Detailed Reviews
I have stayed at this hotel many times while it was the Mantra who I always had a pleasant stay with and decided to book here again even though it was under new management because it is very central and has great facilities.
I made my reservation over the phone which was EXTREMELY complicated. The young lady on the other end did not speak English very well and it took a lot longer than it should have to book a room. I understand it wasn’t her first language but perhaps getting another person to help or not put her on reservations would have been better as I was on the phone for at least 30-40minutes trying to book a 3 night stay for 2 people.
When my mum called to surprise us and pay for our first night, her payment was almost put through to the completely wrong booking...the name of the person was a male and his name sounded nothing like mine.
We booked a superior room which is the intermediate price between the 3 options available. The room size was fine however our “view” was of a freight container sitting on a truck bed right outside our window. Not sure why I’m paying for “city views” when I’m on the ground floor staring at a truck.
The “comfortable king bed” was actually 2 king singles pushed together, which I understand many hotels do, however, you could feel the gap between them, the mattress was hard and uncomfortable, same as the pillows and I did not sleep well any of the 3 nights we were here. My partner has a bad back from an old spinal injury and he was uncomfortable and had back pain for most of our stay.
Free wifi was not included which wasn’t too bad as we have mobile data however for the amount of money we were paying it was disappointing.
The bathroom seemed clean until I opened the cupboard under the sink and found dirt or makeup or something of that sort.
I asked one of the cleaners for a bath mat as when our towels were changed we weren’t given one or a hand towel/face towel, and she didn’t understand what I was saying and had to go and get another lady to try and help me. Our bed also wasn’t made which is what a usual “clean of the room” entails, however, not a huge issue
Location is perfect, the pool and spa are great and the hotel looks nice and clean.
Bit disappointed with our stay as I had high hopes it would still be of similar standard to when it was the Mantra.
Don’t think I will be returning as it was overpriced for the lack of sleep and comfort we received.

This hotel by far exceeded our expectations in all areas. When we arrived we were told our room was not ready due to late check out of the previous guest. However, the young lady at the reception gave us complimentary breakfast to compensate for the late check in. Soon afterwards, the elderly lady from the front desk took us to our room and made sure everything was well prepared. She even carried all our bags with the help of another gentleman! To be honest, we did not expect this level of hospitality anywhere in Australia! The Deluxe room was very clean, spacious and had a beautiful view of the bay. The jacuzzi in the bathroom was super exciting! Free tea, coffee, cookies, bottled water and even a small pack of milk is provided every day in the fridge. The only shortcoming probably is that housekeeping will sometimes "forget" to refill these supplies. Buffet breakfast did not have a very wide range of selections but the food was freshly prepared and tasty. The chef personally came out and asked us if we would like her to make some extra hash browns! The building is mainly a residential apartment complex with only a part of it being used as hotel. So very few underground parking bays are allocated for hotel guests and these fill up very quickly in the peak season, especially weekends. Overall, the little gestures and kindness from the staff made our stay in Bunbury a very pleasant one!

We have stayed here when it was Mantra and expected the same standard. We felt rather let down. On the positive side, the staff at reception were welcoming. The room was spacious with king bed, couch, desk etc. There was a kitchenette with a microwave. The bathroom had a lot of bench space, which doesn’t always happen. The bed was comfortable but this is where it becomes undone. The quilt was covered in two sheets which constantly drifted apart. The pillows were huge but only one size. You would expect a choice for people who prefer a flatter pillow. The room was mainly clean although I don’t think the toilet roll holder has ever been cleaned. The hairdryer was a cheap one that just dried hair - no styling nozzle. It would have been nice to have a mirror in the room in case the bathroom one was fogged up from showering.
We didn’t use the restaurant as the menu was limited but the pool area was great. There was a spa and a large pool, although I suspect families would want a shallower section for small children.
The biggest downfall I found was that the rooms don’t get serviced. I don’t mind making my own bed, but after three days the rubbish mounts up. I have not encountered this before even in 3 star hotels. This was adopted well before COVID 19.
The hotel is well located and within walking distance of restaurants. To sum up, it looks like a 4.5 star hotel but is probably 3 to 3.5.

After issues with the room, Staff gave a bottle of wine which was nice but should have asked guest if the guest drinks alcohol. Central location near the event we went to. Staff provided a small heater to the room as the heater was not working.
Disliked · Arrived at night at the hotel, given a room that was absolutely not cleaned, door was unlocked when we arrived, Tried ringing from the room but no answer had to go back down to reception to advise room was not cleaned. The bed was stripped, dirty cups and dishes in the sink, used towels in the bathroom, bin full. Did not offer another room unless we asked. Was advised they will clean room but too exhausted to wait so we were given another room that heater does not work. It was winter time. Got given a small portable one instead. One of the glasses had a lipstick mark which means wasn't cleaned properly. We stayed for 2 N. Had a message that rooms are not cleaned daily. This was Covid time and I thought they will be a bit more vigilant in cleanliness. In the bathroom. the lotion and shampoo bottles were also half full which means it was previously used but the cleaner did not bother replacing. We requested for an undercover carpark but were told to park on the street side (was pouring with rain) even though I could see a few cars coming in and out of the carpark.
The location is good but they need to improve their cleanliness and organisation. When we were asked to move to another room, the staff did not even provide assistance with the luggage as I was with a child and we had massive bags. We got lost in looking for the room as we were just told to go to the room number and we were left on our own.

