Hubby booked us a room at The Prince as his work was having their Xmas party in the restaurant. When I got off the bus and saw "The Prince" my first thought was "geez, what a dive". It looks like the quintessential aussie city pub. However when I went up the side street and into the hotel reception my fears...

It is only recently, my wife and I were spoilt for food quality and inventiveness between the Iberian Peninsula and the Maltese Islands. They can't do this at home in Victoria. Wrong!. We attended a wedding held at the Prince and even stayed there. The canapes were beautifully presented and served by cheerful obliging waiting staff over a twilight on...

The hotel may have been nice at one point but the majority of it is quite run-down now. The carpet in the elevator and throughout the hotel is very dirty and full of stains, the walls are all a bit stained and dirty and the furniture in the rooms is dinged and damaged. My phone didn't have any information on...

Hotel with history and reputation ....I was visiting with my girl friend from Melbourne, who remembers this place from the 1990's. Seems like they haven't decorated since ... the pub at the front is still great....however the hotel itself is a little tired, the statement piece in the lobby- an expensive Eames chair - was badly scratched and chipped....carpets were...

The room was clean and decent for St Kilda. Great position, too. Dead bird on the window sill - no-one bothered to remove. We stayed Saturday and Sunday nights and on one night there was a wedding and on the other there was a club party going on. Revellers where having fun in the corridors leading to the rooms -...

I regularly visit Melbourne and will definitely return to the Prince. The location is fantastic, especially if you have a car and need to be traveling around, however, even without one it's in good reach of public transport. It is in a nice pocket of St Kilda, close to the beach and also there are some lovely little cafes, restaurants...

The central air-conditioning did not appear to be working the day I checked in (mid-December 2016). In the first room, I called to complain about the heat in the room. I was first asked to leave the temperature at 20 degrees (I had clicked it down to 16) for 20 minutes. This did nothing to relieve the heat. I then...
