Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Lovely staff, clean rooms, big bathrooms and very spacious, with the added bonus of being able to drive right up to your door. Around the corner are the city's best restaurants, bars and cultural highlights. Whether you're in Bendigo for business or pleasure is motel is inexpensive and well positioned. If you're hungry you can order food Uber eats from Bendigo is best.

When faced with a family member being rushed to Bendigo Hospital we arrived late Sunday afternoon. When we asked for a room for 2 nights we were informed he could only do one. which we were happy with. When told why we were there, he couldn't help enough to organise us a room for 2 nights. Customer service outstanding.. Rooms as always were very clean and tidy and warm as he put the heater on for us.. For the price, location and help could not fault them at all. He even asked the next day how the patient was going. I will definately be staying there again.

We had an awesome stay here with 2 adults & 2 teenage kids. The room was Massive. plenty of room to swing a cat in the lounge room area. 2 Good size bedrooms, both with single beds. Nise size balcony with 3 outdoor table & chairs. The Motel was only a few mins walk to the main street of Bendigo. The staff were really friendly & the room was serviced daily. They were all nice & clean.

The only thing it was missing was a full-size kitchenette, as you had to wash your disses in the bathroom. It did have a microwave but no cooking facilities. This wasn't an issue for us as every take away shop was with in walking distance. The roome are a bit older, but we were advised they are renovating these sometime in 2023 & give them all a freshen up.

We will be requesting this room again on our next visit to Bendigo.

Very poor accommodation. Cleanliness is clearly not their priority. Health department should be looking into this place. Mould, dirt and dust throught the room. Our room wasn't cleaned at all during our several night stay. They advertise having housekeeping but don't actually provide it. As long as they have your money they don't care. We told the owner and he said bad luck. Owner clearly doesn't care about his guests.

Can't thank Simon enough for saving the day when our other "prebooked" accommodation let us down. In short notice on a busy weekend he allocated us a newly renovated room perfect for out special requirements. The room was spacious clean and the accomodation itself so very close to the middle of Bendigo with the advantage of being a block behind all the noise. Too perfect. Thanks again Simon.

This motel is in a nice central location near the CBD in a quiet street. The owner/manager was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The A/C worked well on this very hot day. We stayed in a budget twin which was reasonably priced. Will stay again.

Quiet, centrally located motel with off street parking. Close to cafes and pubs. Reception was well stocked with most things you would need.
Rooms are large clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was generous and cooked to perfection.
Perfect for travellers looking for an overnight stay.

The owners who run this motel, which you deal with, were so rude to all of us who stayed. If your doing something they don't like, they will just YELL at you immediately like we were children ! instead of just asking politely. Disgusting service. Towels were not replaced. Everything was severely unprofessional.

Ageing, without personality and charmless - this could describe the motel or the owners, take your pick! Good location, but terrible owners who seemingly pride themselves on their ability to antagonise guests. Time for a new career Mr & Mrs Hotelier! Needless to say I would not stay here again!

Response from travelbug11Australia, Owner at City Centre Motel
Responded 30 Sept 2011
This group of people that stayed in September did nothing but disrupt other guests, throughout all hours of the night, showed little if any respect for other patrons and were most insulted when this was pointed out to them. Under no cicumstance will they be allowed to stay at this property again.

I stayed with 5 girlfriends (four from interstate and myself and one other from Bendigo) as it was my 30th birthday at a local venue. We are all in our late 20's to mid 30's and have travelled to many places together, but I was really disappointed with the stern lecture type check-in we were given. We were advised there was a requirement to pay a $600 cash deposit (not even credit card), but on check-in we sorted this out and agreed that my credit card would suffice. We were told that the room we stayed in had a history of issues with parties and noise, and that if we were told to "keep it down" it literally meant "get out". Not only this, it was after we said that two of us were locals that we were then told "it's the locals that cause all of the issues". I was deeply offended by the way we were treated, especially by someone in my own town. Fair enough you need to advise of the basic rules, but you need to have manners and treat guests with respect. On the plus side, the room was lovely and clean, spacious and homely, and very central to everything. Sadly, based on how we were treated, I wouldn't stay here again with my friends when they visit again.
