I am so very glad that I found this place. I moved to Warrnambool on a whim hoping to get some work. I had looked at the Turn-in Motel and this Hostel and decided to follow my intuition so I came here. Safe to say my intuition was correct. This is the most comfortable Hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff are genuine, honest and kind. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are kept hygienic and clean. There is a very comfortable living room area with tables, chairs, couches and a very nice Large TV. There is even an Xbox and Netflix available! The Free Teas and Coffees are a bonus and there is a great selection of pots and pans in the kitchen, you’ll find what you’re looking for. But better than all of this is the all important “hostel-vibe”. It is calm, welcoming, relaxing and ultra-unpretentious. There are no obnoxious speaker-announcements in the rooms, no door-to-door knocking to shame people into going to the bar, no annoying beer-pong tournaments full of screaming millenials. This hostel is just peaceful. The Owners have good energy, therefore the hostel has good energy. This is evidenced further by the fact that two cats choose to live here and are very happy. They wouldn’t cope if this Hostel was crappy and loud like so many others are. Ruby and Ninja are adorable by the way! I have a sincere amount of gratitude to the owners of this place, thank you for the affordable weekly rate, thank you for the assistance and kindness, and thank you for providing a loving space where I have created many beautiful memories. 🙏🏻🌺…
I finished my 3 months farm work staying in this hostel and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The owners & hostel staff have been very helpful and I was lucky to find someone as honest as Geoff, especially since many other working hostels are known for quite the opposite and taking advantage of your situation. The hostel's got a really nice large common area with sofas, flat screen and a lot of space to hang out. The WiFi and showers are good, kitchen got freezer and oven and the hostel is literally just 5 to 10 min for a beautiful beach walk.
This hostel is in a decent location at the end of the Great Ocean Road, close to interesting walks, ocean views, etc. I liked that my dorm room had separate cubicles for each bunk (with curtain), meaning that when not full you could have a completely private section to yourself.
Competed my 88 days farm work at this hostel on a nearby dairy farm. Literally could not have had a better time and definitely a highlight of my year in Australia. The hostel itself to live in was easy. It was a home from home, high quality kitchen facilities, comfy dorm rooms and a nice living space. It is a good location being 2 minutes from the nearest beach and park and close to the town. The majority of the credit has to go down to the staff who always goes the extra mile to help you with anything at all (probably much to their delight I would still phone them now if I had an issue). Geoff coordinates farms and it is so reassuring if you have an issue at all to have someone outwith the farm help you deal with it. He also selects his farm carefully to ensure safety of backpackers. Majority of farms are close enough that you can live in hostel at discounted rate but if there is an opportunity for a live on farm elsewhere Geoff will rightly charge a small 'spotters' fee. I would recommend living in hostel as it gets you away from farm and we had good fun on our time off. There are also two hostel cats!! …
This is a nice backpacker hostel with friendly staff a good kitchen and common room with its own bar. It had clean comfortable rooms as expected We had a private room with an ensuite shower toilet bathroom the room was clean with free tea and coffee making facilities in the kitchen It was a 40 minute walk to town where there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets We enjoyed our stay and would stay again
