The experience was a mixed one with some aspects very good and others more 3 Star than the anticipated 4 or 5 Star.

Good prearrival service and welcome on arrival. All good in this regard.

I had booked a room for one person and was happy to find the main living area was quite spacious, tastefully appointed and well lit. There were two bedrooms and although not to a premium standard both were clean and nicely appointed as well.

An hour or so after checking out I realised I had left some items behind in the fridge and the staff were very accommodating in retrieving these so I could collect them later. Unfortunately I didn't realise I had also left two items in the ensuite and have yet to be contacted about them.

The main disappointing aspect was the numerous obvious maintenance issues that were present. To name but a few these included skirting boards and trim that has pulled away from wall to a ceiling light missing the fitting and the ensuite having needing multiple maintenance and cleaning issues attended to. It's not that I am overly picky or that any were major issues but overall it made it feel more akin to a 3 Star apartment than the 4 or 5 Star image promoted.

In summary: As these are marketed as quality apartments and priced accordingly, the lack of attention to maintenance issues is quite disappointing and left me with mixed memories. I have contacted the facility about these but to date received no meaningful response. End result, I wont be rebooking.

This property was booked for me through work. The apartment is fully kitted out with all the cooking things, a washing machine and a dryer. There is one air conditioner unit which is located in the lounge - the furthest end from the bedrooms. Thankfully I was in the place by myself so could leave the doors open and sleep but during summer this would be very bad if you had multiple people in the apartment. The wifi was also terrible and constantly dropping out. I had to hotspot from my phone for the entire week.
The check in process was very easy. Friendly reception. Location is average. It is a decent walk to anywhere reasonable for food/drinks but there is a servo and fish/chip shop close for those only staying a single night.

One of the worst accom experiences ever. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights 3rd floor above reception area - no lift. Dirty cushions, broken soap holders, broken dining chair, broken door chain. Light not working in spare room and no aircon floor to bedrooms. Fully booked hotel and Reception shuts at 6pm and therefore couldn’t help with tv not working properly for the evening or internet not working for the duration on any devices.
Asked Sunday afternoon if room would be cleaned (eg garbage removal, beds etc. and young lady was very quick to correct my perception that rooms might be serviced on Sunday. Apparently no hotels have this happen in Victoria- rude and unhelpful. Charged same $ both nights.
On the Monday a different receptionist apologised for the photos I’d shown her of the room, error messages of internet and tv screen errors. Sally based on the reviews below, i doubt the owners will do anything.

i am pleased it was only 1 night. The apartment was very hot, very wet from the air conditioner, and the flight of stairs was just too far being disabled. As I had made a call, and was told that they made a note about the stairs, well they did not. As I could not use the air conditioner, the room was excessively hot, Bendigo was hot and muggy. The fans output was not strong enough to cool down the room.
The rooms were clean, and fresh linen. The stair wells could be made free of cobwebs.
Please advise earlier if rooms have to be entered by a flight of stairs, climbing is a big no, no, as another member of the family was also handicapped. I certainly will be very early about booking this facility again if the only offering has a flight of stairs to enter the apartment.

The floor was extremely dirty and appeared not to have been properly cleaned in a long time.
When I wiped up a drop of toothpaste, the wet wipe came away black. Walking barefoot resulted in blackened feet, and the bathmat became filthy just from being on the floor during a shower.
The Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow and unreliable.
The washing machine stopped at drain mode and required manual intervention to complete the cycle.
The dishwasher leaked water under the sink. The tap in the ensuite shower dripped continuously.
The water pressure in both showers was terrible. Hot water barely came through; even with the hot water turned on full and barely any cold water added, the shower was only lukewarm with no pressure. (The pressure in sinks and basins was fine.) Glue from the floorboards was all over the tiles and toilet in the bathrooms, making them appear dirty and unkept. The toilet cover between the cistern and toilet in the main bathroom was broken, and we had to fix it ourselves to use the toilet. The cistern in the main bathroom was stained and marked. The bath/shower door in the main bathroom was broken and wouldn’t stay open, requiring a towel to be wedged underneath to use the shower. The shower bases in both the ensuite and main bathroom were stained and mouldy. The balcony door lacked a key, making it impossible to close the door securely without risking getting locked out. The balcony opened directly onto the car park, making it unpleasant to sit outside due to car fumes and constant foot traffic. Bedroom curtains couldn’t be opened due to the lack of privacy, as they faced the busy car park and entryway. The dining chairs were too tall for the table (or the table was too short), making it uncomfortable to use. The kitchen tap was loose, and the pedals on the kitchen bins were missing, leaving only a metal bar that was dangerous to use barefoot. The sofa was uncomfortable and appeared unclean. The bed in the main bedroom consisted of two single mattresses pushed together to make a king-size bed. Both mattresses were sagging, with large dips and uncomfortable seams in the middle. The springs in the mattresses dug into the body, it was very uncomfortable. Curtains throughout the apartment were dirty, stained, and torn. The main bedroom curtain had a large rip and was badly stained. Timber architraves in the ensuite and main bathroom were rotted and swollen from water damage, causing the doors to not shut properly. Floorboards were loose.

