Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked Margarets Beach Resort when booking our trip to Australia. We drove down from Perth and were due to spend 6 days. We had booked a 2 bed apartment. On arrival we were more than pleased. The apartment was a really good size and equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms were light and bright and extremely comfy and, unlike some we have stayed in, had ample storage so it was great to fully unpack. The accommodation is only a 5min walk from a glorious beach and on site there is a really good pub. The pool area was well looked after and was a great place to stop off at on returning from the beach. We were due to leave after 6 days and fly to Port Douglas, however, due to Cyclone Jasper making land, that second leg of our trip was cancelled. We thought we would be left stranded. However, the reception staff at the resort could not have been more helpful. They arranged for us to extend our stay, assisted us in extending our car rental and really helped put our minds at rest in what was a difficult time. We tend to visit Aus every 4-5 yrs and if staying in Margaret River again, would have no hesitation in returning to this resort.

We booked a 2 bed apartment initially between the 5th -11th Dec 2033. I say initially as due to Cyclone Jasper hitting Port Douglas, which should've been our next stop, we had to extend our stay at the apartment for an extra 4 days. Just want to thank the reception staff for all their help during our hour of need, without them we would've been homeless for that period of time. The apartment itself was fantastic, really well equipped, clean and felt like home from home. The resort is ideally situated just 500mts from the beach and the onsite Pub was a great place to chill out. Our apartment overlooked the car park, which wasn't any problem, and unlike some reviews, we never heard any latenight noise during our stay. The resort can also book local winery tours from reception. The only 'must have' has to be a car, otherwise you are stuffed. This was our first visit to WA, and when we return we would have no hesitation booking this resort again.

So disappointed, paid 800 for a dirty studio, 2 nights, 2 towels no cleaning! Had to buy towels in town. Bedding dirty from previous stays, no views, air conditioning loud and in need of service. Overall paid for 4 plus star and really got 2 at a push!

Didn't know we'd booked to stay on a "16-18" resort complex (forget 18-30).... noise between 0130- 0300 could be disturbing for us older folks. But they were all good mannered & exploring their youth... so good on them....(oh to be young again) Actually think walls/ceilings cardboard with plaster on them.....someone early said "zilch" noise insulation (great word)... I'd prefer to say..." non existence" That all said... the place is good & in a great location....they're there to make money....& I can't fault the man.... but its not for oldies. Price.... if I came to this region again.....I'd look for better value elsewhere... ( yes ....a travel company booked it for us.....they won't be booking anything again for us.... are young children...yes) Did enjoy the bar/food on site.

Just finished a seven night stay here as we walked the Cape to Cape Track. Very clean accommodations with everything we needed. We very much appreciated the extra towels and laundry detergent that we needed after our daily walks! A Nespresso coffee machine would be welcome but that would be icing on the cake.

Very tired needs modernising . Not value for money noisy , basic . No indication on booking site that a spa apt had no walk in shower . No warm atmosphere cold and functional . Very hard and dangerous to climb over bathtub to have a shower . Certainly not 4 1/2* . No hand rails to hold onto to climb stairs ! Better value resorts around !

Wonderful place. Very clean and spacious. Friendly atmosphere and set in a serene environment. The owner was a dude, made us feel welcome and paid attention to the kids. Pool great and pub on-site awesome. A 5 min drive to town and a short drive to the beaches. Would happy return

Agree with other comments the place needs a good renovation and replacement of lots of things. I cleaned the fan vent in the bathroom as it was clogged with dust and dirt. Maybe because I did that the next morning there was a huge spider dangling from the vent. Not being used to spiders it New Zealand, it was very large for us. Aluminium windows and sliders need replacing. The bath over the shower is not good for elderly people. Had to put a flannel on the bottom of the bath so I didn't slip. The worse part, even though it doesn't belong to the complex, the noise coming from THE COMMON bar and cafe on Saturday and Sunday nights. Even though it wasn't late, it was so loud it felt like it was right in our unit. The soundproofing from the apartment above is Zilch. Another couple in the block further away said they got the noise of the street traffic running down the side of the complex. Comfy Beds, linen and towels very good.

Great resort right amongst all the beaches and wineries. Great pool area, definitely recommend the Commons for dinner and sunset drinks. Beach across the road had a great cafe right on the sand, stunning beach, plenty of room for everyone. Great rooms, with balconies, just perfect
