Detailed Reviews
When we arrived we were greeted by Tash on the reception. She was a very professional lady who went one step beyond to be of assistance even in matters that were not hotel related. The room we were allocated was on the 4th floor with a small balcony which was ideal as we could sit and look out across the ocean, the room was very nice, spotlessly clean with everything necessary. even including iron and ironing board which I consider to be a bonus. Choice of breakfast was available and was of good quality and not over expensive. The location of the hotel was directly across from the beach, but in walking distance of all shops and places of interest. We had a very enjoyable stay and will not hesitate to book again next time in Geraldton. Thank you Tash for all your help.

This hotel is located across the road from the ocean and in the middle of the main street of town.
Close to cafes, bars and boutique shops, the venue has a small bar that looks out to the ocean suitable for sunset drinks.
Hotel rooms have clean white bathrooms, sheets and towels along with air conditioning, a ceiling fan and private parking for guests.
A paid mini bar is available in the room for guests.

To take advantage of phase 4 of eased restrictions I took the 1 hour flight to Geraldton where I stayed at this very central hotel on the foreshore.
Secure parking is free and accessed from the street at the back of the hotel. It was a bit of a squeeze for the Toyota Landcruiser I hired. Reception access is up 2 flights of stairs from the parking. Check-in was quick and easy and I was in my room within 5 minutes.
The room was on the same floor as reception, was spacious and well equipped. The day before I was invited to bid to upgrade to an ocean view room and was successful. The furnished balcony allowed good views. The king sized bed was very comfortable and I slept well even on the first night. The room was well insulated from outside noise but could hear other guests and housekeeping down the corridor.
Dining is different from other hotels. There is a restaurant and bar but only breakfast is served. There are restaurants nearby where your meal can be charged to your room. The other option from Tuesday to Saturday is to order from menus of external caterers. The food is delivered to the hotel where staff bring it to your table with plates and cutlery. The restaurant has a great view as you see from the photo.
Checkout was a simple process and the email containing my invoice arrived in my inbox as I was boarding my flight. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Having just stayed at this hotel I'm struggling to understand how they feel this is a 4 star hotel. In my opinion it's an overpriced 3 Star at best. The overall hotel is nice and in a good location, but that's where it stops. There is no restaurant, no room service, gym, swimming pool or concierge with limited off-street parking. They encourage guest to eat out at local restaurants, which are not that good or have these establishments deliver to your room or eat the food in the hotel bar.
I pre-booked an ocean view room which I saw on the website, when I arrived the room was on the side of the building overlooking chemist warehouse and other shops. Had to pay an extra $10.00 for a room at the front, total cost $230.00 which is very overpriced for what you get as it overlooks the street parking area and kids water park with a few undesirable figures hanging about. All in al,l a very disappointing experience as the pictures on the website suggest that it's right on the beach.
Following day, we drove to Perth and stayed in a TRUE 4 start hotel, the Pan Pacific which was half the price and had everything you could wish for, sports bar, two restaurants, gym, swimming pool and concierge.

Good Evening, I’m unsure how you missed our restaurant on level 2 but I’m sure if you had seen it you would have really enjoyed the food, service and views overlooking the Foreshore. Room service is provided by the Provincial and gym access is complimentary for our guests via snap fitness, which is within walking distance from our hotel. As we are located directly across the road from the beach it is a wonderful spot to enjoy a swim and to take in the fresh air, there is no better place to relax and enjoy Geraldton. We are within walking distance to many fantastic local restaurants that spoil us for choice. have rooms for every budget and our friendly staff are always happy to assist you. Thank you for staying with us. We do hope that you had a safe trip home.

We sucessfully bidded to upgrade to the top room. A large top floor room, nice balcony, bath and shower with a stupidly small wardrobe given the room size, but for two nights it didn't matter too much. Everything you need is in walking distance, which is nice as wherever you have come from you have driven a good few hours to get here!
The room is not as quiet as you would expect internally then as the glazing is not so good the mechanical road sweeper gets you at 06:30 then the traffic starts - not the hotels fault of course but on the refit improve the sound insulation. As nice as the view is you pay at night as the head of the lampost outside is perfectly at the correct height to illuminate the room as the shading just doesn't fit the windows as good as they could, such an easy fix....
Why no safe in the room? again an easy fix.
A nice complementry drink voucher and easy free parking. We probably wouldn't go back to Geraldton but if so would stay here again but choose a different room.

Had the chance to stay on the top floor of this hotel a couple of weeks ago, and can recommend it to travelers looking for a central location with awesome ocean views.
Had originally booked a studio room, which on arrival I'm very glad we upgraded from as they have zero view and are in fact located a step or two below the level of the sidewalk and carpark outside so effectively anyone walking past can see straight down into your room.
From a security perspective not the best room choice either for the same reason.
Rest of the hotel is fine, friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks at the sunset bar.
Avoid the rather noisy elevator if you can, after only one trip up we elected to use the stairs for remainder of the visit.