Quest apartments 489 High St Bendigo First I was quoted $488 for 2 nights for three adults. I was asked for my visa details to be held by Quest. Then 3 days before our trip $544 was taken off my visa account. Very cheeky I felt. When we arrived the apartment had 2 queens beds in two rooms. My adult daughters didn’t want to share a bed ( rightly so ) and after advising the office staff a fold up camp bed was provided. Not really suitable for adults. House keeping only supplied 4 tea bags and 4 coffee sachets each day with small long life milk There was a dishwasher but I thought it was cheap to only have 3 spoons folks knives etc in the draw. This I felt was very penny pinching considering the two nights was $544. Check out was 10 am and at exactly 10 am our swipe cards were electronically stopped. We had two suitcases in our car boot but our handbags were still in the apartment that we could not access. While my daughter went to advise the staff the lady in the apartment next to us was in the same situation with luggage in her car but her child now locked in the apartment. She resorted to climbing over the balcony to gain access. I just felt so disappointed as we didn’t feel valued as customers and the experience was in my opinion not worth the money.

I am very sorry to hear your experience was not what you had expected and it left you disappointed. just to let you know I assure you that the price you were charged was the price you were quoted $ 269.00 per night which is $ 544 this includes the credit card fee surcharge. I am sorry to hear you were locked out however check out time is 10am and the keys automatically deactivate after that time. I do apologise if this caused you an inconvenience. Your concerns with the amount of amenities has been passed onto the housekeeping team. Again I apologise for any inconvenience during your stay. Unit was not clean, oil smell in unit from previous guests cooking was overwhelming. We had to go and buy numerous air fresheners that still did not rid the room of the smell. Dishwasher was full of dishes and there were towels in the dryer, not sure if they were clean or dirty! Every tap in the unit dripped, a simple washer change would fix it. There is a lack of maintenance. Would not stay again.

Good afternoon Nicole, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us, it is greatly appreciated. The aforementioned smell was investigated and deemed caused by oriental cooking ingredients and subsequent preparation of meals. We apologise that this was not identified and neutralised prior to your arrival; management has been informed, and new procedures will be formulated and provided to staff to ensure this remains an isolated incident. Thank you. Kind Regards, Front Office Team Quest Bendigo

Booked several nights here whilst in Bendigo and found the rooms clean and tidy. Our air conditioned apartment had two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other two singles. The apartment had two bathrooms plus a separate toilet. The kitchen has an electric stove with oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc. The TV has access to Netflix and several other streaming channels.

Now for the groans - the two couches in the lounge were like hammocks, sit down in either of them and there was no support. They were actually fold out beds and like most fold out beds offer little support as couches. The wifi was fine during the day but could become very slow in the evening as more guests started using it. Watching catch up TV in the evening wasn't an option due to the slow internet speed. And although the TV had access to Netflix and other streaming services you need to have your own account to use them.

The only other gripe was the bedroom had no bedside lights, just the one main light in the room. Not really a problem but a couple of bedside lights is something more bedrooms have.

Other than that the place was good. About 4 kms from downtown and on the main highway but the traffic noise wasn't a problem and we would stay there again
