We stayed in Fishpen cottage and rate it as the best self catered accommodation we have experienced. It is so spacious and clean. The attention to detail , layout, decor is wonderful and contributes to feeling so relaxed. It has a kitchen with all appliances and utilities. The washing machine and dryer came in handy . We loved having a spa bath. It also has a very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend

What can we say but thank you. It is a positive guest experience we strive for and while the last two years have mandated some changes, we are so happy when guests come away happy too. We also appreciated the personal thank you in the cottage guestbook.

Very pleased with our stay. Very clean and tidy. The couches were slightly uncomfortable by being too hard and not soft. Other than that it was good. The grounds are beautiful and would have a myriad of birdlife but it was pouring rain when we were there so we couldn’t bird watch. The spa was also closed due to covid restrictions. The area is very quiet and relaxing. The only thing we were disgruntled with was that we had to empty the bins and wash the dishes when we paid a premium to stay there. I didn’t expect to do any housework.

Thank you for reviewing us - it is lovely to be open again after so long in lockdown. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay - ironically most people like the firm leather couches so sorry it didn't suit you. Doing some courtesy cleaning is very standard practice in most self catering accommodation and helps keep costs down so you don't actually pay an actual premium.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Waverley House Cottages. Jan and Rob (and Barney!) are great hosts. The property is situated on beautiful bushland with birds everywhere. We found the location to be very convenient to grocery shopping (<10min) and the many activities available in the area. Already looking forward to a return trip!

Thank you - it was lovely to see some lovely reviews at a time that was very hard for our business with originally bushfire then covid closures. Your review kept us in good spirits when we needed it. Barney I might add is very pleased we are open again!!

This cottage was beautiful. Large and spacious in a lovely setting. We enjoyed being just out of the busy town and the quiet property was great for relaxing.
The cottage has first class amenities with a very comfortable bed and good quality linens.
We stayed in the two bedroom Bass cottage which has a large veranda overlooking the garden.
The kitchen is so well equipped and has great modern amenities.
The property has their cottages spaced out so they are all providing privacy. There’s a nice pool area and a spa room. The spa was not available due to COVID which was fully understandable.
This cottage was fabulous and we highly recommend it.

After a year of being closed more months than we were open - your beautiful review was just the tonic we needed after covid and bushfire closures. Thank you Denise. Your comments reflect what we aim to achieve for all our guests and we are thrilled when this is appreciated. We wish you all the best too and are glad you were able to travel as things have changed yet again with 2020 covid restrictions.

This was a 2 night stop over on our travels, you need to look out of the sign which is a bit small or you may drive past.
There are around 1/2 dozen S/C cottages spread out over the site, which includes a small pool, BBQ area, as well as a spa, you need to book this first.
The cottages are very spacious and cater for all of your needs from short to long stays, there are washing and drying machines in the cottage and washing power is provided, very useful if you have been on the road for a few weeks.
We had a 2 cottage but only had use of 1 bedroom, these are not air conditioned but the main lounge is, so not bad.
There is a full kitchen with all you need if dinning in, however we eat out down in the town.
The bathroom is a jack and Jill with a separate loo.
The car port was a nice touch to keep the car cool when the sun is out.
it’s about a 6 minute drive along one road into town and the beach. There’s plenty of parking along the front.
A great little place out of the way to relax, but not to far from the centre.
Very Friendly and Helpful owners with an interesting history to the place.

It is always lovely to read our reviews - especially from our international guests, as their perspective is often different to local travellers. We know the fully equipped laundry is appreciated! This review gives a good description of many of the features of the cottage and surrounds. Thank you for taking the time to publish your thoughts and we hope you continue finding great places to stay and experience. We loved having you stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in this beautiful cottage which was very spacious and super clean. Set in a quiet area backing onto bush and just a few minutes drive from town, these 6 cottages also boast an outdoor pool, BBQ area and incredible indoor leisure room with huge spa, massive fireplace and couch. We loved chatting with the owners and staff, and were so impressed with the accommodation and how much there was to do in the Lakes Entrance area that we look forward to returning soon.

Had to say that because we and our staff have all our goals to create a great stay for our guests realized with this lovely review - thank you to my staff for the great job you do (and 2020 has been a very challenging year so far) and thank you to the reviewer for appreciating our small business set in a magic location.

Jan was wonderfully hospitable. The cottage was clean and large! with excellent facilities. We had a wonderful time having a much needed holiday. The place is calm and peaceful but easily close enough to duck in to Lakes Entrance for shopping, meals or exploring (5mins). Great place

Stayed here for a couple of nights but did not have time to use the outside spar facilities. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen as well as a laundry area. Needed a car or taxi to get into town but the remoteness added to the charm.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review Phil and we hope you enjoyed the quiet. Technically we are still within the town limits but definitely easier to drive, take a taxi or order a courtesy bus when dining out or shopping in Lakes Entrance or beyond.

Lovely place to stay. We stayed in Salmon cottage number 3 for 3 nights. The cottage felt rather cold when we arrived but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Check in was easy - our information was in the office and the key was in the cottage door. We did see anyone from the Management while we were there. We called at the office when we were leaving - would have been nice to have been asked if everything had been ok for our stay.
Best thing was the availability of the washing machine and dryer which enabled us to get our washing done as we were on a road trip.
Would suggest in the winter months having availability of some sort of heater for the bedroom as it was too cold. We did not light the lovely fire in the lounge area due to being out and about. We used the air conditioning on heat to warm through the lounge.
All in all a lovely stay in a beautiful area.
About 5 min drive outside of Lakes Entrance .

Bass Cottage hosted us for two nights. The spacious bungalow has everything you need to feel comfortable and be self-sufficient. It's not far from the town. The lovely dog Barney comes by now and again to get a cuddle. The only thing we found a little annoying was that on Sunday afternoon there was a long, loud excavation work going on outside our bedroom window and then the ride-on lawnmower was used. Otherwise everything was great.