The ladies in reception were very friendly and quick with check in. Limited parking in the hotel's secure parking. Plenty of street parking, opposite the hotel and the area seemed quiet and trouble free so parking outside would have been pretty secure.
The room was spacious with a big comfortable bed. Sheets were clean and the pillows comfortable. The mini bar had good priced drinks. There was a Nespresso machine, with pods, which you could ask for more. There was also a kettle and tea bags, etc. In the fridge was a small longlife milk but you could get fresh milk from the restaurant. In the room was a small walk in robe for your bags, lots of power points and plenty of lighting.
The shower had constant hot water that didn't fluctuate and had a nice big rainwater shower head. The towels were clean and toiletries were supplied.
We had an ocean view room, with a reasonable sized balcony that had a small round table and two chairs. Across the road is a beautiful park with play equipment and a water playground. Great for kids. Also plenty of places to eat in the area.
The hotel serves breakfast, which was delicious and well priced but they don't do other meals. You can order from The Provincial, through the hotel, and they deliver in take out boxes but the hotel will supply a plate and cutlery if you want to eat in the restaurant area, which has lovely views of the ocean. We were given a complimentary drink voucher each when we arrived, for a draught beer or glass of house wine.

After driving for 8 hours we were looking forward to checking in and the Ocean Centre Hotel had previously sent a text message with the code to enter the car park which gave us confidence that our car would be safe. We are very lucky to have an expensive car that we really look after. The car park once entered was so tiny and cramped with no bays vacant. Other cars were also stuck trying to get out due to no bays left. This was around 3pm, we then parked in the street and went to reception only to be told there was nothing they could do about it and we needed to park in the street for the night. That’s it! No alternative safe parking anywhere. We then had to forfeit our room and money paid as we weren’t going to risk leaving a valuable car in the Street.
We ended up at a lovely Best Western Motel that offered us a 2 bedroom apartment and parking right at our door on the premises for less than Ocean Centres Studio room.
I’m sure the rooms are lovely at the Ocean Centre but if you value your car be prepared to park it in the street!!

Good Evening, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As stated in your reservation confirmation, we do offer gated parking on a first in, first served basis. Once our car park is full guests can park on the street around our building which is very safe. In my 6 years at the Ocean Centre Hotel I have never known a car to be damaged. We are fully aware that a persons car is their pride and joy no matter how expensive the car and would not advise guests to park on the street if we did not feel it was safe to do so. We are glad that you managed to find what you were looking for at another local establishment as Geraldton is a wonderful place to stay.

Pros and cons. I'll start with the PROS: Great location within walking distance of everything, shops, restaurants, pubs and the beach. On site secure parking. Very comfortable mattress and 4 pillows. Good block out curtains. Clean with a lovely, modern bathroom with lots of shelf space for toiletries.
CONS: It has a rain shower head. I know these are fashionable but it is almost impossible to shower without getting your hear wet unless you have a shower cap. At least they provide one. I have stayed in Hotels before with such a shower head so I go prepared in case.
There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, or toilet brush or can of air freshener. Hubby had a shower with the door closed and by the time he was finished the condensation was running down the walls and mirror. So I had to shower with the door open. I asked about this at reception and was told they have a whole of Hotel exhaust system that is turned on in the morning and off later in the day. Strange!
There are 2 cups, 2 knives and forks, 2 wine glasses, tea spoons and one tumbler glass. No saucers, plates or bowls and no tea towel to wash and dry a cup etc.. We normally stay at Best Western when we are in Geraldton, and thought to stay here for a change, although it is more expensive, but we will go back to Best Western next time.

Hi Lyn. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We greatly appreciate all feedback. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay as per your 'pros' list. Thank you for your feedback regarding the bathroom facilities. We do not put toilet brushes in our rooms, as guests are not expected to clean their rooms themselves, as well as presenting potential health and safety concerns. As discussed with our team member, the exhaust system is a commercial hotel-wide system, but we are investigating to ensure this is working correctly in your room since you mentioned this issue. Some room types are not designed to be self-contained and this is why there is not dishes or dishwashing facilities available in most rooms. These features are detailed on our listings, our 'Studio' room type does offer a small kitchenette for travellers who require this. We are glad you chose to stay at the Ocean Centre and hope you'll consider us on a future stay so we may have another opportunity to impress. Thank you!

He had a tremendous stay at the Ocean Centre Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the location of the hotel in the centre of the city's ocean front was ideal; the rooms were well appointed with very comfortable beds. And lastly the secured parkiong under the hotel made access very easy.

Yes 4x4 is fine. Part of the carpark is exposed and open while a small section roofed. Guest car park is secured and locked with key card entry. So is good.
Breakfast is served in our restaurant called Sirocci Bar. For evening meals we have woodfired pizza available in Sirocco Bar from 5om and room service is available. Chargeback facilities to recommended local restaurants.
