Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The log cabins are beautifully immersed in a bush setting, with great amenities. This includes a fireplace for romantic and/or colder evenings. The location is perfect for various outdoor activities, whether you take your bike for stunning and hilly training rides, your water sport equipment, or runing gear to experience outstanding trail runs through the local forests. Mitch has been a fantastic host. Overall great energy around this place.

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the tranquility. Beautiful bushland setting and a bag of bird seed each day to entice the king parrots to us. Amazing birds - the males ate the seed straight out of our hands! The kids loved it. An amazing experience. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. We will be back!

Stayed for 3 nights and loved it. Very peaceful bush setting, had beautiful parrots and possums visit us on our verandah, very cozy and clean cabin with woodfire which was great on the cold June nights but also had reverse cycle split system. Each cabin has own bbq on the decking. Lesley the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway. Would suggest the Bushman's cottage which is at the end of the block looking into the bush and was the most secluded which is the one we had and the next one I would suggest if that's not available would be the Grazier's cottage also looking into bush but all cabins are similar so not a big issue whichever one but some don't have a woodfire so request if you really want one.

Staff were abesnt the 3/4 days we were there
Needs a good update, needs to be cleaned and refurbished in between guested staying,
Utensils were broken, mouse poo in cupboards,we were too scared to even cook there, mould tea bags in pot, dead mouse in cupboard on arrival, floors were not vacuumed, split system had no remote, no fire wood coz they “ran out”.
Couldn’t get bird seed coz the office was not occupied and they didn’t answer their phone. Booked for 6 but he said oh how many people do you have and I said 6 like I booked, “oh well it’s set for 5 but you’ll be right”.
Used the laundry and there wasn’t even powder to buy like advertised.
The place is a mess and needs some love.
Sad too coz even though it’s left me to give a review like this we had a great time and the kids loved being able to collect trees and make fires and enjoy like with out devices.

This is our second visit to the log cabins and we loved it just as much as the first time. It’s just so peaceful sitting on the balcony feeding the birds. The cabin is basic but has everything you need, the shower is great which is always a big plus.
We will definitely be back

Such a relaxing experience. You get to enjoy magical surroundings with visits from wildlife day and night. Owner is very friendly. So cheap compared to everywhere else and your only a 3 minute drive to the beach. Great place to come back to relax after a day of exploring. All ur essentials are there ready for you. Will be back again.

Our family booked for 1 night stay @ Lakes Entrance Log Cabin.

We enjoyed the beautiful, tranquil log cabin concept with campfire + stunning woods view + BBQ + some wild animal visitors.

We arrive late and have fun till late night.

However, when my 9 year old child tried sleeping on the upper deck bed, within 1 minute the bed frame (bottom part) cracked very badly on the side, and we did not dare to let our children sleep on the upper deck beds for fear of crashing down on the lower deck.

As it's late night about 11pm, we did not want to disturb the owners and we just shifted all 4 mattresses (upper & bottom decks) to living room area to sleep together... rather uncomfortably I would say...

The next morning, when we explained the incident to the lady, the lady is kind, understanding and even took time to explain the different bird species & late night visitors to us....She mentioned she will report to the guy and that's where our ugly experience started.

The moment the guy stepped out of the car, his attitude is appalling as his first words "Show me your damage?"

He kept blaming my boy that he damaged the bed thru activities.
If you looked at their cabin photos, there's not much space between upper deck bed & ceiling - It's impossible for any jumping/ running activities on beds
How can you keep blaming other people while overlooking the fact that your bed furniture quality is questionable?

When we explained that to him, he smirked, "I'm saying it could be you (father) jumping on the bed"

His attitude is bad showing 0 empathy...

My experience would have been great if it's incident free...

This is my first ever negative review in the forum.
Hope that this review will result in the owner showing more heart & empathy to the guests when incidents happen...

I can pay you the bed frame $$$ cost!
But you cannot pay me if the upper deck crashes down & hurt my precious children!

We spent 3 night here (stayed in the Shearers Cabin) in early December 2012. The place is amazing as is the wild life that comes to be feed on your balcony. We had all kinds of Birds, Kookaburras & Possums (at night). We even saw an Echidna. The Cabin was very roomy with a separate room for the kids (we didn't have any with us). The queen bed is in a part of the main room as is the kitchen (with a full size Fridge), dining area & lounge. There is a full lounge suit with 2 recliners. The toilet is in the roomy bathroom.
The Deck has a railing all the way around it & has a BBQ & table & chairs. We used this each night. Out the front there is a fire pit with wood if u want to have a camp fire. There r no stairs.
On site is a laundry near to the reception. The Hosts are lovely & very helpful. It is about 10 minutes out of town in the hills.

Spent 4 nights there via successful Travel Auctions bid. We loved it. Vastly different from what you would normally expect for accommodation in Lakes Entrance. Only a short drive into town but oh so quiet and peaceful in fantastic bush/treed surroundings.Cottages are located separately so you have plenty of privacy. There are birds a plenty, Rosella's, Parrots , Kookaburra's etc to keep you entertained. Each cottage has a balcony with a bird tray for feeding. Seed can be bought from reception or take your own. Rooms are very spacious with LCD TV. Night time presents an opportunity to have a fire outside. Gather wood yourself or purchase from reception. Nothing like having a fire under the stars, with a glass of red wine & at the same time being entertained by very friendly possums. Owners are very accommodating and friendly. Just ask and they will do their best to satisfy your request. Highly recommended. We would not hesitate to return. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed 3 nights and felt totally relaxed. Waking up to the birds and feeding them was beautiful. After aday of fishing then coming back to our cabin feeding the possums at night then retiring indoors to stoke up the fire and relax was just perfect. Everything we wanted for a relaxing get away. The lovely hosts Lesly & David were extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Could not fault anything about staying at the Log Cabins. If you are after a true get away and a sense of being away from the hustle and bustle then we could not recommend these cabins anymore than what we have.
Thank you from Maree & Bron
we will definitely be back:)
