This location was nothing short of enchanting, providing us with everything we could possibly need and then some. An onsite bar, complete with comfortable outdoor seating and cozy fire pits, was situated alongside the serene Campaspe River, creating an atmosphere of tranquil relaxation. To our delight, delectable rum balls were thoughtfully provided in our suite, adding a sweet touch to our stay. The convenience of the place was further highlighted by its proximity to the town centre, which was just a leisurely stroll away.

On a recent road trip, one of our destinations was Echuca, and we chose to stay two nights at the CocknBull Boutique Hotel overlooking the Campaspe River. We had an upstairs one bedroom apartment, which comprised of a separate bedroom, separate bathroom, separate toilet, along with a good size kitchen, dining and lounge area, and a balcony overlooking the river. The living and bedroom areas had air conditioners and there was a second TV in the bedroom. It was very clean and comfortable and tastefully furnished. The hosts were welcoming and showed us through the unit and gave us all the information we required. We went downstairs to the bar area which was open on the particular day we arrived, and enjoyed a glass of wine in the outside area overlooking the river with cosy fires burning in the fire pits. The property itself and gardens are presented very well and it is a short walking distance to town. We would certainly revisit if visiting Echuca again.

What a lovely four night break in Echuca. Our accommodation was generous in size and super-comfortable, with a fully functioning kitchen, large living room and balcony overlooking the river. And good wifi! We made use of the swimming pool (had it all to ourselves) and appreciated the attentiveness of the owner. Will return...

This is about the third time we've stayed here over the years and it remains among the best places one can stay in Echuca. Quiet, perfectly located and well appointed. Unfortunately had to knock off a few marks; bed was pretty uncomfortable and pillow selection was poor - all flat. Noise transfer from other rooms also left something to be desired. Really great coffee machine, but milk provided was frugal and not replenished - bit hard when there is no convenience store within cooee. Probably time some things were updated to match the price, such as the TV sets and the bedding. I know these are small things, but this is at the higher end of the price range and so I don't feel bad being a bit picky. Can't wait to get back there though.

Our room was at the front of the hotel, facing the road. The entrance was very welcoming, with lots of shade and green plants. One downside was that car parking for the three rooms at this location was beside the road, but it was free. Despite facing a busy road, the suite was very quiet. There was everything you could want laid on in the kitchenette, from an espresso maker to microwave and even a dishwasher, as well as cooking utensils and a full stove. We had an awesome spa before going to bed, and earlier we enjoyed a swim in the secluded swimming pool. The bed was as comfortable as anyone could want.
Only a couple of negatives. If you are elderly or have mobility issues you might find it more difficult getting in and out of the bath, as there is no handle for support, and also no non-slip mat for the tub, especially for having a shower. Also, we weren't too keen on the absence of any privacy when sitting on the toilet - no door! If you don't mind these inconveniences, this is an awesome place to stay for one night or several.

In town for a family event - Julie was warm and welcoming with excellent advice on where to eat. The rooms were stylish with a mix of antiques and contemporary and very comfortable contemporary furniture. Kitchenette had T2 teas and really cute teapot and tea cups. Garden was stunning. Highly recommended!

We have stayed many times at the CocknBull hotel. The rooms are always immaculate, the hosts welcoming and the location is just perfect - a short stroll to get a coffee, have lunch or enjoy some drinks in the evening. Could not ask for more.

On the positive side, the suites are spacious and include a kitchen. It’s also just a couple of minutes walk from Echuca’s main street with its many dining and drinking options. On the downside, the bathroom/lavatory design is terrible. Both are basically open, with no door, to the sleeping area. Which mad architect thought that’s what people want? Also the street at the front is busy and even though the sleeping area is at the back, I was aware of the noise from early morning. In addition there was no-one at reception when I turned up around 6pm on a Thursday - luckily my phone was working, otherwise getting the key would have been tricky. Overall, I’m being generous giving it 3/5.

Very spacious apartment (#2) with good amenities if you want to cook/dine in. The bedroom was cool, dark and quiet for a peaceful nights sleep (it was very hot outside). Very easy walk to the wharf area or central Echuca with many restaurants, cafes and pubs in between - no need to drive and there was plenty of on street parking. The pool area is quiet and shady, perfect for a quiet swim and a cool drink after a day out. Lovely little host dog who is quite the retriever when you throw his little toy. We would stay again but probably book the upstairs apartment overlooking the peaceful Campaspe River, we love a balcony.

Travelling and booking from the UK we were not sure if we had made the right decision booking at The Cock and Bull (except it sounded like a British pub!) We should not have had any doubts, if was a wonderful location. The accommodation we had was spectacular with full facilities, a lovely living area, well equipped kitchen and a quiet comfortable bedroom in a great location The hosts Russell and Julie were so friendly and helpful and they have done a brilliant job refurbishing the property to such a beautiful standard. I do not often complete reviews but this couple deserve recognition for their excellent offering
