Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic way to enjoy our first Out of Iso getaway - spending the long weekend with friends (finally allowed) on an island in the Gippsland Lakes. Accommodation in the original old homestead is comfortable with lovely wide verandahs to sit and admire the beautiful views. The house is well maintained, has 11 comfortable bedrooms and 2 very effective open fires. Large kitchen & 2 BBQ areas for self-catering. The weather in Gippsland over the winter months is usually milder than Melbourne, and I'm told the fishing is good though not when I try. With a 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, games room, pool and lovely kangaroo spotting walks around the island, this is a great way to spend a few days away on your very own private island.

17 friends had five nights on the island. For some of us, this was our fifth visit over 30 years! We had fabulous weather (all aged between 65 and 75, but still active!) for walking, golf (9 hole golf course), tennis (two tennis courts) and swimming, both in the pool and off the jetty. Our fishermen had a wonderful time, catching 10, huge, luderick (black fish) off the front jetty. The homestead sleep 30plus, and it is all self-catering, which we find easy ... after all the wine and beer, we take home a lot less!
I'm so pleased, for us, that this seems to be still a hidden treasure.

32 members of the Gippsland Valuers Group went to the Island for our 35th annual Fraser Island conference. Cracking weekend as usual. Golf, tennis, swimming fishing, great times. Oh and some work related stuff. Booked already for next year. Top job Pete and Lin.

friends hire the Island for a joint 50th and it was lovely . All facilities if you wanted to swim, golf, fish, walk or just chill on the verandah. The ferry out was a great way to see the scenery too. and you can park your car at the general store for a small fee

We came across Fraser Island resort when we hired a putt putt boat and toured the lakes around Metung & Lakes Entrance last Friday (30 September). It was a charming-looking resort and we decided to stop and make some enquiries, and perhaps have a drink if they had a bar/cafe open. After heading for what we thought was the reception we realised the place was deserted, probably off-season or perhaps in between bookings, and we started to head back to our boat. On the way back, we were conforonted with an extremely bad-tempered individual who starting ranting about us being on private property. He then told us we'd find our boat floating out towards the middle of the lake. We were alarmed as we knew we had moored it securely. We got towards where we had left the boat and it was indeed un-moored and floating some 500 metres out towards the middle of the lake. Rod had to jump in and swim to retrieve it. All I can say is, lucky he's a strong swimmer! I would advise caution if you're considering booking at this resort - the man there doesn't seem too friendly. :(

We had our Wedding on Fraser Island and it was magical. The location is just beautiful, with garden lawns and perfect water views. It was just the perfect weekend. The homestead is beautiful and our guests loved their stay. The island manager Matt was absolutely amazing to deal with-he just couldnt have been more helpful, organising boats to ensure our weekend went smoothly. Matt went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful. Overall I cannot rate this location more highly. We couldnt have asked for a more perfect wedding.
