Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

we stayed just before Easter in a camper trailer. The sites were tiny, but grassy. Over the fence was a 24hr petrol station and car wash and on the other side was a factory. So very noisy. The bathrooms were very old, but water pressure was ok. The swimming pool was able to be seen from the highway. Location is ok, if you want to shop

The manager of this park : "Does not care what you write on Trip Advisor and will get his solicitor", which should give you some indication of his lack of management skills and how he responds to negative feedback.

As i had much work to do upon booking i asked if they had Wi-fi. Yes they do.. Great. Upon arriving i asked for the wifi password.. Oh sorry something seems to be wrong with the machine, we will try later. 3 hours later the wife comes to my (room for another reason) & i remind her about the wi-fi. I tell her i cannot locate any network in this area on any of my devices. She responds: "oh right, yeah the wifi - ah sometimes the hot weather interferes.. try again tonight" Sure, yeah what ever..

At 4.30pm i phone the office to say as there is still no locatable wifi network i will not stay tomorrow night and will be requesting a refund. Sure enough.. 5 mins later the husband calls with the magical wifi password for me to come and collect from reception. I cant help but wonder how the wife expected me to connect later tonight without this password?

I go to the office to get the wifi password from the wife and see a $50 charge on the docket. I ask if this is for me to pay? The wife says - "oh no thats our fee, we pay that.. See it costs us when you need wifi - that will last our park a week." Is she serious.. .er yes it costs you.. you run the park! and i pay the nightly fee in order to use the service. is she this dumb...?

So it was very clear to me that they were hoping i would simply give up as they were trying to avoid paying their $50 fee. As the wife clearly knew the password set up i was very upset about being lied to .. hot weather blah blah, sure woman. I see other people on here have simply given up on the wifi too - they must not have gotten to the password stage.

I went back to room to activate the password - and they had not provided me network name.. so i call reception to get it. The wife says.. "oh my husband is not here... i dont know it" That's it! I'm checking out, this is crap - wasted my day.

Another note - my room was full of bleach which caused my skin to itch and feet to burn. Had to air out the room for hours as i got a headache and showered twice to remove the misty particles from my skin as my eyes were stinging. It was worse in the kids room (i had a cabin) and i cant help but think how little kids would have reacted to it.

The bully husband seemed to think i was not entitled to any refund even though his advertised wifi was not available. Even for the following night. So i paid 2 nights and stayed none. This man is an idiot with no regard for goodwill.

This was my 3rd time staying here but unfortunately will be my last. I booked both a 1BR and 2BR cabin as another couple were travelling with us. The floor in their cabin was very dirty with dust and a sand like grit on the floor (impossible for bare feet)! The floor was swept several times before it was ok.....but under the bed was a pair of blacks ladies pants!!! Next was the 2BD cabin that I had booked for my own use, as we thought we would have a bit more room this year. The floor was disgusting and the "fluff' under the bed took 3 sweeps before it was acceptable. The bunk bed in the 2nd bedroom had the worst mattress I have ever slept on and was covered in vinyl, therefore being very cold. The bathroom was also very tired and the shower base was stained. Lots of cobwebs and dead spiders, maybe it had been sprayed and not cleaned after.
I don't think this caravan park is up to the standard expected of a "Top Tourist Park".

