Booked a garden suite for a weekend 'down south' and wished we could have stayed longer. Set back from Caves Road, with easy access to Margaret River and the local area this property is the epitomy of a country lodge. From the moment we booked to packing up the car to leave, onsite host Angus displayed outstanding hospitality and ensured...

Everything from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was fantastic. This place is like something out of "Country Style" magazine. Angus was incredibly helpful (he even helped carry our bags to the room). The views from our room amazing. Definitely going back.

We booked a 3 night stay at Gilgara Retreat in August during our Western Australia getaway. What an absolute highlight. We stayed in one of the studios separate to the homestead, and found them to be fabulous!! The design, architecture, and furnishings were beautiful, with wonderful attention to detail. The lounge, dining and kitchen of the homestead are warm and...

Had a wonderful long weekend at Gilgara Retreat, everything was just perfect. The garden villas are very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable and cosy and look out over beautiful gardens. We were invited to use the facilities at the main house and enjoyed drinks and 'huge' cookies by the roaring fire every afternoon on our return from a day out....

We stayed at Gilgara Retreat over the weekend and it was so amazing. We could not fault our stay at all! You pull up the driveway and feel like you're home. The garden suites are simply beautiful. The furniture in the suite and main house are contemporary and make you actually want to sit in them- unlike every other place...

Have just returned from a fantastic weekend down at Gilgara. We stayed in one of the Garden Suites and absolutely loved everything about it. The suites are really tastefully decorated, with everything you need and more.. (including an amazing deep spa bath!). The host, Angus, went out of his way to be helpful and definitely contributed to the welcoming, friendly...

We wanted a last minute 2 day break in the south of WA, Australia and stumbled across the lovely Gilgara Retreat. What a lucky find! We stayed in the main house and did not see the other accommodation, so cannot comment on that. Firstly, we were impressed with the communication from Gilgara before we even arrived, mentioning the change to...

We had a wonderful week at Gilgara. A lovely unit in the beautiful grounds, deep bath, delicious breakfast, kind and helpful proprietor, not to mention the evenings by the fire at the homestead. Would highly recommend Gilgara as a comfortable and convenient place to stay near Margaret River.

Had a really nice weekend there. Garden suites are lovely. Clean, tidy and very modern. Beautiful views and Angus the owner was very friendly and accomodating. A little bit out of town but very easy to get a taxi both ways. Will probably come back. Overall a perfect place for a relaxing weekend.

Great host. Great accommodation. Great fireplace. I recently stayed at Gilgara homestead and loved it. The host, Angus, went out of his way to welcome me. From the fireplace in the lounge room to the air-con in the bedroom, the house was warm and toasty all day and all night. I was pleasantly surprised to find a comfy king-sized bed...
