The rooms are ok if you can overlook the peeling paint, mold, and stained towels. My issue was we went to check in (private room) and were informed there was new ownership so not only was our reservation lost they refused to honor the rate of 75 dollars insisting we now pay 85! The best part was as I explained...

Great hostal with great people and staff. Perfect for backpackers like myself. Cheap and cheerful and it's exactly what is says on the tin. Good location and not far from the beach at all. Highly recommended

This hostel is marketed as homey, quiet alternative. Staff were very friendly and I had the double room with its own ensuite. Tea, coffee, milk, kettle, toasters and cups were provided. That's the positives. If you don't mind noise, don't need frills like heating or lighting, and don't mind about a bit of grime then this is OK for you....

Hi, I'm so sorry your stay was so below par. Although I was not present on the particular Friday night you stayed with us I can firmly say that every night at Home Travellers is not like the one you described. Occasionally (some Fridays or Saturdays) our guests like to have a bit of a party but all staff working...

I enjoyed my stay at Home. It is a basic hostel but comes at a fair price. Nothing fancy but has a homely feel to it. Extremely social enviroment, perfect for travellers to meet new people and feel comfortable for the duration of your stay. I would recommend it, location is perfect. Close to beach, nightlife, city centre and right...

Great location in st kilda close to bars, restaurants and the beach/Luna Park. I would go as far as saying the staff were fantastic and they had free parking too. Unfortunately we had numerous problems with noise at stupid hours.. I get partying and having a laugh. But when some idiot decided to have the loudest drunk conversation outside your...

Hi! Thanks for reviewing. I'm really sorry about the noise disturbance. As you speculated, we do take midnight noise seriously. I'm like you and cant stand when people do that! It's unfortunate that some people can be so selfish. Next time, have a chat with reception as we do offer ear plugs for instances just like this :) That aside,...

Home travellers was just like home. I was supposed to be there five days but ended up staying for five weeks. There was amazing people and i had so much fun. The staff was just great and always helping if u needed anything. The rooms were cleaned everyday and so was the kitchen. Can't really complain for anything.

We stayed in an 8 bed dorm for three nights (30$ pp/night) and that was enough for our taste. Every dorm has its own bathroom which is good and there is a spacious though still too small kitchen where you can also store your groceries. The staff was also pretty helpful but still there were a few things that really...

Stayed here as a solo female traveller on Holiday, really looked forward to it, good point was I had a large room with fridge & own bathroom. However the front door didn't shut properly, there is mould on the windows & corners of room, tired scruffy decor, my kettle didn't work & I asked reception & was told they would...

I can highly recommend this hostel to people who are looking for a nice and relaxed stay in st Kilda. The atmosphere is really good, the staff is friendly and the rooms are always clean plus every room has its own bathroom. The kitchen is alright, there are just a bit to less dishes so sometimes you have to improve...

“Given people leave their belongings lying around on the floor hence it's a messy shared room, the double's the solution & the t.v might actually work in a private room with your own neat & clean bathroom!(The towel on the floor 7 the water on the floor wasn't good & items in the shower which looked unclean & likely to cause accidents re open razors lying on the shower recess!).”
