Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly environment and good menace from the owner. The room is big enough for a couple, very clean, quiet place and easy to walk down the city centre. Parking spot at the front and by the look on the street it’s very safe. Highly recommended, the bed was comfy. No air conditioning but they have a wall fun that does help a little bit. During the day the room can be hot if it’s hot outside but was cool over night. Thank you

Had work in Bendigo on the Friday, decided to stay for the weekend. PIN to get in the front door, which is changed regularly, then a PIN for your room makes the place feel very secure. Bedrooms were larger than I expected. My room (Room 1) was huge. Place was spotless and kitchen very well equipped. Rear courtyard an excellent feature too. And Bendigo CBD was less than 500 metres away.

This was my second stay at Bendigo Backpackers, and it is still the best stay for the budget. More like a family home than a hostel, I had a double bed and bedroom to myself, and was easily able to access toilet and shower when I wanted too. The kitchen was clean and functional, and the loungeroom was comfortable. Very central to Bendigo CBD, and off-street parking was a big help.

Fabulous place to stay. Clean, neat, warm. Spacious kitchen and shared facilities with everything you'd need. Large quiet bedroom. No dorm rooms so not many people to share bathrooms with. No fuss entry and exit using codes. Would recommend.

Great location, there is everything you might need - laundry, kitchen, dining and living room, nice garden. I saw a few pish bikes there too, not sure they were for guests or not though. The hostel was clean, spacious, the common areas smelled nice, and the bed was very comfy. The check-in was a bit tricky because there was no reception and the phone number given was just telling me that everything had to be done via booking.com. Although they replied back to me quite quickly, so I could get in after a few minutes to leave my bag there as I had arrived before check-in times. I received my room details later on via text message. One thing that also need to be mention is to be aware if you choose garden view room, the curtains have to be closed otherwise people in the garden can see you (no intimacy). The garden room is very spacious, it would be great a small cupboard to be placed there. ☺

We stayed for two nights in a private queen room which was spacious, had a ceiling fan, had patio door to outside, comfy bed and clean linen. The hostel has a really laid back feel and the clientele is young and old and from all round the world. There is a great kitchen and communal areas and ducted air con throughout the building. There are three bathrooms which were very clean and have hot, high pressure showers. There was no late night noise at all during our stay. This place is a great alternative to a motel and less than half price.

The hostel is fairly comfortable and in a decent location by the Bendigo city centre. The onsite parking is limited, but there is all-day parking nearby. Good Wifi. The kitchen and dining area was decent, though it felt on the small side and very crowded around dinner time.

A good vibe hostel that let's you look after yourself but if you need anything text the staff and they'll come over and get anything you ask for, very caring and helpful! The hostel has a good social layout with free laundary, wifi, and great kitchen amenities. Has a few regular visitors who are also helpful and fun to hang out with!
