We stayed here for one night on the way back from a trip and it was wonderful. All the staff, without exception, were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was fresh, light and very clean, with nicely decorated rooms. Our room was bright and airy with a big window, and the bathroom had an excellent large shower with a choice of rainhead or powerful adjustable shower head. The beds were comfortable and there was a selection of soft and firm pillows. The TV had the usual channels, but also instructions on how to cast from our phone in order to watch our own shows. Shampoo, body wash etc. were in wall mounted refillable eco friendly bottles which was great, and any additional amenties could easily be ordered by calling reception or scanning a QR code. We ate dinner and buffet breakfast at the restaurant and they were both excellent, and the bartender kindly made us a special cocktail as we didn't find anything we wanted on the cocktail list. The hotel parking garage was full when we arrived at around 7pm (we didn't have a hotel booking), but there was plenty of street parking which was free until 9:00am, after which we put money on the Easy Park app for the next two hours. We found the location convenient for shopping and would also have been able to walk to the waterfront and other attractions if we'd had more time but we had to be on our way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again next time we're in Geelong.

Opening weekend. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and welcoming. Bay view was good even though it’s a few blocks from the bay.
Had to mark it down based on a disappointing bar experience, warm beer and the bar menu never came after asking what we could order and being assured the menu would be brought to our table.
Major mark down on room service. Being an IHG rewards member, and being checked in already, I refuse to create yet another account just to order room service, there was no other way to order food to the room, well maybe food delivery services if I met them at reception.
Teething problems for opening weekend were generally resolved quickly when we suggested a few things, I reception applaud the team who did take the suggestion’s and acted on rectifying quickly.

My wife and I stayed overnight at Holiday Inn & Suites for one night. We had a top floor suite with amazing views out to Port Philip Bay. The room was well appointed with lots of space and a very comfortable bed.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had prearrange car parking and we drove straight in as there was number plate recognition. We were able to park opposite the lift, which allowed us to get our extensive amount of luggage up to our room.
We had a Continental breakfast in the morning which had all you need for a good breakfast.
The Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong is a truly good accommodation, however we chose it as we were travelling on the Trans Tasman Ferry with a night sailing. We arrived early so we could do lots of sightseeing in Geelong. We were extremely disappointed as the area was totally empty of anything to do. While it was a Sunday, it was obvious many places were closed permanently. Geelong is a sad, rundown city. This is a double disappointment for me as I did my Uni Degree through Deakin University which is just a block or so from Holiday Inn!
We ended up driving to Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsular to fill in our day before we boarded the Ferry at 7-pm.

Service was wonderful, room was beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the food selection at breakfast was cosmopolitan and amazing, trust me, because I sampled almost everything even going back for a second helping of the chickpea and pumpkin curry served with turmeric rice. Beautiful fluffy scrambled eggs with wilted spinach cooked especially for me with a full range of traditional accompaniments think bacon, tomato, baked beans etc and not to forget the make your own juice bar……did I mention the pumpkin seed sourdough bread available for toasting just one, amongst many…..
The hotel is brand new but despite that fact, everything worked like a well oiled machine.
We were in Geelong for the funeral of a family member so obviously, not a very happy time but being able to come home to a beautiful room, friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast meant the trip had a very big silver lining.
Thank you to all of the staff for making our trip to Geelong a really memorable one.

Expecting cheap and cheerful as per previous Holiday Inn visits, this hotel felt a lot more closer to a 5 star brand. Great bar area on level 1, plus the restaurant where buffet breakfast had eggs/omelette cooked to order and a self serve veggie juice bar. Highly recommended!

Very clean with lots of facilities within the hotel. Bar, restaurant, swimming pool, gym. Located in the centre of downtown Geloong. Excellent breakfast choices. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I was quite surprised because in UK our breakfast was breakfast from a vending machine at this chain but here they seem to take customer care to the next level. I had no faults my entire stay.

We had a nice spacious room in this new hotel, with a good view of the bay – the higher your room the better. Breakfast was good, with eggs cooked to order. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location was convenient. The waterfront (with its heritage carousel and many bollards, as well as many dining options) and the Westfield shopping centre are within walking distance. The arts centre was opposite and the art gallery very close. The railway/bus station a short walk away for those (like us) who did not come by car – although the walk from the railway/bus station to the hotel was uphill.

Great new Hotel in the hart of Geelong, walking distance to the central locations.
the pool was a little cold, but on the other hand you don't want it to be hot either.
parking can be a little difficult, but street parking might be suitable.
I will stay again.

The restaurant is over priced for the service and food that is on offer! The rooms however are very nice. I would suggest eating at one of the many fantastic restaurants or cafes around town. Food average at best!

This confirmed the horrorvstories i have heard about the residential aspect of the Holiday Inn: shoddy workmanship, lack of accountability, obstructionist attitude, and never ending delays in providing a response.
I was prepared to put that aside and enjoy breakfast with friends who were staying there. All i wanted was a simple light continental breakfast. Coffee came out of a machine; and they gave a pretty underwhelming concept of cappuccino. Almost everything i had was stale. Not sure what is harder, their waffles or a house brick. It's a close call.
When it came to paying i thought i was being asked to buy the hotel.
I will never go back, and i will discourage everyone i know from going there.
