We stayed for an overnight on our road trip along the coast to Robe. This is a beautiful historic place to stay which is also good value. The management were friendly and efficient in all my dealings and the service staff over dinner were exceptionally helpful. The dining room is lovely, the food well presented and there is a good wine selection by the glass. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. This hotel certainly exceeded my expectations for a country pub

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and had a very comfortable room at a very reasonable price. I also ate in the restaurant the first evening and the food and the service were excellent. I was impressed at how seriously all the staff took the COVID rules by enforcing them and unlike some of the COVID naysayers in some of the reviews here , I was happy to comply.

Dined there recently and the food was great. Excellent service. Really good staff. Centrally located. Great selection of wines. Nice atmosphere
Dining room was closed but we were able to eat in the bar area. Order at the bar and they bring the meal to your table. Half serves available too.
Recommended.

Absolutely disgusting the stuff and the food was horrible, I must say we where treated in a very rude manner.
My partner ordered a Wagyu Porterhouse steak which was $45 and it came out paper thin and over cooked and when I told the stuff about it they didn’t care at all, for that sort of money you would think it would be fantastic but no so sad to say I give this place a 0.
Matt was who I told about it and all he wanted was our money and that’s it, and waitress was Alexis and same thing with a very dirty look on her face.
Absolutely disgusting once again.

We travelled by car from Adelaide and arrived 21st Dec 2013 at 6.00 pm We were warmly welcomed by the guy behind the bar. The room was beautiful, however the facilities to make hot drinks were not in the room, which was not ideal first thing in the morning. The first evening we went downstairs into the bar, it had a lovely atmosphere plenty of happy people as it was almost xmas. The breakfast was a little disappointing. We were aware that it was Continental Style breakfast but thought cereal or prunes, then toast & a hot drink a bit sparse really. Considering what we paid we now realise other hotels nearby offered better value so shop around. On a positive note they do have a laundry you can use for free, so swings and roundabouts. If you are looking for piece and quiet then this place is not for you! It's above the bar so be aware. We loved Warrnambool we hired a bike from the Maritime village museum and cycled all along the beach front boardwalk fantastic! the Museum its self is great, allow plenty of time though as we had do a whistle stop tour of it. We stayed here three nights then set off on to the great ocean road, next stop Melboune.

Found ourselves suddenly not able to travel over borders again, lucked it and got a room here, reasonable rates, ensuite also, stayed in room 14, the Red Room, lives up to its name!! No breakfast due to covid but very central, good sized room, owners extremely friendly and helpful, lovely people, I would question the fact that no tea/coffee facilities as plenty of room, but lovely and comfortable, noisy at night but we knew that would be the case so no issue there, parking was a bit dodgy and I cannot say the meal on my partners birthday was fantastic, my meal ok but birthday boys was very tough steak. When we left we received a call to say that I had left a clothing item behind which was then posted to me on the day, great service, highly recommend the place but let down by no coffee/tea and so so meals

This truly is a beautiful hotel...from the moment you enter it is warm and welcoming. It's also always busy which makes sense once you have been there. The façade is stunning... the inside quirky and trendy, but still retaining it's heritage. It's a balance that the hotel has perfected. The staff are professional, approachable and friendly. The menu if you wish to eat here is fine dining... you will definitely pay for it, the food melts in your mouth, the waiting staff are passionate and you are in for a treat if you eat here.

We have only just arrived and checked in but thought I'd write a review based on first impressions. BEAUTIFUL heritage hotel featuring a reading room, laundry facilities and choice of ensuite or shared bathrooms. I would recommend saving money and staying in a room with a shared bathroom. Only 4 of the rooms have shared bathrooms and there are 3 bathrooms. I like those odds! First impressions are positive. I am considering packing up my house in Sydney and moving in here! Would definitely recommend! We had dinner downstairs at the pub. Yummy woodfired pizzas with unique, delicious flavours. good service, well priced.

The next day - we slept very well. Good blankets and air conditioning mean you can control the climate easily. Bathrooms are very clean and modern. Suprising for such an old building.
Continental breakfast included in the tariff was very good. Good choice of cereals, yummy sourdough toast and real coffee!

I wish we were staying another night!
Definitely recommend. The owners have done a fantastic job.