This Hotel has very clean and spacious rooms. Modern and well appointed . Everything like new. The mini kitchen was very well equipped with dinner set, large sink for washing dishes and provided detergent sponge and tea towel. I wish more Motels would do this. We also appreciated the quality tea bags and hot chocolate sachets, as well as small biscuit packets. The bathroom was faultless and had nice little bottles of toiletries. Comfortable bed- we had a king which was 2 singles pushed together. Good size TV. Our parents room had a balcony but ours didn’t. Since it was Winter we didn’t miss it.
The Hotel is part of the converted historic Silos apartment complex. In the foyer past the reception is a very interesting historical display .
There is a restaurant and we would’ve been more inclined to use it if there were Menus displayed on the outside windows or in the foyer. Too late we found one in our room.
The swimming pool is indoors and looked accessible for older people too, however it was Winter do we didn’t use it. The Hotel is central to walk to the Entertainment Centre, Cinema and restaurants, or along Koombana Bay. We hope to return in Summer.

This is my second stay at the Bunbury Hotel and I love the spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are well equipped, loads of storage space and appointed with everything that you need for a short stay in Bunbury. The beds are large and soft with quality clean linens. The pillows are big and fluffy, block out blinds, whisper quiet air conditioners the room is designed for the perfect sleep conditions.
The kitchenette is well equipped to make simple meals or breakfast, complete with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and a proper sized sink and ample storage for your stuff.
The bathrooms are on the compact side, but our room did have a full sized spa bath, shower, toilet, large vanity with loads of storage space for your stuff. Very clean and lovely large fluffy towels and nice toiletries.
Good value hotel with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. On site parking, free WI-FI, friendly and efficient staff, heated swimming pool/jaccuzzi, day spa, good on-site restaurant serving quality meals. Walking distance to shops, bars, cafes and the foreshore.

I stayed with my 2 children for a few nights. It was winter so I didn't get to the beach but it was located close by. Hotel in a convenient location at the end of what I think is the main street.
Hotel was nice and clean and staff were friendly.
Parking is limited and you may not get a spot during peak times.
We booked for 3 people and I bought food at the lovely farmer's market for our stay.
Unfortunately, even though we booked for 3, there was only 2 of everything. It was advertised as self contained but the pot was big enough to boil 2 eggs and the fry pan was an omelette pan only. I couldn't prepare meals.
The hotel landing is open in the middle so it was absolutely freezing and the carpets were rained on. Getting back from the pool was no fun at all. In summer I imagine it's stinking hot. I was awoke in the middle of the night with the wind rushing through and shaking the door.
The kids enjoyed the pool but it was far too cold for me.

If you value your sleep, you will love the bed at the Bunbury Hotel. Large & comfortable with nice quality linens, snuggly doona and big plush pillows. Quiet room with good block out curtains, the room is designed for optimal rest.
Our room was very spacious and clean, tastefully decorated in neutral tones. Well designed with a work desk, loads of storage space, nice tv with lounge & coffee table. Complete with home comforts of a kitchenette equipped with microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle and basic but nice quality glassware & crockery.
The bathroom was a nice size and very well lit, very clean, with a large shower recess and good water pressure. Large fluffy towels and nice toiletries, loads of storage and places to hang your towels.
Perfectly located on Koombana Bay and right on the door step of the town centre – walking distance to all of Bunbury’s attractions, pubs, restaurants and shops.
Plenty of onsite parking. Tennis courts, heated indoor pool and a great restaurant. WIFI included in the price. The staff were very welcoming and efficient.
Could not fault this hotel in any way and looking forward to returning on my next stay in Bunbury.

If you look at the online pictures you will see a substantial building with many windows on many floors seeming to have water views, this is not the case! The hotel accommodation is only on the first four floors facing towards the indoor pool area, ie; no direct water views. I was mislead and booked a water view room on a high floor, expecting just that. Didn't get it, as it is just not available!! I repeat, I was mislead!
Reception was OK. Room was OK. Breakfast was acceptable. Short walk into town or to the Dolphin centre.
You get a 10% discount at their associated pub, Wellington, where the food was good and a great drink selection.
They got 3 stars but I still feel that the advertising substantially mislead and leaves a bitter taste.

We are staying at the hotel. The room is clean and big enough and staff are friendly. Shampoo, slippery, parking and tea is provided. Beautiful reception. The only thing disappointed us was breakfast which was tooooo simple. Just two tables with egg, bread, friut and small jams, not hand made. Why should i pay $25 for such a breakfast? The buffet hotel breakfast shoud be better than this or at least cheaper, something different and absorbing for guests.
When i contacted hotel to book the room, the reception offered me price bit but i told her i preferr to book through expedia with same price to get points. But i told her If you can, give us discount on breakfast or a free one. She didn't accept.
These small things in customer service could help a hotel to be different.
