I was prepared for a run down hostel dorm room when I arrived here, but I wasn't quite prepared for the filth that greeted me when I walked into my room after having checked in. Open food containers and beer bottles everywhere with everything but the kitchen sink being spread around the floor in some manner. The weirdest thing is...

It was $35 each for a 8 bed dorm or $70 for a double room so we went for the double room thinking it would be quite nice but we were wrong! From the start we had problems checking in and having to carry our bags up down up down as the key didn't work in the door! The whole...

Your review is appreciated thank you for taking the time to publish it. We have installed new state of the art door locks on all of our doors so it comes as a surprise to me that the key cards malfunctioned in this instance. I will be sure to look into this matter immediately. There is a certain charm to...

Perfect location for st kilda beach, then the CBD is little bit further out have take the tram. Nice hostel overall, my bed was comfy and the curtain for privacy was a nice touch. Storage lockers for bags was massive could fit all my stuff into that. Only problem was the price was expensive $42 a night. Although I stayed...

This is a HUGE hostel, and can house many many many people, and yet it is always clean and tidy and well cared for. Wasn't hard to make friends (and it helps when you get lost in the many stair cases and labyrinth of hallways) someone is always willing to help point you in the right direction. Beds were solid,...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! It was a pleasure to have you! I'm glad you made it out of St Kilda Alive! Your 3am drama sounds like a disaster! Luckily all our front desk staff are first aid trained for incidents just like this! Hope you're ok. The idea behind the restricted hours on...

It was just ok. Staff was not attentive. We rang the bell 3 times in the middle of night but nobody open the door. Luckily we enter when someone goes inside. The hotel was very old. We knew it is backpacker hotel and we stay for 5 hours only. Upon Asking for late checkout they asked extra money but then...

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a reviews! We're wrapped that you stayed with us. Sometimes our night staff are up in the hostel patrolling the halls making sure that everything is up to scratch and carrying out extra cleaning duties. This is why the door may not have been answered promptly in the middle of the evening....

First of all thanks for mentioning the light and charged on every bed. They actually have 2 USB charging ports, 2 power points and one light per bed! We're upset to hear that you experience was less than excellent, Our cleaning team services the communal bathrooms 4 times a day and the ensuites twice a day! new clean sheets are...

I'm not usually one to leave a review on a hostel but after the manager asked me 'Id appreciate it if you told me about your experience on trip advisor' I thought i should! So, I was in town for a gig in St Kilda for one night travelling from Shepparton. I checked in at the hostel and they were...

Ha Ha Ha, Thanks for the kind words! That was one heck of a week! Sometimes works that you can't avoid really throw a spanner into the works! We do what we can to soften the blow, often it can be as simple as a couple of drinks on us and a slice of Pepperoni! Hope to see you here...

The hostel is located close to the beach which is good and is within close proximity to transport. The hostel itself has a good vibe and most of the staff are helpful and friendly. The kitchen area was relatively unclean and small though so cooling can be hard at busy times. The renovated bathrooms are good although both showers I...

Stayed here for 2 nights while in St kilda, reception staff on check-in were really rude. The room smelt bad. I couldn't sleep as people were in and out all night and work men start work at 8am next door. This is very much a party hostel.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! It's displeasing to hear that you were under the impression that our reception team were less than friendly when you checked in. We pride ourselves on handpicking the right people for the position and host monthly customer service training sessions. It's unfortunate that the workmen next door got you up...

This hostel is ideal for backpackers and young travellers. There was a great atmosphere and so I found it was really easy to make friends which was great as I'm travelling alone. Rooms were spacious and actually got cleaned every day, beds (which had privacy curtains, a light, 2 USB ports and 2 plug sockets each) were always remade with...
