Detailed Reviews
Booked 3 nights accommodation for a Queen room.
A very informative friendly check in with a map marked & plenty of info.
We were allocated Room 6 on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The room is large with a queen size bed & a a single bed. Plenty of bench space, 2 easy chairs & 2 chairs & table. Theres a microwave, some cutlery & crockery, quiet bar fridge. toaster tea/coffee making, iron & board. The wifi is free fast & can be relied on. There is an openable window The room has a separate door with security screen out to a courtyard, with a table &2 chairs. The air con was appreciated too.
The ensuite is also a good size with a walk in shower and good water pressure. There is an openable window & good lighting over the hand basin.
If you need your room serviced (which we didn't) you need to put the little card out so they Know.
The motel offers free laundry, which is so useful when you are travelling. I offered to use our own washing detergent, but the generous owner said to use theirs. There is also a dryer.
The motel is in a good location as it located about 250m from the Murray & about the same to the centre of town, with lots of good eateries in easy walking distance. Its close to main roads for omwars travel. There is no noise.
We did not need anything extra & thought it was an excellent place to stay

We had stayed at this Motel a couple of times before & think it wonderful. So coming thro again, I knew where we would stay.
Phoned the new owners to book.
We stayed for 1 night at a price of $130 for a double.
A very friendly welcome.
Allocated Room 5 on the ground floor. The carpark is off to the side. The room is a good size. Its all the same as the tines we were here before. What is really good is that there is a rear door opening out from our room to the private courtyard.
The location is within easy walking distance to the town & also to enjoy the Murray River.
Wifi is fast & free.
The ensuite is a good size, with squeezy toilettries bottles on the wall. The shower cubicle is a good size & the water hot.
There is no road traffic noise & we slept well.
We will stay here again & recommend this motel.

+1
Stayed in a very spacious ground floor room with good facilities and the added bonus of a rear courtyard area to sit out in if required.
Owners/staff very friendly and helpful during stay.
Motel has some off street parking and also on street right at the front and in general area, small swimming pool which is very close to some ground floor rooms and a nice open grassed lawn area to relax in.
Handy location for a short walk to riverside precinct, shops, cinema, restaurants and takeaways.
Although a small motel (14 rooms ?) there are ground floor and first floor rooms, we found much louder noise transmission coming through from the room above more than anywhere else we have stayed. Could hear people above moving about a lot, most conversions and I know the male guest above had his first pee of the day at 7.50 a.m.!. They weren't noisy people no stereos or late night drinking just poor sound insulation between floors. Something to be aware of when you book would suggest having a 1st floor room not ground but then you may become the noisy guest just with normal behaviour.

Convenient location with short walk to central Mildura for eating and drinking options and also the river with some nice walks to stretch the legs. Very friendly and helpful service - took the time to explain where everything was in the town and recommend some eating options The building is a bit tired and doesn't look much from the front, but rooms were spacious, comfortable, quiet and good value. Plenty of parking.

This motel was really clean. I loved that management had thought to put bowls, plates and cutlery and even a basin for washing up. Microwave for heating food was a bonus. Would highly recommend this little motel and a big thank you to management for a lovely stay.

We have stayed here before and I was recognized on arrival and Tony was very helpful in terms of providing a very good room and lots of advice including places to eat dinner. Room was large and easily accommodated our bikes. Overall a very pleasant one night stay.

We had a king room upstairs. It was lovely - clean, modern, spacious, comfortable. The location was very convenient. The management was very welcoming and gave us a great trip for a cycle trail along the river. Thanks, everything was excellent.

Booked based on reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Got a really friendly welcome from the guy and good info about Mildura and places to eat etc.
Although room was quite dark it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.
Central location to the town and ado the river, with secure parking and was very quiet at night with no noise from other rooms or surrounding area.

We stayed here for one night on a two-week roadtrip during which we overnighted in a number of motels.
On the whole the average motel is functional accommodation and most places are very similar. The rooms tend to be similar in sizes (small but with enough space to move around). They have similar facilities and varying scales of cleanliness and cost. Some have a staffed reception and others are unmanned with a phone number to tell you how to get your key. They are often located on the outskirts of town by a busy road.
The City Colonial Motor Inn is different as follows:
1. Manned reception with a very friendly welcome from the owner
2. Big rooms with a large comfortable lounge area in front of the bed.
3. Very comfortable bed and a great night’s sleep
4. Spotlessly clean and with all the items you’d expect.
5. Superb location, right in the centre of Mildura near all shops and restaurants.
6. Not situated on a main road and rooms located at the rear, so very quiet
7. Reasonably priced and therefore very good value.
8. Plus, it has a lovely swimming pool.
So, this is definitely not your average motel. We enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

Clean and comfortable, right in the middle of Mildura and a short walk to the RSL and shops. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep after a long days driving. The Motel rooms are set at the back so no road noise, shower was also very good.
