We really enjoyed staying here as it is modern, well appointed and in a very secluded and quiet location within the forest. We all had our own room and the living room is gigantic. A good laundry too! Saw a few kangaroos while walking around the property.

We looked at quite a few properties before deciding that Acacia Chalets was the one for us. Having visitors from the UK, we not only wanted to give them a taste of what the Margaret River Region can offer but also in a style and comfort that they would appreciate. Acacia Chalets didn't disappoint.
We had chalet 4 - the largest of the chalets- which offered three bedrooms and two bathrooms and has views overlooking the dam, to the rear. very spacious living/dining areas and a lovely large verandah /al- fresco for outside entertaining. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water too, so what more could you ask? Although located in a peaceful backwater, it was literally 10 mins drive into Margs main street (pity they have the road up at the moment), for all your eats and drinks needs.
Luckily, we managed to get our holiday in before the close off and we are very glad we did! A sensational stay, which our UK visitors raved over. Superb!

As a groups of 4, 2 couples we found the Chalet to be super clean and comfortable. There was nothing else we needed bar our own personal belongings, everything was provided even a washing machine!
The entire chalet was spacious, the beds were warm and comfortable, very relaxing.
The owner Dean who i dealt with the most was very friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. Even though we never met in person, he genuinely took the time for us.
Happy to recommend the chalets to others.

Although I cannot review the actual property, I can review the lack of service and assistance we received from the current owners. We booked our weekend away in October 2019, paying one night’s deposit as requested. When COVID 19 kicked in we cancelled the reservation well inside their 7 days cancellation policy. I apologised to the owner, however due to Government restrictions we were unable to travel. The sad thing about this is at no time did the owner offer a solution or a refund and in fact never answered my emails and was rather rude when I rang him. He advised me he would be in contact....when I asked is that within a week or a month, he said it would be well inside a couple of weeks. Move forward almost 2 months and I have heard nothing. He has kept the deposit we paid, offered no alternative which I find appalling customer service to the point that when the limitations are lifted I certainly wouldn’t bother re-booking. During these uncertain times we are supposed to work together and here I am having to complain. I wish him all the best and hope my $250 went to a good cause....food on his table

Response from , Owner at Acacia Chalets Margaret River
Responded 15 Feb 2023
The first night payment we take at time of booking is a non-refundable deposit as per terms and conditions. During Covid 19 when some restrictions were imposed on travel we generally offered guests that had to cancel, a credit against a future booking so you didnt lose your non-returnable deposit. sorry if this offer didn't meet your requirements.

Unfortunately our issues are the hospitality; being ignored and further request for support disregard & rude attitude. On arrival the 41 degree day all the windows were left open/blinds up and the aircon barely working, we were told to use fans to cool it down. There was no attempt of support from the host. The listing states aircon but should note that it’s only in the kitchen/living and needs work. We had to drag a mattress to the living with aircon for us to sleep. Note when booking for 2 adults you don’t get the entire chalet made up. We requested a towel for our infant not realising not included unless you pay the $30 for high chair/cot fee even booking an infant. Given the amount we paid we expected more, especially customer service. Don’t expect acknowledgement or attempts of assistance as we’ve found out like other reviews.

Stange service and communication. After booking, I received messages trying to change my booking of the 'larger' chalet so they can use for other guests and get more money. I then decided it was easier to cancel so they are now demanding full cost of a room to cancel it even with three months' notice - even after advising they had another booking request for the same dates. Blaming the third party (Wotif) policy however I have confirmed the charge is not from Wotif. Beware the fine print.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed Chalet 2. We arrived to a beautiful clean chalet, which had everything that we needed including washing powder! Our backyard was a beautiful bed of flowers and our neighbours (kangaroos) popped over to say hi everyday. In close range to everything although you felt you were a million miles away from civilisation. Netflix was a great addition for my son after a day of adventures. WiFi was sketchy at the best of times but wasn’t bothered as that was the whole point of getting away for the weekend. There were electric blankets on all beds and extra throws in the cupboard. Cooking amenities were brilliant. Never used the dishwasher. Water was nice and very hot. Thank you for a pleasant stay, I will be bringing the entire family next time!

+1
I’ve stayed in Margaret River many times, this is the worst accommodation I’ve ever experienced.
Unless you are absolutely desperate and willing to pay 4 star for 2 star, I strongly recommend you keep looking.
The Acacia Chalets are in state of neglect.
Services mentioned didn’t work.
Wifi / Internet was non existent, the TV wouldn’t work at all.
Several key items were missing from the kitchen.
The place was clean and tidy on the surface, attention to detail was lacking.
Worst of all, the place was full of spiders and cobwebs in every room inside. I killed a spider running over my bed sheet, next night saw another running over the bed cover.
Bit tricky sleeping with 1 eye open.
Spider bites can make you quite ill.
We couldn’t sit outside, all furniture was covered in cobwebs too.
Spoke to the host several times about the issues, he did nothing! Gave rehearsed responses blaming anything other than himself.
We were very disappointed as it negatively impacted on our holiday.
The standard of Acacia Chalet is poor.

Although this was a nice chalet we were very disappointed in the lack of customer service we received . We contacted the host by text to say the AC was not working properly as it was absolutely freezing . The host said there were heaters in cupboards but there weren’t any . We went to Coles in Mgt River and bought 3 portable mini heaters which were great but they kept tripping the electricity . The internet wasn’t working either so we ended up just watching a DVD . After a really cold night it put a dampener on our trip so we left a day early to go home to get a proper heat ! The host didn’t make any attempt to come out and help up in the chalet - was all through text communication . DO NOT GO IN WINTER !

We stayed in chalet 1 over the Anzac Day long weekend. The other chalets were occupied but we did not hear any noise.
The owners texted me on arrival and during our stay to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The chalet was modern and super clean. Beds were comfortable (but a little high for our toddler who slept happily on a mattress on the floor). The kitchen was fully equipped and the living space was bright and open plan.
It wasn't cheap ($310 a night) but well worth it and a million miles from the usual Margaret River overpriced low quality accommodation that we've unfortunately come to expect.
We will definitely return!

Margaret River is quite a windy place anyway even in the summer. So the location of the chalet will not be hot and stuffy. I'm sure having just the aircon on in the front room will be sufficient enough!
Hi Audrey. Like the previous reviewer, there is no pool at Acacia Chalets but you are only a couple of minutes away from beautiful beaches or the community pool.
