Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This accommodation is worth a stay, very reasonable rates, lots of parking and set a fair way back off the road so as a result nice and quiet. There is an outdoor pool on site. The rooms are spacious & modern, there is everything you would expect in a motel room and if you need anything the friendly staff would only be to happy to help. It’s situated at the Kangaroo Flat end of town. Enjoy 😉☕️🇦🇺

I always like to get off the main road for accommodation. It’s hopefully quieter. Well this fit the bill. Room isn’t extra special but there’s no need for all the bells and whistles. Bathroom looks like it’s been freshly renovated. Very nice. Back to the welcome. I got chatting to the owner and I feel like I’m not a stranger anymore. I had a great quiet sleep. Perfect for a big day on the road. I’d go back again for sure.

Very comfortable with newly refurbished rooms. Very reasonable rates and in a quiet location handy to everything Bendigo has to offer. Charlie made us most welcome on arrival. I have no problem recommending this motel to any travellers. We will stay here on our next visit.

We regularly book Welcome Stranger for a group of sporting officials, close to the Bendigo Stadium. Its an ideal spot and suited to our group. Charlie and Karen are excellent hosts where nothing is too much bother, even the last minute request for an extra roll away. Thoroughly recommend

We booked through the Bendigo Visitor Centre on the day we arrived and were not disappointed. Very comfortable and nicely appointed room, recently renovated. Good location, off the main road, so no noise. Still quite close to Bendigo centre. Very friendly and helpful reception.

We booked a week in advance for our overnight stay on the Friday of a long weekend knowing we would arrive late. Called in advance to check - “no problem, we will have reception open” Arrived to a welcoming greeting, fresh milk for our fridge and discovers a clean recently refurbished room. Very large and more than we expected for the price. A street back from the main road so no noise, if we were staying for the weekend the location would be a great base to explore Bendigo

Staff were nice, the room was lovely and neat. Everything was clean and the place was only a hop step and large jump to the centre of town, great value. They were still doing reno's which we understood, but a nice off the main strip place. We would stay again if going to Bendigo.

Nicely decorated room with an extra bed. Modern bathroom with quality toiletries. A little out of the way but made up for that by being quiet overnight. Pool for use when the weather is warmer! Would recommend this motel.

Lovely clean rooms and a very helpful staff. Fairly central to the delights of Bendigos tourist attractions, in particular the Deborah mine and the Chinese museum. Bendigo is a festive city with a great history of the Goldmining Era.
