We are a family of four and stayed in a two bedroom cottage with one bathroom. Kitchenette was well equipped and there was an outdoor BBQ which we loved. Self serve washing machines (bring coins) are near the reception. Didn’t use the dryer as there is a drying area and rack in the cottage. Very near the Margaret River town but you do need a car. Alpacas, peacocks, geese roam around which makes this fun for the kids. Would be happy to return anytime for a nice break. WiFi was decent although we we warned it could be spotty but we found it pretty decent.

Superbly located and very well maintained, the farm offers great accommodation in self-contained cottages. We had a 3 bedroom which was very spacious and comfortable for our group of 3 adults and 3 kids.
There's firewood and starters provided for booth indoor and outdoor fires, which were much enjoyed by everyone.
Kitchen was reasonably well stocked with utensils - we'd have loved a dish washer given our larger group size and the fact that we enjoy doing our own proper cooking.
Kids spent a lot of good time on the large trampoline - this was a really great addition!
Our only disappointment was in terms of the animal variety and interaction. Keeping the kids occupied on the farm was a main reason we chose this stay. In comparison to other farm stays we've experienced, this was a little on the slim side. Animal feedings are only once every other day (unlike other farms where kids can feed at leisure), there were no baby animals for closer interaction for smaller kids, and we would have loved to get the kids to collect eggs everyday from the chickens.

We do our best to share things around and the managers are fully occupied as it is. Ours is not a working farm however visiting children seem to get a great deal of enjoyment from what is on offer.

It was an wonderful experience for family with kids, we stayed at the 3 bedrooms cottage for 3 nights, the cottage was clean and very functional with all the necessities for cooking.
The animal feeding was fun, and my kids enjoyed the experience so much.
A few suggestions
1. Book early as it is highly popular for family
2. Try not to drive at night as it is pitch dark
3. Do pay attention to the farm stay entrance from the main road as the GPS and the road sign can be easily missed
4. I do feel if the farm stay can provide better laundry facilities in the cottage itself will be very helpful rather than a central laundry room

Water is a critical issue for us and we have had to truck supplies in since last December. Nevertheless, we are looking ways of generating supplies other than rainwater. If we can achieve this, then we will consider the matter from a different viewpoint. Thank you for taking the time to review us.

would thoroughly recommend. Self contained units ensuring privacy amidst a beautiful setting. Upon arrival there was fresh milk, bread and a few other items in the fridge. Accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with attention to detail for items like throw rugs on the sofa.

This was the third time we've stayed at Margaret River Hideaway and it was as great as always. Under the superb management of Kim and Tony, it provides pretty much everything you want from a stay in a West Australian country environment. Both cottages and studios are spacious, well-equipped and impeccably clean with their own fenced area which is helpful if you have a pet. Alpacas and chickens stroll around the property and come to the front fence to gaze and graze. And this time of year the sheep in the surrounding paddocks have their lambs, the emus their little striped chicks. It's a great place for kids, but equally great if you just want to de-stress and unwind! We'll definitely be back.

I seldom bring myself to write a review, but the experience at Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay is still lingering in my mind even after i have left the farmstay for a few weeks now. The cottage is clean and cozy and well space out to allow privacy and space. My friends and i got the cottage in front of the emu enclosure and the view is so incredible for city dwellers like us. Morning animal feeding was such an experience, all animals in the farm are so gentle. Host of the farm, Kim is a real gem she is like the soul of the farmstay. From the moment when we checked-in with Kim till we checked-out, there was never a dwell moment her enthusiasm and hospitality make us feel so at ease during our stay. The location of the farm is really good, away from the crowds but at the same its just a 10mins drive away from Margaret River town. I highly recommend anyone looking for a farmstay to book right away. I myself cannot wait to return for another awesome experience!

We stayed at the superior 3 bedrooms chalet this time round for 3 nights. Previously we booked the superior rooms and I highly recommend you to book the superior ones. There’s 2 toilets and the pots and pans are of better quality and also I don’t remember having a reverse air conditioner and heated blankets in the standard chalet which is so important during winter. Beds and pillows were also very comfortable I got to sleep through the nights.
Kim is extremely helpful from check in to checkout. She even helped us warmed up the rooms before our check in, how nice can that be? We managed to join the animal feedings twice during our stay. On one of the day when there’s no feeding, I requested for a bucket of Emu’s food so that we can do our own feeding and she agreed and even brought them to our chalet early in the morning as promised. My kids cherished the food as they can feed the animals the whole day.. kids never get sick of feeding animals and that’s the reason why we went to stay at the farm.
Just a pity there’s no dish washer, washing machine and dryer in the chalets as I guess they have limited water but then again this is a farm not a hotel so this is perfectly fine for us.
I will definitely recommend this place to my friends!

Many thanks for your kind comments. You are correct in respect of our water supplies as we have to rely, entirely, on rain water. Our tank storage is close to 900,000 litres, however even that's not enough and we (sometimes) need to have water trucked in, particularly over summer.

My family stayed here for 5 nights recently, we absolutely loved it. The cottage was clean and comfortable and the property itself is beautiful with the serenity of the trees all around and the animals have free range of the place. The kids loved the animal feeding sessions and playing on the plentiful play equipment provided. The staff were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our holiday, for example, one night the power went out (due to a western power fault) and the manager called us (as we were out for dinner) to advise about the blackout and how to access the property through the electric gate etc., later that night they came around the cottages and provided torches and lanterns to everybody. Also, they managed to organise a generator to be delivered by 5am the next morning so power could be restored asap whilst western power fixed the fault. It was very much appreciated by all of the guests as the fault took 2 days to be fixed in the end. We will definitely be back!

Cosy farmhouse unit with heating facilities to keep us warm in cold nights. Well equipped kitchen with microwave oven , stove and oven. No washing machine within the unit but common washing machine is available. We enjoyed the animal feeding in the farm but note that it is only available on certified days of the week. Friendly hosts and each unit is a comfortable distance from the other giving privacy. Eggs, bread and milk provided for the first morning breakfast of the stay. We enjoyed the 2-night stay.

If you're looking for a calm and peaceful setting; spacious, clean, tidy and modern accommodation for you and your family or friends, in a beautiful location surrounded by nature; with nearby restaurants and activities; you will find that here at Margaret River Hideaway and Farmstay.
Being a busy mum, even finding the time to make a phone call can be a challenge, and I was able to book our stay by communicating on Facebook messenger! After a confirmation email and processing payment, I made the booking just a few days before we were due to stay (not peak season).
At reception, we got our keys and were directed down to our cottage, with an enclosed outdoor area which is great for children, and can also accommodate for a dog. It was a pleasure to see the animals wandering round and loving life throughout our stay and our little girl had a fab time when we participated in animal feeding in the morning.
We were able to go out and visit local attractions and have dinner within a 20 minute radius of the farm. Then maximise our time in front of the fire and enjoy each other's company. Would absolutely stay here again.
