Quirky place with a bit of a tricky access. Lovely view from the room. Breakfast was really nice & delivered right on time. We had access to seating just outside. There was a pool & spa but we didn't really have time to enjoy them this time. The owners were a lovely family.

What a fantastic spot perched high above the town and surrounding landscape! We had planned staying only one night but quickly changed our minds so that we could explore the Coromandel Peninsula and return for another night. The rooms were like a villa style with spectacular views. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean with a yummy breakfast available....

On a rainy trip with floods further up the peninsula, this was an amazing compensation. Separate little timber cottages sit high on the hill overlooking Thames with a view back over the whole estuary. Yes, high on the hill, so driving is pretty essential. We were upgraded to split level cottage but the initial booking was as well-serviced and, if...

My son and I stayed in about 9 hotels over about 2 weeks and this by far was the most pleasant of them all on the whole trip. It was incredibly warm-hearted, welcoming, clean and very comfortable. Wish we could've stayed more than just the one night. I can't recommend this highly enough.

We stayed for one night in August. We were thrilled to be upgraded on arrival and to be offered homemade biscuits and baileys!! Glenda was an excellent host and couldn't have done any more to make our stay lovely, even bringing extra towels when she could see we'd been in the hot tub. Fantastic views from the balcony. We'd definitely...

The position of the rooms is amazing - if you're coming to Thames then don't stay down in town. Grafton is a short drive up the hill and gives you a great view over the town and bay. The rooms are a little tired, but well laid out and equipped. Be sure to know what you want for breakfast the...

The owners Alby & Rachel were very hospitable & even when they left on a trip, the person they left in charge was superb, worked hard to please us, and was very effective. We stayed in Kauri Chalet 5 and each morning breakfast was delivered (similar to continental breakfast). The location in Thames was excellent allowing us a convenient location...

Two families shared adjoining cottages which were clean and elegantly decorated. Rachel was friendly and helpful. The continental style breakfast even satisfied our teenagers! We didn't have time to test the hot tub, but found the units comfortable and relaxing.

Stayed one night and wish it was longer. Met by Glenda who was wonderful, so welcoming and warm towards us, genuinely interested in you having a nice time. Took our little dog with us too whom also had a great time. Room was clean, comfortable and had lovely view. Next time will remember my bathers for the spa! Would recommend...

Fantastic location high on the hill overlooking Thames and the bay, expansive views from all chalets. The hosts were lovely, very helpful and made this three-night stay a special way to finish a fabulous holiday.
