Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really comfortable room with garden outlook in a beautiful house with most helpful and friendly hosts including the dog. The breakfasts were amazing with so much choice and it was lovely to sit in their splendid garden full of wildlife. There is so much to see in this area.

We stayed 2 nights and loved it. The room was spacious with a private courtyard and the bathroom was modern and clean. The continental breakfast had everything we could ask for, from a variety of homebaked breads to cereals, yoghurts and juices. The communal area was inviting and homely. The host Dirk was friendly and helpful. The surroundings very peaceful and relaxed. We will definitely go back again.

In late November 2023 we had a shambolic experience. After careful research, we chose and specifically booked (via dropdown menu) the B&B’s corner Wallcliffe room for 3 nights via Amex Travel. Six weeks later we arrived to be greeted by a PostIt note on the front door notifying us that our room was now Cowaramup! We confirmed that the outlook from the rooms were very different (scrub/carpark vs lawn/forest). With no-one around to take it up with we called their phone number, chose #2 for Dirk who was in Perth but proceeded to tell us, rather haughtily, that both rooms were identical. He said that they would have contacted us prior to arrival had we booked directly with them, but as we booked via Amex/Agoda they did not have our contact details, and that they need to change our room to secure a more recent booking for 5 nights. Finally when the onsite manageress arrived she said they are a “small operator on low margins” and that they need to “manipulate” rooms in order to maximise income. She also said all their rooms were “identical” - I found this position laughable given we got to select an individual room, and which were presented separately on their website. Being “identical” might be true for a quantity surveyor or a defence lawyer but is not defensible for a discerning tourist. This was an ‘amateur hour’ process for us but obviously has worked out well for the owners given get ing a refund was always going to be horrendous and (even though offered by Dirk) possibly disputed by the owners once we were back home in NSW. Once we surrendered to being ’locked in’ for 3 days, we made the best of it, but it led to a rather sour feeling of our visit to the region. CAVEAT EMPTOR - these owners may not think much of your choice once your booking has been secured, especially if it gets in the way of them maximising their income. At this date there is no warning that your room choice (which they still enable you to select online) may be countermanded with or without notice. And if you book via an agent there may be warning of a room change in advance of your arrival. By the way, our towel heater was broken, quite a few spa tiles were cracked and there seems to be minimal gardening maintenance work done (so obvious looking out of our glass door to the car park!). And when trying to work out our options we found that their prescriptive T&Cs were in a document almost as long as the Australian tax legislation. At least one of their dogs was very friendly throughout our stay.

Stayed in Margaret River B&B for a night. Host Dirk and Pam are so nice and friendly, travel advice, restaurants recommendations and some suggestions for the trip next day! Room is clean and comfortable with a huge spa, garden is beautiful and dog Brownie is adorable too. Start with a welcome snack and a drink, end with a fabulous breakfast. It’s a highlight for our trip. Will definitely come back next time travelling to Margaret River.

What an amazing experience, Pamela and Dirk were so friendly and helpful, giving great tips on the best places to go locally. Accomodation was very clean and super comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing. The gardens were tranquil with beautiful birds to see and listen to. Oh...and the breakfast provided was superb! A huge selection of wonderful food including local jams, and homemade breads and stewed fruits....and that was a fraction of what was on offer. Would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful B & B. And will definitely be going back! Thank you! Patricia and Shereena x

Wonderful place to stay, great hosts -Dirk is so helpful and knowledgeable about the area.Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and beautiful and you even have a spa bath. The breakfasts are lovely with beautiful fresh fruit and containers of cooked fruit and the bread! Pam makes about 9 different breads which are all yummy- they even have their own honey as well. Lovely gardens even an electric car charging station For me the only thing I would change are the pillows which I find too hard. This was our second time there and I'm sure we'll be back!
