King Studio Spa Room, fantastic room, felt very newly renovated and all mod cons.
Bed very comfortable, rain head shower great pressure and really hot water.
Spa was wonderful! Set in the room, had really hot water and good pressure jets. Fab way to unwind after a tense business meeting.
The restaurant in the Motel was great value for money, with tasty food and the portion sizes were really large.
Staff very friendly. Couldn’t fault it.

Reception:
Friendly and efficient staff

Room / facilities:
Our first room (1st floor) experienced some maintenance issues which were addressed by reception.
The second allocated room was on the ground floor, and is very spacious with a comfortable king bed, bed side tables with 1 lamp, massive modern bath room and walk in shower, lounge and flat screen tv, split system air con tea and coffee facilities, study and dining tables, wardrobe, iron and board and luggage rack, loads of free parking, tea and coffee facilities.

Wifi:
Very fast signal and complementary

Breakfast:
Available, but not utilised during this stay

Conclusion:
Centrally located hotel, despite being on the main road, it is very quiet, with good facilities.

Letdowns:
Poor maintenance in some rooms, dated furnishings (first allocated room)

Location / Nearby:
Pool, bbq area, walking distance to many take away outlets and the main shopping area.
Flagstaff attraction is only a 5 minute drive.

From the cleanliness of the rooms to the friendly staff that went above and beyond to assist in every which way they could especially one lady by the name of Jan. I was treated so very well. Jan went above and beyond to ensure I had a place to stay when I was unsure as to the duration I required somewhere to stay. Even staying back beyond the hours of operation of front desk and knowing the phone line would automatically divert to the after hours operator, and confirming with me by calling my mobile that I had somewhere to stay as I was having issues with my bank and unsure if I were able to access funds to pay for a room. All of this done in her own time and from her kindness of making sure I had a place to stay rather then sleeping in my car. Never have I been so appreciative for someones concern and generosity for assisting me. Well done Jan you should be next in line to run the place. Thank you

I have never left a bad review for a motel before, however this place was terrible. Stayed 3 nights for speedway in room 57. Definitely needs renovating, but had read motel is part way through renovations so knew room would probably be very dated. On the second night was woken in the night by running water. Assumed it was the shower however on investigation found water leaking out of air conditioner down wall and onto benchtop. As was middle of night put a towel underneath and advised reception the next morning. Also advised iron did not seem to be working. We were told they would contact maintenance. We went on our way for the day. When we returned to the room late that night we found the air conditioner was still leaking and the power points were now it working. The carpet under the bench top was wet and upon having a look at the bottom of the bench it was obvious this was not the first time this area had been wet. We now had a leaking air conditioner, wet carpet and an obvious electrical issue. Rang the night manager who came and put us in an alternate room for the night. She had not been advised of anything by management and was very helpful given the circumstances. This room was renovated and quite nice, however had a large bug zapper directly outside the door which zapped loudly all night. After an average sleep we were surprised by a cleaner entering our room while I was in the bathroom and my husband still in bed. It seems no-one communicated the room change to the cleaning staff. Upon check out I waited to see if anything was said about the incidents. As nothing was said I brought up the fact that I found it all very unsatisfactory. The manager told me he was sorry for the inconvenience but they had had maintenance attend the room and clear a blocked pipe in the air conditioner and they felt the issue had been resolved. However saturated towels were still on the bench top when we had returned to the room, the carpet was wet and if they had checked the iron they would have discovered the power points had shorted out. The only good thing about the place was the bed in room 57 is very comfortable. I won’t be back and cannot recommend.

My exhausted husband arrived at the Mid City Motel last night after two gruelling days of meetings and medical tests to find the bottom sheet didn’t cover the mattress. He therefore paid $150 for a bed that he couldn’t sleep in. We have stayed here before and have been happy. Maybe this short sheeting is part of a money saving venture, but they have lost us. Are they saving money on the cost of the fabric in the sheet or are they saving 30 seconds for the housekeeper to pull the bottom on the fitted sheet into place. Whatever they are doing is false economy. Travellers are getting more sophisticated and don’t pay top dollar for bottom dollar quality.

Hi LinLee2016 We are very sorry that your husband felt uncomfortable during his stay with us. We usually receive very positive feedback regarding the comfort-ability of our rooms and bedding as each bed has three sheets provided including a bottom sheet and two top sheets with a blanket placed between them. Although we do completely sympathise with your husband’s situation as we do understand the value of a good night’s sleep especially after a long day. We take pride in providing a comfortable stay for all our guests. After our initial conversation, we were under the impression that we had come to an agreeable resolution with you over the phone . If you would like to speak with me further about this please call me on 03 5562 3866

We booked a premium King room which was very spacious and nice. Had all the amenities and the bed was comfortable.
Location of the hotel is very good and an easy walk to all shops in city centre. Free onsite parking is always good to have.
Hotel provided free Wi-fi access but when we tried logging in-didn’t work. We did not bother asking as we had our phone data.
Basic soaps were provided but other than that when we asked for dental kit- they did not have any.
Overall a good experience.

From the outside, this looks like a pretty average old-school motel. However the rooms have been updated and are comfortable with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. I was expecting more given the 5 star premium price being charged between Christmas and new year and so was disappointed overall given how much I'd paid and it turned out to be poor value for money. There's a small pool with BBQ area but no cooking facilities or crockery which was disappointing given their kitchen was closed and no meals available. But the location is good on the edge of the CBD so easy to walk from here to shops and restaurants. There were many families staying so it was pretty noisy with noise carrying from one room to another and the layout of the motel meaning people walk past your window all the time. Good option overall as long as you're not caught out by their price gauging at busy times as I was.

Let me say at the outset that this place is clean, and for a room with a king bed and a separate couch table TV area for 140 odd dollars it is pretty good value. The thing that surprised me is it has a toaster and air fryer and a microwave but does not have any cutlery or any plates or anything actually. You get two small cups for tea and one spoon, and no other utensils whatsoever so realistically you cannot eat your own stuff in the room, or you can’t even eat takeaway in the room. We had to eat pizza out of the box.. The spa was not working, and It has a sign up that it is temporarily out of order, and the sign looks like it’s been up for years… So I don’t think you’ll be having a spa if you come here. The welcome when we checked in was pretty much non-existent, no smile and slightly above grunt level, but we’re not hiring a friend we are hiring a room, and its location, and the comfortable bed and the fact it is clean, means I will come here again. To the management all you need to do to fix this place is smile, and put some basic cutlery and crockery in the room, and fix the spa.

What a disappointment this hotel was after reading some of the reviews.
The worst thing was the smell in the room. It smelt like a nursing home.
We clearly didn’t get a renovated room and it was dated beyond belief with stained curtains and holes in the walls.
I’ve never done this before but I actually looked online to see if I could book another hotel. Unfortunately everywhere within our budget was booked out.
I’ve nothing positive to say about this place from the moment we checked in.

BEWARE: I had the worst encounter I have ever had at this motel. Firstly, we came in and there were strange men next door staring that made me feel extremely uncomfortable as a 25yo female. The room itself stank, was stale and had mould in the bathroom and was nothing like the photos online. Asked for a refund, or even a partial refund as we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping there and were met with hostility and ignorance from the manager stating “this is a motel what do you expect”. There was no cancellation or refund policy and he refused to give us any money back because he had “20 vacant rooms”. Disgusting customer service and also charged us the full $50 deposit totalling $194 for a room we couldn’t even sleep in! From the looks of the other reviews this motel is in breach of many consumer laws and will be getting reported to the ACCC.
