This is quite a magnificent old hotel with its sweeping staircase and old furniture and well decorated period restaurant. Externally it was interesting like so many hotels in Kalgoorlie but the entrancer area and stairs was what caught ones attention. The food in the restaurant was what you might expect for a pub.

The Palace in Kalgoorlie is a beautiful historic pub- a former US president lived here. I stayed in a room with a balcony, which gave a great place to stay over looking the main street of the town. The location is great for exploring the town, and the place certainly has charm. However, there are more than a few downsides...... More

The foyer of this hotel is very grand with a sweeping staircase and a couple of massive pieces of wooden furniture, but it is more than a little jaded. We booked a renovated double room and were surprised at the unimaginative make over the boxy little room had had. There was no art on the walls and the colour scheme... More

Hotel has a good location on the main street of the city and close to bars and restaurants. Hotel room was clean and tidy and a great size, bed was large and comfy. WiFi was not the best in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I just overnighted, with friends, at the historic Palace Hotel in Kalgoorlie. Very comfortable rooms opening on the balcony overlooking Kalgoorlie's splendid Main Street and grand buildings dating from the tough but wealthy gold rushes. A large mirror donated by President Hoover dominates the entry area. The rooms have good beds and well renovated bathrooms. I asked for a stool... More

Kalgoorlie is a great place to have a vacation, it is the gold mining town of Western Australia, plenty of places to see, the SUPER PIT for example, you can book for the super pit tours, you can also take a tour of Kalgoorlie and Boulder, on the tram, called the loop.

This place does have a lot of character and oozes history. Pub & meals great, rooms do need a bit of work done. Do NOT get a room on a day where the disco is open until 4am! Not so much the music but all the heroes in their cars and bikes using the nearby streets for some low level... More

We chose to dinner out in the palace hotel bar and balcony on the first night of our stay. We enjoyed our steak dinner tremendously as it was so tender, sauce was excellent (not the run if the mill kind) the fine dining quality beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal in the Balcony restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive too. There is an impressive staircase entrance to this Olde Worlde pub. An unexpected gem
