Expected more from a mercure. The rooms are dated and smelly. The bed was hard and the linen smelt of stale cigarette smoke. The restaurant was fantastic. The did was delicious and the service was outstanding
As an Accorplus member my membership was quite useless in this hotel. Little benefit for breakfast and Dinner. Used once at breakfast with 15% off. The room was dated and it had a shower in the bath which could be a danger for older people. Bed was very uncomfortable and pillows should be thrown away.
We had a very quick stopover at the Mercure Bunbury and found it comfortable. Arrived late and left early. Was very impressed with the restaurant meals on offer and the service. I think one would enjoy the surroundings more in summer as there would be more to enjoy. Would only stay for an overnight.
Treated adult Son, Wife to a weekend of golf, food and fun, while taking care of their two children. A 2 bedroom apartment was ample for them and we had a studio apartment, big enough for two. We were not disappointed by the Restaurant, still good food despite the ongoing Covid staffing problems. Big shout out to Phil and Raine, who jumped over tables to make everything run smoothly on a very busy weekend. Loved the Lamb Chops, had twice, and the kids enjoyed their meals, no complaints from them, Good selection of local wines at excellent prices. Golf was a success, as was the spar to relax, live music in then afternoon to accompany a cool drink. Very central to attractions, Bunbury Dolphin Center great for children and us Adults. Will return soon, good work all staff.
Very pleased to have my Accor Status recognised and well welcomed. Very good service from all the staff. While the resort is dated in parts, is mostly well kept. Really not sure what the owners are going to make of the place long term. The focus seems to be on the quality of the golf facilities. The gardens etc are immaculately kept. Our room was quiet, comfy and clean. I had a light lunch of a toasted sour dough brie and parma ham which was excellent. Oddly though any view has been built out so not much to look at when dining.
Our second time stay at Bunbury Resort. This time, we are very disappointed with the accomodation. The place is not clean, lots of insect in the room and found cockroaches in the drawers and where they kept their cutleries. The place is quite old / out-dated to be called a resort and quite run down for the price we paid per night. Also, movies channels advertised does not work. Some positive is the friendly staffs and we had a good family time in the swimming pool. They should do a major renovation.
Stayed ovenight on the way down south. We had a one bedroom apartment, with a garden view. The apartment was comfortable, clean and had the amenities we wanted. We ate in the restaurant, and could not fault the service or the food. The service was great, especially when they were under pressure (looking to hire staff), as was the food, not 'fine dining' but good healthy food. We could not eat all of it (do the servings get bigger the further south from Perth?) but they were happy to let us take it with us. Well done you guys in the Restaurant :-)
Stayed at the Mercure Bunbury Sanctuary Golf Resort for an extended weekend. The property grounds are huge and beautifully maintained, nice play equipment for the children and loads of space for them to run around. Beautiful big pool and hot tub jacuzzi, tennis court and the biggest draw card for golfers is the golf course. The staff are very warm and welcoming and check in was very quick and efficient. The cleaning staff did an amazing job with cleaning the rooms. Our room was very clean and the bathroom, even though dated, was very clean., However some basic maintenance would really go a long way, for example the light in the living area did not work? The remote to the air conditioner in the bedroom was broken and you had to get the remote from the other room to get the unit to work? The tap in the hand basin was continually dripping. But the room was well equipped and spacious with loads of storage space, plenty of room to move. The bathroom was very clean and functional, very hot water and good water pressure with lovely toiletries provided, but the bathrooms are very dated and dreary. The lighting wasn’t the best to apply makeup – but did the job (just). Loads of parking, convenient guest laundry, on site bar and restaurant. I would have preferred a more central location as I like to be able to walk to places nearby, however if you are a golf enthusiast or don’t mind not being centrally located the resort would be perfect for you.…
On arrival the staff where great very welcoming and helpful. I arrived quite late in the afternoon so went to dinner all most immediately after arriving. again the staff where really nice and helpful. unfortunately the food wasn't to the same standard as the staff. I had a steak and it was served as requested rear but it was very hard to eat quit chewy. The chips that came with it were not good all I could taste was oil or fat what ever it was they where cooked in I had 2 or 3 chips and that was all I could handle. after that I wasn't prepared to take on desert sadly.
My wife and I finally escaped down south and had a 4 day break after other travel in the region. Arrived and as we had booked an extra night to extend our break we were upgraded! Very surprised :-) The staff were very friendly and never had an issue in the 4 nights we were there. The restaurant and bar staff were keen to offer suggestions and the meals were very well presented. A great range of choices and between us we pretty much tried everything. The choice was the lamb cutlets - yummo! The golf staff and ground staff were friendly and informative regarding the challenging course. Proshop staff were very helpful and also quick to return my wallet when I left it in the buggy after a round! All in all - definitely on our return list next time we are in the Bunbury region.