calder caravan park mildura victoria australia
We were extremelly disgusted with this park
We stayed in two bedroom delux cabin (not cheap)
It was absolutally filthy and the people who run this park would have to be the rudest people i have ever met in my life.
I could not believe that the racv have rated this park as 4 1/2 star
the first thing we noticed was when we went to go up the stairs to get in the cabin the stairs were broken and they swung sideways to the point were they were dangerous
Then we had trouble opening the door because the door handle was half hanging off
after we finally got in we started to unpack i placed my 12 month old grandson on the floor he crawled around for about 5 min until i noticed his knees hands and tops of his feet were absolutally filthy (and i mean black)
I went to open one of the bedroom doors and the handle fell off
I looked in the bathroom and around the bottom of the walls and in the corners of the showers there was clumps of old dried up hair and gunge
Then to my disgust i looked at the bed and there was dried feaces on the doona cover.
As we had already paid for two nights i went to see the owners and asked if they could send a cleaner to clean our cabin which did not happen so we cleaned it ourselves this was the beginning of the nightmare i though i was already in.
I was wrong because it got much much worse after this. As we had gone to mildura on holiday because we have family living there they came to the park it is very hot in mildura so we all sat outside our cabin to have a few drinks and catch up at 10.30pm a security gaurd turned up and asked our visitors to leave he said he had recieved a phone call from the owners that there were a group of people in the park who did not belong and all visitors to the park have to be out by 10pm mind you our visitors were my daughter and her husband a four year old who was asleep in the cabin and a six week old who was asleep in a pram beside us. We were not making any noise and the next day i asked the other people staying around us if we had disturbed them and they all said they did not even hear us at all even the security gaurd said he did not understand why they had called him he said usally the only time he gets called is when there are people causing trouble and being loud
After this i read through the rules of the park from cover to cover and not once did it state guest must be out of the park by 10pm so i asked the owners the next morning and they said in the rules it states all noise must cease at 10 pm and that means the same thing as all guests must leave by 10pm they also said they didn’t call the security gaurd they just do random checks on there own. I explained that he had told us that they had called him so they amended there statement and admitted that they had called. I couldn’t believe it i didn’t understand why they didn’t just come and see us themselves instead of calling security.
It gets worse though at 5pm we were sitting at the pool with my daughter and her family who had come back to see us when the owner comes in and starts abusing us his words were whats your [--] problem mate dont you understand what rules are. Are you stupid or something pack your stuff up and get out of my park your out get out right now i have called security they will be here soon to escort you out now [--] mind you he was yelling at the top of his lungs it was very embarassing
You see we had broken the rules my daughter had taken my grandaughter swimming and they were not paying guests and the rules stated no non paying guests to swim in pool
And my husband was consuming a beer at the pool and there was no alcohol allowed in pool area which we admit was wrong but he was not intoxicated and we were not loud or causing any problems
Yes we had broken the rules and the security guard turned up and we were made to leave we asked for our money back for the night we still had left but they refused to give our money back and they were not polite about it either he likes to swear alot. $220 of our money down the drain and not a thing we could do about it we left the park
One positive note though i am so proud of my husband after being sworn at being called stupid and totally embarassed in front of other guests in the park he kept his cool i could see he was fuming with anger but he stayed polite and never raised his voice even when this horrible person was waving his finger in his face and yelling. In my book that makes him a better man than that monster who runs the Calder caravan park in mildura victoria.
My conclusion is that this all happened because we complained about how filthy our cabin was.
Thank you for listening. writing this has made me feel a sense of release this would have to have been the worst experience i have ever had it was very traumatic for myself and my family
Sincerlly Leanne may

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff at Calders Caravan Park. The extent of their unwelcoming behaviour ended with us choosing to leave without refund in search of other sites with people who actually know what working in tourism is all about. Which might I ad there are plenty of wonderful places to stay in Mildura, that will actually offer what they advertise.
Apart from the disgraceful behaviour presented by the staff; the ground was too hard for tent pegs to go in, the cabins were too small, the advertised ping pong table was broken with bats snapped in half, the showers were disgusting and uninviting, the pool was too freezing even for 40 degree heat, and the whole site was in a constant mess.
Don't let Calders Caravan Park ruin a possibly wonderful Mildura experience for you.

Well arrived at our destination to find a large pool of water in the kitchen, airconditioner leaking, advised the manager and she said she would get her husband to look at it, never happened. Stove top only worked no oven shower pissed water to the roof when you had a shower and no cover on verandah so you could not sit outside. My family came to visit and the owner Grace told my nephew of for using the tap he was only filling his water balloons up and she said you don't belong here and cannot use my tap.so he got scared and would not go outside again.Park is pet friendly not kid friendly. No wonder they are selling the Caravan park not the sort of person that should be running one very unfriendly. Cabins need to be gutted and updated, very very disappointed.

Small, cramped and grumpy.
There are so many better places to stay in Mildura. This place has poor facilities, charges more than it's worth, and all the staff act like we're an inconvenience to them.

Find somewhere else to stay. We've stayed at Golden River park before and loved it. I wish we'd stayed there this trip. This place is miserable.

Unfortunately, although the park may have been clean and organised my experience was so bad I left two days early. I can not believe the other reviews I have read here about noise complaints. I left because of the noise.. I was camping in a tent and when I booked the site not only did I inform them of this I also requested to not be under any trees. I was put in the worst imaginable camp spot, right on the other side of the adjacent wall was the largest car wash and 24hour service station I have ever seen. The vehicles utilising the car wash were being redirected to the exit straight past my camp spot with only a metal fence to separate the drive way and my patch of grass. People were vacuuming at 2am, trucks were going by, idiots doing burn outs.. It was unbearable.
Other campers noise would have been welcomed...
There is no way the owners could not be awareof this situation yet they put a camper in a tent next to the wall. The 24hour car wash consisted of approx 6 washing bays and three vacuuming ones. The only other spot they offered me was shared with three massive hot water units.
Not a good place to go in a tent.
The owners could not even offer an acknowledgement let alone apology or refund in good faith when I attempted to inform them of why I left.
Once again I contend that I believe they knew full well of the 24hour torturous and constant noise I was being subjected to.
Also, in their advertising they claim to be in the heart of Mildura. Be warned they are not. They are of course near a very busy shopping precinct that you will hear day and night, but if you want to be in the heart of Mildura camp near the river.
