Good sized room with comfortable bed and a view of the ocean. Multi storey parking available at a low price. Housekeeping was well managed with rooms cleaned and fresh large towels replaced daily. A good spot in Warrnambool close to the beach and in easy reach of the town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely stay over Christmas.

Our room was extremely quiet from traffic noise, very spacious, clean and with a well equipped kitchen with microwave and toaster to cook our own meals. Front end staff were helpful and friendly. Car parking was undercover and easy access to room.

We booked in here after coming out of a "glamping" tent experience in the outback, and this was exactly the touch of luxury we needed to replenish. Gorgeous, comfortable, well-appointed, and clean rooms—and everything just smells amazing at this place! Very short walk to the beach. Ocean views depending on room. The grounds are a bit crowded with Lady Bay right next door (we were encouraged to park on the grass since surface parking was full and covered parking is $10) but the staff were quite courteous and helpful throughout. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel - it was excellent (be aware that it closes at 7). Breakfast was quite good too.

Our only constructive criticism is that we really wished we would have been able to use the hot springs. In the end we couldn't justify the cost. I looked into buying a pass online at the time that we booked, but held off thinking that they must have some type of deal or discount for the hotel guests vs. the general public - but no. When we arrived, we were handed a price sheet and that was it. Perhaps the hotel could consider adding a shorter mini-session (with option to extend for a fee) or at least offering a percentage discount for hotel guests. It's a shame to pay for a room on property and be so close without being able to access this amenity.

Stayed for one night in January 2023 in Premium Kingsize Studio. Out of 35 nights travelling in Australia this hotel was a huge disappointment compared to all of the other places we stayed. The welcome at reception was transactional and Luke warm. I was asked for photo ID and given a form to complete and asked for a credit card so a deposit could be taken in case I caused damage to the room!!!

This was even more insulting when I saw the state of the room. First, it overlooked the roof of a building and other buildings. There was no sea view and from the orientation and location of the rooms I doubt any other rooms have a real sea view. I was told by reception that there was a sea view, but you’d have to crane your neck and look down the side to get even a glimpse of it. The hotel looks nothing like the marketing photographs.

The balcony was not the sort you would want to sit out on. It had an air con unit on it. The room was in poor condition, cracked bathroom tiles, thick black grime embedded into them. I booked a premium studio expecting some sort of food preparation and eating area. E.g. for a light breakfast, but the facilities were no different to a standard hotel room. It had kettle, mini fridge (but ours didn’t work and leaked water on the bedroom floor), 2 cups, saucers and teaspoons, 2 wine glasses, 2 champagne flutes. There was an empty cutlery draw but we did have a tea towel! There was no table to eat at. The woodwork and edgings around the door, wardrobes, etc had markings and chips from wear and tear. The bed was OK, but not the most comfortable. The bathroom extractor created a loud noise in the bedroom. The ceiling fan switch gave off a crackling noise. Facilities within the hotel were poor - a small indoor pool, no outdoor seating area and only a small restaurant where you could sit indoors. The hot springs is open to non-residents so it was mad busy, we couldn’t get tickets and I’m not sure I’d want to given the amount of people milling around that it would be a good experience. It was popular with large groups and appeared more geared up for hen-parties not a couples experience. I complained to the hotel reception on checkout about the poor quality and misrepresentation of the room and was told the manager would email me but I have not heard anything from them. For the price (I paid well over $400 AUD for one night) this was terrible.

What a waste of money.

First day we stayed we had drilling banging going on from 4pm until 7pm . Next day we are woken up with tradies banging on the Celling fixing a shower screen. Bang bang bang. So much for a lie in. Then we went down for the breakfast. Bread was stale and dry. Juice was watered down, hit water was cold. We then left for the day. We came back only to put up with drilling until 7pm and shouting. Then the morning on Saturday where we thought might take easy woken up yet again with banging and tradies. Would not recommend this place.

Very disappointed as we were celebrating our 40th
Anniversary.

The whole experience was excellent, the room and bed was comfortable and clean. Checking in was simple, parking easy and the staff from reception to maintenance were friendly and obliging and gave you the impression they actually wanted to be there. In relation to the the facilities and services it was fantastic and very relaxing. The only thing that I would keep in mind for next time is to not go on a public holiday as some areas are not open along with the prices being inflated.

