying in! It's filled with sculptures, paintings, memorabilia from different countries around the world, heaps of maps. The room are really comfortable and for good value. Everything feels very homey and modern. Staff is awesome too, helpful and kind. It...

Stayed there the first time in 2006 and then several times after that. We thought it was great then, but never reviewed it. Now it's 2015 and stayed there again. I thought for sure it would have aged and deteriorated. Not so. It is still as clean and welcoming as it was many years ago. It is the most quiet,...

We were likely the eldest folks there but had fun. The pre-bookiing was a blessing as the facility was fully hooked. Our welcome included a good overview of the area from sunset views to eateries. Our room and the shared washrooms were spotless. The conversation with other travels in the roomy lounge was a marvelous collection of shared experiences. The...

As soon as we arrived at this hostel (after a 10 hour journey) we felt welcomed. The man behind the desk was friendly and informative, sharing advice about things to do in the area and offering tips, like going down to the beach at sunset. The decor was great and the place was also really clean and spacious. Our bed...

We stayed in a 5-bed dormroom and it was really tidy and clean. I´ve never seen such a nice bathroom in a hostel! Also the kitchen is really nice...
