Detailed Reviews
This was a last minute booking for two nights over New Year’s Eve and we were very happy with it! The room was not luxurious but it was clean and comfortable and had everything you would need for a short stay. Especially if you plan on spending time out in town and the surrounds. The managers are a very friendly and accommodating couple - after a small issue with the toilet flushing (which was fixed immediately) they gave us a bottle of wine! Completely unnecessary but well received. They leant us a picnic blanket to go and check out the fireworks and were really lovely at check out on New Year’s Day even though we over slept our check out time. Had a great time and would recommend!

We enjoyed every part of our stay, especially as sunny weather meant we could enjoy the heated swimming pool! Mick and May are excellent hosts and provided everything, including wine glasses and a microwave. A couple minutes drive to Coles and a few more minutes to Flagstaff Hill Information Centre/Pippies and another minute to Simon's overlooking the beach. The Warrnambool Art Gallery has a variety of interesting sculptures and paintings, right near numerous cafes and restaurants. Beaches and walking tracks are easy to access.

Had to visit Warrnambool for a sporting event and spent 4 nights at this well located, convenient and exceptionally clean motel.
The welcome on arrival was extremely friendly from May and to arrive back home and receive a newspaper cutout from her regarding the event and picture of our daughter went above and beyond anything I have experienced before from a motel manager. Truly wonderful people caring about their customers. When in the area again would not stay anywhere else!

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, very friendly staff who assisted us to access the room a little bit early so I could complete some urgent work duties. Comfortable rooms and very quiet at night despite being on a busy day time road. Friendly service always makes a big difference also and we enjoyed the stay.

We stayed at this hotel for one night (last Saturday) and were very happy with it. It's in a quiet location, yet very easy to get to the town centre in your own car. The room was VERY big. You could fit three queen size beds in and still have room to move around. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The room was well equipped with everything you would find in a 4 star hotel around the world. The hosts were also very nice. Would return when next time in town.

The Hopkins House is operated by May and Mick Blake, two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They are a very lovely, friendly couple who make your stay pleasant. The rooms are beautiful, restful and clean and we were sorry that we could stay only one night. They offered suggestions about local attractions. The surrounding area is scenic. We were surprised to see citrus trees bearing fruit outside their office. Staying there contributed so much to our trip to Australia!

Stayed 3 nights, friendly & helpful staff, very clean & handy to small shopping arcade. Reasonably quiet even though on quite a busy road. Not too far into city centre where you will find many options for meals. Up there a little in price but thats to be expected at the beach during holiday periods. A local recommended Proudfoots but we were not overly impressed - lovely setting overlooking the river but menu disappointing

I have been staying at Hopkins House for over 10 years
This is a family run motel, that has great owners, They are the best motel keepers I have ever run into in my 13 years on the road, I traveled around this country and have traveled 970.000K/m's in 12 years, In all that time, I never come across motel owners like it
I cant say enough, to say how nice these people are. They made me feel like one of the family, nothing was too much trouble for them
the rooms are always very clean and modern, the owners are happy to do what they can to make your stay enjoyable
I would not have stayed for nearly 10 years if it was no good
Highly recommended, PLEASE Don't miss out on this motel, make your trip that much better

We came from England to stay here for a family birthday party.
The staff in reception were warm and friendly and very informative about the area, especially about Logan's Beach where we went to watch the whales playing.
Our room was a very good size, lovely and clean with a good shower and crisp clean sheets.
Brekky was good, arriving on time, hot and freshly cooked.
Our only disappointment which stopped this review being excellent was the wifi. We were given a card for two hours free on the first night. It was really tricky to login and when we finally managed we couldn't get online at all. We tried again the next morning while having breakfast and although the login was quicker sitting near the door, we were still unable to use the Internet.

"The location at first seem out of the way, being out of the middle of town. This means a quiet place and better sleep! It's only two minutes on the Mortlake Road into the middle of town anyway."Read full review
