Lunchtime in the early part of the week, The place wasn't busy at all but getting some lunch and sitting outside was no where nearly as nice as it could have been, The service standards are poor. The bar staff just were not friendly. I ordered my food and waited and waited. When it came it came with no cutlery. I was dining alone and didn't want to leave my food to the mercy of the flies and carry my belongings back in side. I caught a servers eye as they were serving the next table and asked if I could get some cutlery. She told me they were inside at the bar??? Go figure - what sort of response is that. I eventually got some cutlery brought to me. The burger and fries I had were very ordinary. The fries tasted like packet fries cooked in overused oil and the burger was nothing to write home about. The Geraldton main street is pretty souless and heading for extinxsion as it is with lots of closed shops. If my expereince at the Freemasons for lunch was anything to go by and I see from the other reviews that I am not the only one who's expereince was ordinary, the Freemasons may also have trouble keeping a lunch service going. I wouldn't go again

Even though this review is for the accomodation, Im only reviewing it for its restaurant service.

This is a great Geraldton pub. It always provides reliable service and decent food and beverage.

The pub is clean tidy and spacious. The food is good sized in its servings and very tasty. They also provide some special priced beers but generally they are normal prices. I had a perfect steak and enjoyed my meal.
Always a great spot for dinner and a few drinks.

We walked here as it was close to the Hotel we stayed at. It was a good start. Friendly staff and the menu is very good with good choices. Hubby ordered the lamb shanks as it's his favourite and he always has this when it's on the menu. I ordered the beef and guinness pie with salad. Half way through the shanks hubby couldn't eat any more so I suggested he take it back. He was sure it was not freshly cooked, possibly frozen and reheated. The veggies were half cooked. He took it back and to their credit he got a refund. My pie was delicious but the salad was just a lot of leaves with a one eighth chunk of tomato and 3 slivers of cucumber. I commented to the waitperson that this does not constitute a salad. I didn't ask for a refund, just giving some feedback, and he said he will pass the comments to the kitchen.

The customer service was very poor, staff were not welcoming for friendly and quite unprofessional. It was poorly lit, making very dark. Our table we first sat at was awfully wobbly, so we had to move to another. The dining room had carpet and created an unpleasant smell due to spills and mess ect. It was a 2 minute stay, we left almost as soon as we sat down. It was overall and unappealing experience in every aspect. Very tacky and outdated and disappointing to revisit after a few years. I do not recommend to anyone considering dining in.

My husband and I each ordered a pizza last Tuesday night, 5 July 2022 at the Freemasons Hotel in Geraldton. As I have Coeliac Disease I had called in earlier to ask the staff about the gluten free menu. We returned to the hotel at 6 pm and placed an order for pizzas. As we were in Geraldton we each chose an Abrohlos pizza - mine with a gluten free base. When the pizzas were served mine was inedible. It was barely cooked with a stodgy mush for a base. Needless to say I could not eat it and I scraped off the cheese and the minute amount of fish on the top and managed to eat that instead. I did not send my pizza back as after we ordered the queue started to snake out the door!! My gluten free pizza was $30 and my husband's was $26. Added to that was 2 glasses of house white wine - all up $72.

The venue was extremely sad. There were people there, but it was super quiet. The venue is drab and in need of some freshening up. It is certainly a sad, sticky old pub. The food, well there is every culture represented on the large menu, was tastier than expected, so that was the only plus. Given there wasn't anything else really open we headed here, but I don't think we would be going back anytime soon.

Fish n chips. Fish was dry and overcooked, leathery and no flavour. Sent it back and the next lot was barely any better. No lemon, no dressing on the salad. Wasnt game to send the second lot back. Would not recommend at all.

We enjoyed a nice bit of pub grub in the Freemasons in the centre of Gerldton one evening.
It's a pub right, so the food is simple but we enjoyed it. I had a good hearty burger. Great selection of beer on tap.
It's an old, historic building with loads of character. A bit grubby but we didn't care.
A good evening was had.

Visited this hotel for lunch with my husband and grandson. Our meals were very nice although my Thai calamari salad was drowning in soy sauce. My grandson chose cheesy chicken pasta which was really nice, however when he was two thirds through it he found 2 pieces of hard plastic which we first thought was glass. On finding it he immediately stopped eating. I showed the staff and because he had eaten most of it apparently that was bad luck! I asked for a refund but was refused because they said he had nearly finished! We won’t be back
