We choose the Coastal Motor lodge for our trip to Coromandel and know it was a good decision. We were warmly welcomed and offered useful advice for our stay. Although we were not in the newer rooms as seen on the website we had a great space with good kitchen and because of this choose to cook in. The lodge...

We are doing a big tour of NZ, north yo south. Our first stopover is Thames-Coromandel. We have never been on this part of NZ so it was exciting to go somewhere different. We booked Coastal motor lodge, it's not over the top budget and good for family holiday. Our 2bdr cabin was more than enough with 2 small kids....

Thank you for your review The cabins have been here since this motel was built, so the oldest part. They are lovely cabins and as you say, perfect for families. Thank you for review. Kerry

Lovely motel in great location overlooking the water. Quick drive into Thames where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Good sized room with small lounge area and separate kitchen. Free wifi and comfy bed. Suited our purpose for one night stay.

We have stayed here before as we visit family in Thames occasionally. The motel has however changed hands since we were last here. We were only staying one night and booked this ages ago. We arrived around 5pm after driving for about five hours from further up north. Check in was a breeze and we were happy to get into...

It was "NZ good" as far as hotels go. Located a short jaunt from the town and with a nice view of the bay. Nothing fancy room wise though, quite simple. There is no heating / AC so come prepared. There were some small personal space heaters though.

We pulled into this place late in the afternoon, hopeful that we could find a place to stay for the night after a frustrating day of travel and research. We were fortunate to get a studio unit for the night and we were very glad that we did. A great place to stay, tidy and clean, well set out with...

no seriously, i had no idea what to expect. I arrived right before they were going to lock up the reception, and saw it in the dark. Generally Cabin style stuff doesn't really fly, but they have done a great job with this. Immaculate, stylish, spacious, modern bathroom. Right on the bay basically. Price was right, location was just north...

Good location, just north of Thames, looking out on the coast. We stayed in the "sea view family unit". It was spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds with electric blankets. There was also a comfortable sofa and armchairs. Looking out from the balcony, one can enjoy a sea view framed by mature trees. On the downside...

Very large room with cooking facilities (no breakfast provided). Quality bed and amenities. Right under trees with excellent views of the bay and sunset. Close to Thames (check Farmers in main street) and to Coromandel via a lovely scenic road (Had dinner at Success cafe. Excellent meal and service). An excellent night.
