We had a very enjoyable two weeks at the Edge of the Forest Motel at the beginning of March. For most of the time we had room 6 at the back overlooking the garden. Heard one guest say that this was the cleanest motel she had ever been in and I would not wish to argue with that. The owners/hosts Alan and Denise go out of their way to smooth out any minor difficulties which could reduce your enjoyment eg supplying beach towels and a bag to foreign visitors, providing a needle and thread so I could make a running repair on my purse, always being available for excellent advice on what to see and do. It is an easy ride into town in spite of the many current road works. Easy too to drive to the beach at Prevelly along the road almost opposite the motel. High points of our stay included Busselton with its jetty, historic court house and evocative Wonnerup House, the lovely country town of Nannup, lunch at the Flute winery restaurant and dinner at the Arc of Iris restaurant, watching bathers interacting with rays at Hamelen Bay, photographing kangaroos at Keevil Road, swimming at Flinders Bay in Augusta followed by a two hour boat trip on the Blackwood River, visiting the weekly Farmers’ Market, breakfast on the veranda adjacent to our room while spotting ringed parrots and honeyeaters.. Parking is easy, breakfast crockery is dealt with by room servicing. Room 6 probably has the weakest broadband but still two bars so not a major problem. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful review. We were so pleased to have had you both stay and equally pleased that you enjoyed it so much. We were only too pleased to supply beach towels and offer tips on what to see and do. You certainly did get out and about and enjoyed all that we have to offer. Thank you for the camera lesson too :) :) Regards Denise & Alan

Stayed here for 2 nights. Easy accomodation to find as you enter Margaret River. Accomodation is clean and well maintained and the bathroom was very modern.

The gardens around the motel are well maintained and as the motel is located on the highway, they block out all the noise.

Operator of the motel Steve was lovely. Always up for a chat and provided great tour options and information regarding food and beverage locations near by.

The motel is in a great easy walking location to the Main Street of town, close to restaurants and conveniences, and right next door pretty much to the local brewery for a great dinner and drink.

Wonderful Stay and thanks to Steve and his team. Very much looking forward to heading west again soon and bringing some others to stay here.

Very clean and well appointed room in an excellent location. A lot of hotels and motels seem to have little anomalies (especially in bathrooms) where you think "why did they do it that way", but I can't think of any here, so that some thought has gone into the room setup. A short walk round the back takes you to the Brewhouse where I had an excellent Pizza and sampled some beers in a tasting paddle. Discounts are on offer and I got a 10% discount for an excellent evening meal at Morries. The (temporary) hosts, Andrew and Anne, were very helpful and gave good advice on a little trip to the beach at nearby Prevelly.

Loved our 3 night stay here. The rooms are some of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and had little thoughtful extras that make a big difference such as electric blankets, power boards either side of the bed for phone and iPad charging and heat lamps in the bathrooms. Check in and check out was easy, Steve was so lovely and helpful. The garden is lovely with a nice sitting/bbq area with fairy lights. Basically we loved everything about the place and are looking forward to go back!

My husband and I love this motel, we always come here on our trips, only six rooms, so very peaceful and quiet. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious, with everything you need including a microwave and toaster. There is a beautiful little communal garden with a lush lawn, surrounded by shady trees, a perfect spot to sit and chill out or read a book, enjoy a glass of wine. There are many walking trails around the motel, which is great, you can leave the car behind. One very short trail leads you to the Margaret River Brewery, good food, good beer, a fire, love this place. The owner Steve is very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, he has a good knowledge of the local area. We highly recommend this beautiful little motel, such a relaxing place to stay.

I have stayed here before with a friend 2 years ago and we loved it. So this time I booked again with another friend.
From the outset, the booking was easy, Denise and Alan emailed us to see if we needed assistance with restaurant bookings due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
When we arrived, check in was fast and Denise recognised me from last time.
The rooms are clean, comfy and cosy with little touches such as electric blankets and local restaurant menus - not something you get in other places. The beds are comfortable which is important to me.
We went out on the first night and Denise managed to get us into a local tapas bar. The second night after a day of exploring, we brought some food back and sat out on the small deck enjoying the quiet.
The motel is on the busy Bussell Hwy and we had room 6 but you barely hear any of the noise from the highway.
It was a lovely stay and highly recommended. We will be back! Thanks once again.

Our hosts Denise & Alan were very nice folk and accomodating. The motel/room met our expectations as was as described. Really cant fault this place, our Room #3 was on the side of the building facing near the 4-5 car park bay & shurbery i wouldnt really describe at the front. We had a small deck outside the entry door with 2 chairs and a small table, we just squeezed in. Lovely setting. Room & bathroom very clean; modern bathroom décor and supply of toiletries, air freshener, fly spray (a few extras dont usually find). Do wish there was a couch or 2 lounge chairs to sit at of an evening if you wanted to watch TV/Film/DVD its not easy for me to sit up in bed - the room poss could have fitted this if bed was position against bathroom wall. Would stay again.

Edge of the Forrest Motel is located on the edge of Margaret River, walking distance to all the town facilities.
A small complex with beautiful gardens, loads of character and spotlessly clean,
Steve the owner is extremely friendly and accommodating.
All in all, a great place.

This place is everything you need for the perfect stay in Margaret River! It’s walking distance to the town centre, with a beautiful secluded bush walk at the back door. Next door to a fantastic brewery, and distillery, this motel is situated in the ideal location! The rooms were very clean and spacious, and included many small welcomed extras to make the stay memorable and cosy. The staff were so lovely and personable, attending to any need with a smile on their face! Fantastic communal bbq area positioned within a leafy green courtyard. Each room has its own outdoor seating area, which is secluded from other guests. This accomodation is such a hidden gem, making you feel relaxed and off the beaten track. The wonderful staff, amazing location and enchanting greenery have made this experience very memorable! We cannot recommend EOTF enough! We will be back :)

Due to Covid-19 we were not able to travel to Margaret River WA for the Anzac Day long weekend. We called them and asked if it was possible to get a refund on the deposit we paid. The answer was yes and the money was back in our account a few days later. We will use the Edge of the Forest Motel & Cottage when we will be able to travel again. The men we spoken to on the phone was very nice and accomodating.