The room was comfortable but that was the only good aspect of this poorly run hotel. We had booked the hot springs but a large group were waiting 30 mins before the session started and stayed in the best pools for the entire time. The supervisor should have moved these people so others could enjoy the only 2 pools with jets. Also, showering before entering the pools should be enforced. Breakfast was the worst EVER. Only packaged / plastic scrambled eggs ( you had to pay $2 for any other type!) and lukewarm water for tea/coffee. The staff didn't seem to care about anything. Didn't know how to operate the toaster! There was a gap under the room door and it was quite noisy for a while. We feel the management are only interested in getting as much money from guests as is possible! There is an attitude of " couldn't care less" about the whole hotel.. Is it on the market? Wouldn't be surprisedl Will NEVER recommend this hotel to our Melbourne friends and family. The hot springs on the Mornington Peninsula are far superior as are Hepburn hot springs.

This hotel is expensive and bills itself as luxury. But when we arrived at 8 pm, the restaurant was closed due to it being a holiday we were told. The owner of another restaurant in town said it was because they can’t find a chef. The water view “suite” is a basic room with a tiny slice of a view over other roofs. The bedding is army grade and the internet doesn’t work well.

During breakfast,I was told only the $25 Buffett was available but she relented to let me have a bowl of yogurt and coffee for $12. While eating, they clean the tables with strong smelling cleaner which is very unappetising. Coffee took 25 minutes to arrive.

The whole experience feels exploitive given the absurdly high price. I would never recommend this hotel.

We always aim to deliver a great experience, and we are sorry that on this occasion we didn’t meet your expectations. But, I believe there seems to be some confusion in regards to the Restaurant being unavailable. The statement you heard from another restaurant in town is not accurate. The Deep Blue Restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday’s, with the exception of public holidays. This information is stated on our website, across all forms of media and in the welcome pack guests receive prior to checking in. We are sorry that you feel as though this information was not communicated to you prior to your stay, we will workshop this to see if there is a better way of communicating service hours with our guests. We apologise if you feel the room you stayed in was misrepresented in some way, assuming you stayed in an Ocean View suit, as we do not have Water View Suits as per your review, we provide clear and detailed room descriptions and images alongside our room rates and do not feel that the room has been misrepresented. We are pleased to hear that staff at the restaurant, during what seemed to be a busy breakfast service, serviced your request for only yoghurt. For future reference you can help yourself to the Coffee Station if you would prefer not to have to wait for a barista made coffee. Thank you again for the review, We hope this clears a few things up and that you can give us another opportunity in the future.

We booked a romantic weekend away thinking that an ocean view room would be idyllic. Definitely not worth $400+ a night, and after one night we checked out and got a refund on the second night. Hall carpets are stained, room is average (with a very limited ocean view) and the shower grout was disgusting. Wish I had read the latest reviews (rather than just the overall historical star rating) as clearly this hotel has deteriorated in quality and amenities. Everything looks tired and a bit dated. Positive was the staff were courteous and the restaurant was closed for dinner (apparently dodged a bullet there) so the front desk provided a list of local restaurants, which is how we stumbled on The Hairy Goat Tapas & Cocktail Bar (5 stars to these guys).

We had a lovely afternoon at the hot springs so we decided to stay the night at the hotel. What a huge mistake that was!
We had an awful experience at the hotel, our room was extremely noisy, from the bar fridge grinding loudly all night, and the bathroom fan vibrating through the entire room, to make it worse we were right next to the car park door that was used as a thoroughfare the entire time. Also being on the first level the outside noise of cars doing burnouts and noisy guests arriving and leaving was hard to ignore.

The room quality was also very basic for a 5 star hotel.

Bedding was a simple sheet with a scratchy woolen blanket on top.
The pillows were flat and uncomfortable.
The TV turned its self off during a movie not once but 3 times.

Just when I thought our unenjoyable stay at the hotel couldn't get any worse we went to the buffet breakfast.

It was a continental breakfast at best. Just awful and they have the nerve to charge you EXTRA for a barista coffee as if paying $47 each for breakfast isn't overpriced
enough!

Wish I read these other reviews first before booking here - we paid $350 for this poor quality hotel.

We left our feedback at the desk and weren't even so much as offered any sort of discount or incentive to return from staff.
They don't care - these reviews really say it all.

Hi all, Our exciting new Hot Springs retreat is still under construction and anticipated to be open to bathe this year! Our Bath House with open and private geothermal mineral spa's is still ( and will remain) open though! :)

You get to use the heated pool but the geothermal pool is extra. Still reasonably priced.

In the two bedroom we had a queen and two king singles put Together but very comfortable

"Holidays get busy especially with families. Bring snacks and own towels although you can hire for extra. Book treatments early."

"If you are staying to use the mineral springs, stay elsewhere. You can use the springs anyway as payment is often separate. "
