Detailed Reviews
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Heritage. The rooms were clean, beds perfectly made and bathroom shining, The owner Jen was very helpful by answering our queries prior to arrival regarding the bushfires and the smoke haze. Both Jen and her husband Darren were professional, friendly and worked hard to maintain the property and ensure the guests were well catered to. The free wifi and the fabulous pool was a huge bonus. Thank you Jen and Darren. We will be back the next time we are in Bendigo.

This an extremely well run motel just 2 kms outside the Bendigo CBD. It's an older style motel, but the spacious rooms are well designed and have recently been renovated. Darren is super helpful and friendly and we were really happy with the motel's BBQ facilities. The bucket with the window washer/squeegee outside each room was a really thoughtful touch!

Its always about the little things isn't it? The BBQ in our lovely pool area is the perfect spot to do a bit of self catering, then to sit back and relax who needs to go out :). We've noticed over the years that if our guests are not washing off the summer bugs they are defrosting their windscreens in winter, so thank you for noticing the little things we hope they made your stay a more pleasurable one. Take care

Booked 4 nights accommodation with the property, for a Queen bed & single.
Had a friendly & helpful check in. The complex is the traditional single storey where you have a designated car parking spot in front of your room.
We were allocated Room 14. Plenty of room inside with 2 beds, a table & 2 chairs & plenty of space for your luggage. There is a bar fridge, microwave & tea/coffee making & a tv. The wifi is free, fast & can be relied upon. The air con works really well. There is an openable window in the main body of the room
The ensuite is large enough. The shower stall is a walk in type with a good shower & there is an openable window.
What is really good about this complex for the traveller is there is a free guest laundry, with a washing machine , dryer & also a washing line to air dry your washing. I had brought my own washing powder. There is also a pool which was well used by other patrons while we were there.
The hotel offers a continental breakfast to be delivered to the room & after getting it the 1st morning, it was so good, we chose it again for the next 3 mornings.
The staff we encountered were so helpful & accommodating.
In close proximity is a Woolworths, & a fantastic pub/bistro, called The Foundry. The hotel is about 1.5kms to the centre of Bendigo. There is very little road noise.
We enjoyed our stay here & highly recommend this hotel.

Our family of 4 with an 11 year old and 14 year old stayed here last week. We had a room that had 2 x single beds in one room and a queen in the main room with a lounge and TV. There was also a DVD player in the cupboard, plenty of extras such as pillows/blankets.
The air conditioner was great and the rooms were immaculately well kept. We checked in easily with Darren and he gave us a great tip for dinner (Foundry Hotel) and some of the meals that previous guests had made notable mention of. Darren informed us that he had just finished mowing the pool area and was just about to put the outdoor furniture back. We settled into our room then the kids hit the pool, Darren met us there and pointed out the complimentary pool towels and a bunch of pool noodles to relax with.
Darren's wife was very helpful with local attractions (they have an extensive range of brochures the lobby) and gave us some good advice.
Everything about the room and property were 110% and I would definitely stay here again - the biggest draw card for us as a family of 4 is the kids getting a bed each and the 2 bedroom set up.
There are too many positives about this place to review - do yourself a favour and book a night of few here next time you're in Bendigo.

Gurty71, we're so sorry we missed responding to this wonderful review. Its so nice of you to notice all that we do and what we provide. We know its not just about our immaculately kept property, the fantastic pool area that's so private or our beautifully clean rooms, its also about the good old fashion service that just comes naturally to all the team at The Heritage. We so appreciate lovely guests like yourself who thankfully let everyone know they enjoyed their stay and we hope will see us again another time. Take care while we all recover from the weird world we're living currently in. Safe travels ahead

My wife and I had a guesthouse in Vietnam for 4 years until 2017 and consequently know what a 24/7 job it is. Having also lived in Japan, nothing gives me more pleasure than attention to detail. Everything good about Bendigo is within walking distance, including several amazing pubs ( Golden Square, Foundry, National ) which amply demonstrate why this amazing regional centre has recently been awarded UNESCO certificate of excellence in cuisine. As fire refugees seeking recuperation space, the room was delightful and the pool great for the young'un.Thanks Dennis for a great stay

Thanks Andrew, we agree we're in a great location, it really is only short hop to the Foundry Hotel, and a little further to the other wonderful eateries. Glad you and your family enjoyed splashing around on these hot days. Take care and lets hope the fires are out soon.

Clean rooms, great price and friendly staff. The hotel is located close to the tourist tram and Beechworth bakery. Also located close to supermarket, petrol and CBD. Not far in a taxi to train station. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean with a reverse cycle air conditioner which we needed due to cold night

My fiance and I have just returned from a fabulous long weekend away in Bendigo, and this place was great from start to finish. Darren checked us in quickly, smoothly, and with a friendly welcome, and our room was spacious and immaculate with all the essentials. The pool is lovely - plenty of space and it gets a nice amount of sun (but with plenty of shaded areas too for those that prefer). The location is perfect - about a 10 minute walk into town, with a supermarket and large pub across the road, but the neighbourhood is so peaceful, you wouldn't believe you were so close to the action.
We had such a great time, and Darren and Jen are such warm and welcoming people who will make sure you have a comfortable stay.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review, we're delighted that you both had a wonderful time in our city and at our Motel. You've highlighted some of the wonderful reasons to stay here. We agree its a great location, close to everything you need and to have spent some time in our hidden oasis (the pool) sounds like a perfect get away. Thanks again, safe travels this year. We hope to see you again.

Selected this motel based on the reviews and very happy with our choice. Location excellent, parking right outside our room door. Room spotlessly clean and nicely updated. Excellent pillows and crisp linen and towels. Contact free breakfast delivery through the brekky door. Good breakfast and very reasonably priced. Solar heated pool was so lovely and warm and a very nice sitting area around the pool, also very private. Hosts were very accommodating and appreciative that we booked via their website. Overall a lovely complex, quiet at night and I have no hesitation to highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on our Motel. You've summed it up brilliantly. Its a great location, nice and quiet when you need to sleep, yet just a small distance from all the great things in Bendigo. Thank you also for noticing how hard our dedicated housekeepers work, they do a fantastic job. Its been a tough year and all direct bookings are helping get us back on track, so again thank you. Safe travels in 2021. We hope to see you again.

We booked his Queen room in Bendigo for 2 nights to attend an event at the Art Gallery. The hotel was in a good location, a short car ride to everything we planned to do. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Management was accommodating regarding our requests. I highly recommend for your next stay in Bendigo.

New owners recently taken over are extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Originally a two night stay that turned into five! That says it all.... Room very clean and large for a motel. Nice fridge with a kettle, tea and coffee and microwave. Pool area very nice to sit out with two sun loungers a number of chairs two large dining tables and plenty of shade. The pool is solar heated too which is a great bonus. A great clean BBQ beside the pool. Probably one of the cleanest we have seen and we have seen lots. On site laundry with outdoor hanging space available instead of tumble drying if you prefer. Very handy for local attractions e.g. Gold Mine and Tram. Also close to Woolworths if self catering. Housekeeping staff also very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. We would have no hesitation in returning to the Heritage if in Bendigo or indeed the surrounding area. We wish the new owners every success, they are doing everything right!
