Langley Estate, Bendigo is an iconic Australian Federation-era estate on 2.5 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in Victoria’s spectacular and historic Goldfields region. 90 minutes from Melbourne Airport, the 1904 Langley Hall mansion is 'arguably Bendigo and the surrounding district's grandest residential property and one of the city's most admired historic landmarks.' Guests stay in suites in Langley Hall, one of the finest Federation-era mansions in Australia, only five minutes up the Midland Highway (A300) from Pall Mall in the heart of Bendigo’s historic CBD. Langley Hall is a treasured example of an Australian stately home in the uniquely Australian ‘Federation’ architectural style. It exudes the well-known ‘Langley Magic’ – that enchanting atmosphere only relaxing spaces within superbly designed surroundings can give. Upon entering the large Entrance Hall, guests immediately enjoy the grandeur and generous proportions of this historic property, which is also a welcoming and character-filled home. Guests can also relax and unwind in the charming downstairs Drawing Room surrounded by magnificent antique furniture including a spectacular sideboard made for the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition. Given the historic nature of Langley Hall and the surrounding Estate together with the large staircases, antique furniture and original artwork we are, unfortunately, unable to cater for children or infants. Please note that all buildings on the Langley Estate - over 50 rooms across Langley Hall, Langley Manor and the Lauriston Chapel - are heated and air-conditioned to ensure your personal comfort all year round!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Fabulous place to stay. The interior is divine and watching the sun through the stained glass while relaxing in the drawing room is fabulous.
Our room, Bebe suite, was large and very comfortable. There are nice touches such as a jug of fresh milk in the mini bar for your tea.
Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

Just driving through the gates up to reception you can see there is so much history in this place. Being met by one of the hosts, Simone, she showed us around and explained the history ( so few of these places have been maintained ).
We were staying in the Langley Suite which was very large, with a modern ensuite and everything provided - we could even walk across the hallway to the library and enjoy the comforts as well.
Breakfast was provided in the dining room ( next to the lounge ) and there we met our other host, Thomas, who provided our cooked breakfast to go with all the other provisions provided. An excellent host, as was the property, and the position being only a few kms out of Bendigo CBD made it perfect for any outings.
Totally enjoyed our stay and we hope your future aspirations come to fruition.

We stayed for 3 nights. Simone and Thomas are wonderful hosts. The property is stunning and well maintained. The rooms are huge and warm with comfy beds with crisp white sheets and fabulous hot shower and fluffy white towels. The furniture and paintings and antiques are magnificent. You feel like you’re in another world. Loved the complimentary port in the drawing room. Loved the brekky and sitting in the magnificent dining room and meeting the other guests. Highly recommended especially if you’re musical. A real treat awaits you.
PS the local birds are wonderful and may pay you a visit if you’re lucky.

Langley Estate is great for a short break, the place has a lot of history and is set in spacious gardens. The property is very tasteful and charming. Our room was quite large and comfortable with excellent, clean facilities. The balcony outside our room is a great place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun set. Our hast Simone was very enthusiastic about her property and was very accommodating and helpful.

Normally a building this historic and picturesque is a study in compromises. Maybe an "idiosyncratic" bathroom, noises distributing through the house, or cold breezes around windows.

Great news: there is not of that here.

This is beautiful and comfortable. Walking through delightfully furnished and preserved common areas leads you to bedrooms that you will be quite happy to relax in. Separate but adjacent bathrooms are probably the closest to exposure to history, but the bathrooms are fully modern with no worries there. Even the living room with plush chairs and provided local fortified wine aims to take you back in time to just relax.

Breakfast seemed well-provisioned (judging by the set-out room) but we had to leave before it was available, so no comments there.

The room was adequate, was large and had everything we needed. Bed was nice, and was warm. However it was up a flight of very steep steps, understand it’s an old house, but it would’ve been good to have been warned. Pictures show a lovely bar on the lower floor but this was closed, again no communication to say this wouldn’t be open. After travelling quite a way we were looking forward to a nice relaxing drink, not to be. It is a bit of a walk to nearby pubs. Breakfast was good, but the girl on shift didn’t greet us or make eye contact and was very offhand, not friendly at all.

What a beautiful house! Federation style at it’s finest. We had the Langley suite which opens directly onto the upstairs verandah - all rooms looked lovely though. Simone kindly rearranged our booking which I had stupidly made for the wrong week - much appreciated. A short drive from the town centre, lots of parking. Wonderful breakfast.

Absolutely lovely! Had a wonderful mother daughter weekend and the property was the perfect choice. Amazing antiques and artworks, so much to see and appreciate. The rooms were beautifully appointed with everything you could want. Lovely breakfast in such a beautiful dining room. Hosts were lovely and with only 6 rooms, it was very quiet. Lovely sitting rooms to enjoy a quiet drink and sunset views. Highly recommend, this property is very special! Thankyou Thomas and Simone

The ambiance is fantastic. Beautiful old furniture and lovely victorian reproduction lamps. The bed was comfortable. It was bad weather outside so a little cool in the room but everything was very good. We didn't have breakfast but I am sure it would have been beautiful. Some lovely sitting rooms to sit in during the day and a garden which was large and without weeds! Well worth the visit
