I booked this place as it was cheap and just down the road from where I had to be while I was staying here. I got to stay in one of the rooms that had been done up which was nice. Just the water temperature in the shower kept going from hot to cold all the time

Yes, this hotel is cheap but even at a low price I can't say you really get much for your money. Our room didn't resemble anything like those on the website, it was tatty and full of trailing cables, wifi was almost non-existent. Water temperature was variable in the evening and verging on very chilly in the morning....not a good...

We needed somewhere affordable for a family of five, and pretty much a last minute booking. For under $150 for five, it was certainly value for money - and included wifi, which kept the teens happy! The bathroom and linens were all clean - but it could have done with a really thorough clean (wee bit dusty on the furniture,...

We stayed here one night to catch up with family, the hotel itself is very interesting with a lot of old photo's on the walls and vintage knick knacks. We were looking forward to staying the night in the "grand rooms" which were on the website we were booking through, instead we were in another wing out the back which...

We ordered a vegetable pie and salad a veggie burger with chips. The burger and the trimming was huge with a generous portion of chips. The vegetation pie was also of a decent size. Great service in an almost empty bar. Tasty beer. C

Looked like the bathroom had not been cleaned for who knows how long! Hairs in the bottom of the shower stall, along the edge of the shower doors, drain in the shower was dirty. Soap scum. Complained to the manager, he came up to clean it with apologies and blamed the other staff for their inability to do their job...

I just had to write a review to compliment the bar staff at the Grand Irish Bar. Not only did they arrange for one of their boyfriends to give us a lift back to our motel when a thunderstorm hit complete with torrential rain, but then phoned our motel to tell us we had left mobile phone and specs behind....

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting Wanganui- the hotel is lovely and the setting is perfect. The hotel has an Irish bar which has a relaxed atmosphere and does lovely food - well worth a stay. The location is also perfect and central to all shops and amenities.

We stayed in the upgraded (Modern) rooms at the rear of the Hotel. If there was a rating of good then we would have opted for that. I am sure there are better but at the price for this accommodation then it was better than average but short of very good. Clean, tidy, quiet good friendly service. The building is...

We came here to eat and drink Guinness and were not disappointed. The food was huge and great value. I had lamb shanks and the meat just fell off the bone. My offsider had the fish and chips but with pan fried instead of battered and she said it was very good indeed. If you are looking for no nonsense,...
