River Trails Retreat is a great little property tucked between Margaret River and Prevelley and a great base to explore the Margaret River Wine region. Hosts Lisa and John are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Me and my 8 month old stayed in their grass tree "unit". Cosy little room with an en suite, microwave, bar fridge and, for... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this serene and beautiful location. Friendly, helpful and respectful owners with a great knowledge of the Margaret River "must do's". Accomodation is very clean with a lovely country appeal, super comfy bed and all the modern ammenities required for an enjoyable stay. Balcony view is to die for especially if in need of some time... Thanks for your review Ella. Since taking over we have made some changes, however the location and peaceful bush surround have always been the standout features of Grass Tree. We look forward to hosting you again. Regards Lisa and John More

The River Trails Retreat isn't that bad. It would actually be fine if you were paying $120 a night (which is all it's worth). But when a place is charging upwards of $200 a night, they need to be offering accommodation of commensurate quality; and that's where the River Trails falls down spectacularly. We love retro stuff, but when we... More

Althought the setting was great, nice bush setting, not really suited to a group of friends. Only the 2 bedrooms, no indoor sitting area, just an outside kitchen, with very basic facilities. No hot water when we arrived, and not repaired until midday the next day. Would be so much better just with a basic gazebo, for some weather protection,... More

We stayed in the grass tree studio. It's a cute little place. We only stayed for the long weekend. We had a big ant problem and had trouble getting in contact with the owners but once we did they sorted it out which we were happy about. Very close to town. Very nice and quiet place to chill out and... More

Excellent spot to stay as a couple or the family, just a short drive to everything you need to see. Perfect place to spend some of our 2nd wedding anniversary, beach was with walking distance, plenty of wine to go around.
