Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fronting the Wimmera River
Whilst open to the public who walk along the river the sites are set back sufficiently not to have the two mix ( ie not like the lake at Shepparton)...
Had a very private site which had a new deluxe en-suite ...included BBQ, wash up area, washing machine...
Owners had a presence in the park.
The precinct included the river, Botanical gardens, bowls club, tennis courts, football/ cricket oval, angling club, miniature railway, walking tracks along and over river

Last minute decision to stop in for the night, after close. Staff were more than friendly and accommodating. The park and amenities are very clean and of a high standard, powered sights are large and flat for easy setup. Highly recommended

Stayed in a 2bedroom merino cabin with river view, ample space for a family of 4. Everything you need in a kitchen including Aldi coffee pod machine. Although it got close to zero overnight, we were toasty warm with heater, electric blanket on the main bed, and extra blankets in the cupboard. Only downside was the small bathroom, but pretty standard for a cabin. Overall great location on the river, walk to town or along walking paths by the river, and exceptionally clean.

An amazing location, tranquil & picturesque.
The park grounds are kept very tidy & organized by the staff with effortless daily tasks. We rented an ensuite site for a number of weeks whilst relocating. We could not be happier with the overall cleanliness of the facilities. As it was winter, the nice hot showers were greatly appreciated...(plus the large shower head made it all the better.)

The staff are fantastic - professional, welcoming & naturally friendly, extremely suited to the role of 'park managers.' A special thanks to managers, Sue & Glen who are a major credit to the park in numerous positive ways.
We would happily choose to stay at Riverside Caravan Park in the future & will highly recommend it to our friends & family, & off-course to you 'traveler.'

p.s - Restrictions due to Covid19 have forced some minor changes around the park;
ie/ to comply, the BBQ areas & playground are closed temporarily.
Masks are compulsory.

We stopped overnight on the way to Melbourne had our dog with us.
Staff was very friendly.
Whilst the linen and bathroom area were clean, the kitchen was very dated, upon opening the cutlery draw it nearly fell on my foot and the kitchen table top was very wobbly. Also, had to wash the crockery and cutlery as previous lodgers had not left very clean
Would only stay again if the dog friendly cabins were in better shape and not so cold.

Nestled by the river and adjacent botanical gardens the location is ideal and is an easy walk into town. Far enough from the truck route that whilst you get the hum they will not be noticeable.
The welcome was very warm. Facilities more than adequate but a little tired. Lots of cabins ( but we had a van ) no grassed sites. Dogs ok on leash. Great for kids. Nice to be woken by the corellas early on a beautiful summers day ( but wouldn’t want that every day 😬) - very reasonably priced.

We have stayed here previously. One night stay over on our trip up north. The caravan park is very well maintained, upgrades have been made in the last year which will provide greater benefits to users, staff are fantastic with easy walking chess to restaurants, etc in Horsham

We only spent the one night here but would happily have extended, if we weren’t headed off along the Silo Art Trail.

Quality accommodation right on the river, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Well maintained and priced, our small one bed cabin was perfect for our stay. The bathroom was very small, but everything else was great.

A nice touch was that the (whisper quiet) air-conditioning was on when we arrived on a very warm afternoon, making a great first impression.

The adjacent Botanic Gardens are worth a stroll, as is the riverside walk, while parents will appreciate the playground just outside the park gates. We can also recommend the charcoal chicken place on nearby Baker St, for a tasty takeaway.

The caravan park is owned by GDay parks and is old but amenities are good to use and you even get bath towels provided in the En-Suite sites!! The park is also very close to the Botanical Gardens and the Wimmerra River for walks. The shopping centres are withing 15 minute walk for the fitter people and a couple of minutes in a car.

Horsham Riverside Caravan Park is at an excellent location located right on the Wimmera River, less than five minutes from the Horsham City Centre, 2 hours from Ballarat, 2 hours from Mt Gambier, 3 hours from Melbourne and 5 hours from Adelaide. An excellent spot for a one or two-night stop between Melbourne and Adelaide. I highly recommend this caravan park for families, couples, groups and solo travelers alike.

Is there linen on the beds or do we have to bring our own
Answer from Enrico F
Adelaide, Australia43 contributions22 helpful votes
Linen is provided, there were 8 of us and hired two cabins, all with linen. Lovely caravan park, nicely located. Cabins were clean and comfortable, can't fault the park.
Answer from Lorrie61

I think that Loretta is correct, that they allow dogs in some of the older cabins but definitely not in the newer ones. When we have brought our dog we have had a site with our own van, so that is fine. It is a lovely park and river track to walk your dog though. You would need to ask when you book.
